Ouch, that’s going to leave a mark! Hillary Crys From Her Left Eye!

Obama sweeps 3 states, Huckabee takes 2

AP
Sen. Barack Obama swept the Louisiana primary and caucuses in Nebraska and Washington state Saturday night, slicing into Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s slender delegate lead in their historic race for the Democratic presidential nomination.
The Illinois senator also won caucuses in the Virgin Islands, completing his best night of the campaign.

“Today, voters from the West Coast to the Gulf Coast to the heart of America stood up to say ‘yes we can'” Obama told a cheering audience of Democrats at a party dinner in Richmond, Va.

He jabbed simultaneously at Clinton and Arizona Sen. John McCain, saying the election was a choice between debating the Republican nominee-in-waiting “about who has the most experience in Washington, or debating him about who’s most likely to change Washington. Because that’s a debate we can win.”

Clinton preceded Obama to the podium. She did not refer to the night’s voting, instead turning against McCain. “We have tried it President Bush’s way,” she said, “and now the Republicans have chosen more of the same.”

She left quickly after her speech, departing before Obama’s arrival. But his supporters made their presence known, sending up chants of “Obama” from the audience as she made her way offstage.
Obama’s winning margins ranged from substantial to crushing.
He won roughly two-thirds of the vote in Washington state and Nebraska, and almost 90 percent in the Virgin Islands.
Nearly complete Louisiana returns showed Obama with 57 percent of the vote, to 36 percent for the former first lady. As in his earlier Southern triumphs in Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina, Obama, a black man, rode a wave of African-American support to victory in Louisiana. Clinton won the white vote overwhelmingly.

Wild Thing’s comment……..
The other night when they were counting the votes on Super Tuesday, they asked a group of people to name one thing that Obama has done in the past two years as Sen. that they liked. NO hands went up, no one could think of even one thing. The room went completely silent.
The man asking the question said to Hannity….. this is amazing they can’t come up with even one thing.
Of course not Obama is imo hand sealed and delivered by Soros to the USA. His hand picked candidate from back when he ran for the Senate. Again this is my opinion but how on earth could a man that has done nothing as a Senator, even his voting was mostly “present” instead of yea or nay on things. Just too weird! And none of the media even mention this. They prefer to just say how great he is, and the huge crowds that gather to hear him speak.

Border-control Activists Bemoan McCain’s Rise

Border-control Activists Bemoan McCain’s Rise
Houston Chronicle …for complete article
They’ve set up surveillance on the Rio Grande and filmed illegal immigrants crossing the river by night.
They’ve mapped border crossing spots from Texas to California in airplanes mounted with cameras. They’ve confronted day laborers on street corners and parking lots in Houston.
But now activist groups working to limit illegal immigration are stunned and dismayed by the rise of Arizona Sen. John McCain as the likely Republican presidential nominee — and a threat to their work and cause.
In their world, McCain is a traitor because he fought for a landmark bill last year that offered a path to citizenship for undocumented residents, a move some critics derided as “amnesty.”
Members of these groups were discouraged Thursday after former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney — who took a hard line against illegal immigration — dropped out of the presidential race.
Some now joke about voting for Democratic Sen. Hillary Clinton. Others say it’s time to switch to Republican Rep. Ron Paul, while others hope that former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee can somehow surge to the fore.

”There is no scenario anymore, everything is gone,” lamented Shannon McGauley, founder and president of the Texas Minutemen, whose members have conducted operations on the Southwest border.

Curtis Collier, the head of U.S. Border Watch in Houston, said McCain’s ascendancy, simply put, ”is bad for us, I’ll be honest.”

”None of the candidates are strong on immigration, and Romney probably was the strongest,” said Collier, whose group regularly confronts day laborers at informal hiring centers around Houston. ”Now that he’s gone, many of our issues are in trouble.”

The depth of the negative feelings for McCain can be seen in comments by conservatives such as commentators Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter, who liken the GOP candidate to his Democratic counterparts.

”I don’t see much difference between Hillary and McCain on immigration,” said Louise Whiteford, president of Texans for Immigration Reform in Houston, which has 400-plus members. ”That doesn’t give us much of a choice.”

Consequently, Whiteford said her organization will begin focusing on local elections to advocate their agendas.

Wild Thing’s comment……..
Memo to McCain, if you become President please take seriously American sovereignty when you push through your Amnesty bill for the illegal foreign invasion.

Paging Al Gore ~ Biofuels Harm More Then Help

Biofuels harm more than help, studies find
spokesman review.com
Growing crops to make alternative fuel releases large amount of carbon into air
The rush to grow biofuel crops – widely embraced as part of the solution to global warming – is actually increasing greenhouse gas emissions rather than reducing them, according to two studies published Thursday in the journal Science.
One analysis found that clearing forests and grasslands to grow the crops releases vast amounts of carbon into the air – far more than the carbon spared from the atmosphere by burning biofuels instead of gasoline.

“We’re rushing into biofuels, and we need to be very careful,” said Jason Hill, an economist and ecologist at the University of Minnesota who co-authored the study. “It’s a little frightening to think that something this well intentioned might be very damaging.”

Even converting existing farmland from food to biofuel crops increases greenhouse gas emissions as food production is shifted to other parts of the world, resulting in the destruction of more forests and grasslands to make way for farmland, the second study found.
The analysis calculated that a U.S. cornfield devoted to producing ethanol would have to be farmed for 167 years before it would begin to achieve a net reduction in emissions.

“Any biofuel that uses productive land is going to create more greenhouse gas emissions than it saves,” said Timothy Searchinger, a researcher at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University and the study’s lead author.

Since 2000, annual U.S. production of corn-based ethanol has jumped from 1.6 billion gallons to 6.5 billion gallons – supplying about 5 percent of the nation’s fuel for transportation, according to the Renewable Fuels Association.
Federal legislation passed last year calls for production of ethanol to more than double over the next decade.
Food crops such as corn, palm oil, sugar cane and soy beans have so far been the main source of biofuels because they are already grown in abundance and relatively easy to convert.
The fuels are environmentally attractive because, unlike fossil fuels, they are theoretically carbon-neutral. Carbon is released when the fuel is burned, but a similar amount is absorbed from the atmosphere as the crops grow.
Calculating the actual increase or decrease in carbon emissions has been difficult because of myriad factors involved, such as the energy used to produce the fuels and the varying amounts of carbon released through cultivation.
The biggest source of emission, by far, comes from land-use changes associated with biofuels, the new studies showed.
Several scientists said it is becoming clear that the biofuel industry needs to focus on potential biofuel sources that do not increase pressure on land, such as municipal trash, crop waste and prairie grasses.
The government is also promoting those sources, but there are still technological hurdles, and the powerful agricultural lobby has put its weight behind food-based biofuels to boost crop prices for farmers.

“We need better biofuels before more biofuels,” said Alex Farrell, a professor of energy and resources at the University of California at Berkeley who was not involved in the study.

Wild Thing’s comment……..
Humans have a history of making things worse everytime they try to help Mother Nature. Someday, we’re going to have to learn the old rule “All things in moderation” and let nature take care of itself. It is amazing to me that as scientifically advanced as we are today, our knowledge of science in some areas is more primitive than that of the earliest civilizations on earth. Science doesn’t really matter. This is a religion and the initiatives are all about the spin and government control.
The left has a defense for any alternative fuel. If we are burning it it will get shot down. When carbon monoxide was the major problem with emissions it was the demon. Now we have developed technology to clean up emissions leaving mainly co2. Oh now co2 is evil. When we develop technology to trap co2 look for the next demon ah…..oxygen content too high?
I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s even more sinister. What do humans expel in their breath? CO2; What are humans made of? Carbon. Carbon=bad. This is about ultimate genocide of undesirables by the elites. It’s pure evil.
Gore has always been big on population control as are the Clinton’s. Just typing …Al Gore quotes on population control …..into Google brings up tons of sites with his quotes and talks about this.
These people are anti-business, anti-American, and we thought the terrorist want to return us to the stone age!
If the left were for real they be sitting in Long Beach Harbor and every other US port blocking Chinese imports. Talk about bad carbon a footprint, no pollution regulation and human rights violations. See the goal here is for the government to take over all natural resource and the means of production. Like China, Russian, Venezuela. That is why they get a pass from the Sierra Club and other such organizationa they prefer the political systems.

Ah Politics Truth Via Humor

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her
altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him,
“Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago,
but I don’t know where I am.”
The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, “You’re in a hot air
balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2,346 feet
above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude
and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.
She rolled her eyes and said, “You must be a Republican.”
I am,” replied the man. “How did you know?”
“Well,” answered the balloonist, “everything you told me is
technically correct, but I have no idea what to do with your
information, and I’m still lost. Frankly, you’ve not been much help to
me.”
The man smiled and responded, “You must be a Democrat.”
I am,” replied the balloonist. “How did you know?”
Well,” said the man, “You don’t know where you are or where you’re
going. You’ve risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot
air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and you
expect me to solve your problem. You’re in exactly the same position
you were in before we met, but, somehow, now it’s my fault.”

Toldeo Mayor to Marines: Leave downtown

Mayor to Marines: Leave downtown
He says urban exercises scare people
Toledo.com
A company of Marine Corps Reservists received a cold send-off from downtown Toledo yesterday by order of Mayor Carty Finkbeiner.
The 200 members of Company A, 1st Battalion, 24th Marines, based in Grand Rapids, Mich., planned to spend their weekend engaged in urban patrol exercises on the streets of downtown as well as inside the mostly vacant Madison Building, 607 Madison Ave.
Toledo police knew days in advance about their plans for a three-day exercise. Yet somehow the memo never made it to Mayor Finkbeiner, who ordered the Marines out yesterday afternoon just minutes before their buses were to arrive.

“The mayor asked them to leave because they frighten people,” said Brian Schwartz, the mayor’s spokesman.

“He did not want them practicing and drilling in a highly visible area.”

So after a brief stop at a friendly base in Perrysburg Township, the Marines by early evening were back on their way home to Grand Rapids.

“I wish they would have told us this four hours ago,” Staff Sgt. Andre Davis said.

Sergeant Davis, who traveled ahead of the five-bus convoy, stepped from his vehicle into downtown about 3:20 p.m. and was told by a city employee that the mayor wanted him and his soldiers packed up and out by 6 p.m.
Members of the 1st Battalion, 24th Marines have trained periodically in downtown Toledo since at least 2004 and most recently in May, 2006.
Past exercises have involved mock gun fights, ambushes, and the firing of blank ammunition.
The Marines’ buses set a course for their battalion’s Weapons Company headquarters in Perrysburg Township as soon as they heard of the mayor’s decision.
The Reservists’ visit was no surprise to Toledo police, who Tuesday issued a news release to media outlets on behalf of the Marines that asked Toledoans not to be startled by the sight of camouflaged soldiers toting M16 rifles.
Police officers were awaiting the Marines’ arrival yesterday afternoon and had set up a roadblock at Madison Avenue and Huron Street.

“There was apparently a break in communication somewhere between the mayor and the police department,” Mr. Schwartz said.

“Where that break was, we don’t know yet.”

Maj. Jeffrey O’Neill, the company’s commanding officer, said he was disappointed by how events played out yesterday, especially because Toledo had been a gracious host for Marine exercises in the past.

“You can go to military ranges for live fire [exercises], but there’s no way to duplicate the urban jungle unless you actually train inside a city,” Major O’Neill said.

Mr. Schwartz said the Marines declined Mayor Finkbeiner’s alternative offer for them to practice their urban patrol tactics inside the former Jones Junior High School, 550 Walbridge Ave.
Major O’Neill said he was not aware of such an offer.
A pair of Marines spent the better part of yesterday setting up the Madison Building with generators, heaters, radios, and food to become the unit’s overnight headquarters.
After receiving the mayor’s request to leave, they began the task of moving the equipment back into an armored Humvee.
Lance Cpl. Brandon Bukrey-McCarty, 22, recalled taking part in the company’s 2006 urban patrol exercise in downtown Toledo.
He said he learned skills during that exercise that proved useful during the unit’s deployment to Fallujah, Iraq, in 2006-2007.

“It was extremely helpful,” Corporal Bukrey-McCarty said.

The training “got me used to looking up on rooftops, looking around every alley, every open door.”

Sergeant Davis and other company leaders estimated the total cost of the aborted training exercise, including travel, at roughly $10,000.
Before he left downtown for Perrysburg Township, Major O’Neill said he was not sure what type of training, if any, his unit could undertake without access to downtown Toledo.

“But we’re Marines,” Major O’Neill said. “We’ll adapt and overcome.”

Wild Thing’s comment……..
Next time the Mayor needs the military in Toledo, the military should just say “call code pink”.
This jerk Mayor also got into some hot water last summer for leaving his dog in his parked car for hours at a time, with heat indexes of 100+ degrees, with no water bowl or food inside the car.

Fred Thompson Backs McCain

Fred Thompson Backs McCain
Washingtonn Post
By Michael D. Shear
Fred Thompson, the one-time Republican presidential candidate, endorsed Sen. John McCain Friday, calling on the party to “close ranks” behind the presumed nominee.

“This is no longer about past preferences or differences. It is about what is best for our country and for me that means that Republican should close ranks behind John McCain,” Thompson said in a statement reported by the Associated Press.

Thompson’s endorsement was expected. The two men were colleagues for years in the Senate and shared what associates called a friendship. But while he was in the race, Thompson had bristled at the idea that he was going to drop out and endorse McCain.
The endorsement now may help McCain to coalesce the factions of the party around him. Thompson, who represented Tennessee in the Senate for eight years, is thought of well in the South, an area that McCain has not done well in.

Wild Thing’s comment……..
I was so hoping Thompson would sit this one out. sigh
Not that I’m thrilled…but if he had done this with Romney still in it would have been more disheartening. They are friends, but still Fred does disagree with McCain on the amnesty McCain desperately wanrts to pull off and other things as well.
What a mess all of this is! This is reminding me of the show “The Producers”. Each old lady was promised a 100% share of the profits.

Murtha: War funds in exchange for withdrawal

Murtha: War funds in exchange for withdrawal
Army Times ….for complete article
A top Democrat said Thursday he is preparing legislation that would give President Bush the war funding he wants this year, but on the condition that troops leave Iraq by the end of the year.
Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., chairman of the House defense appropriations subcommittee, said he’ll propose that the House vote this March on the spending measure. In addition to the troop withdrawal, he said he’ll ask for other conditions such as that all deploying troops must be fully trained and equipped.
Similar bills scraped by on party line votes in the House last year only to fail in the Senate, where Democrats hold a narrower margin of control and 60 votes are needed to overcome procedural hurdles.
Murtha, speaking to reporters following a speech to the Center for Strategic and International Studies, said he’s confident this bill would pass the House, but he’s not sure about the Senate.
Democratic leaders have said they believe the military has enough money to last through April. They also suggested they want to hear first from Army Gen. David Petraeus, the top commander in Iraq, before approving more money. He is expected to testify by mid April, likely the week of April 7.
Murtha’s comments suggest he is willing to give the military the money it needs, but he doesn’t want to wait for Petraeus before he starts the next round of anti-war votes.

“What I told General Petraeus is you can’t continue to spend money like he’s spending it over there,” Murtha said. “The public is fed up with it.”

Wild Thing’s comment……..
What a pathetic little man Murtha is, he presumes to speak for all Americans.
Um Murtha liar liar pants on fire or did you this time speak the truth who you spoke to?!
Murtha has lied before so saying he spoke to General Petraeus may or may not be true. If he did what a POS Murtha is to speak that way to General Petraeus, a man that lead the surge, that turned so many things around in Iraq. GRRRR
And the second thought is this, and again about Murtha?!
Regarding the Center for Strategic and International Studies.Murtha said he made his speech TO this place not AT this place. Dems do word things to get around possible lies sometimes. Just a thought….. hmmmmmmm
This is from Politico

“What’s a paltry one million dollars to a member of Congress?
Well, apparently not enough to know if an organization about to receive that big block of cash actually exists.
Republican Rep. Jeff Flake of Arizona, the fiscal crusader who’s never met an earmark he likes, questioned Democratic Rep. Peter J. Visclosky of Indiana on the House floor Tuesday about whether the Center for Instrumented Critical Infrastructure actually exists – since, hey, it’s getting like a million bucks or something.
Visclosky, who chairs the spending subcommittee responsible for the project, had to admit that, well, he didn’t have a clue.
After a lengthy back-and-forth, Flake, complaining that his staff couldn’t find a website for the center, asked Visclosky, “Does the center currently exist?”
“At this time, I do not know,” the Indiana Democrat replied. “But if it does not exist, the monies could not go to it.”
And who could possibly be the sponsor of such an earmark? Yes, you guessed it, the man Republicans love to hate, Pennsylvania Democrat John P. Murtha.
Despite the money’s uncertain destination, the House rejected Flake’s measure to strike the funds, 326-98. And the Visclosky bill also sailed through, 312-112.
As I said, what’s one million dollars to a member of Congress?
UPDATE: I failed to report last night that a certificate filed with the requested funds says the money is actually earmarked to Concurrent Technologies Corporation, a nonprofit technological consulting firm. A brief search of campaign finance records shows CTC President and CEO Daniel R. DeVos, of alternately Central City and Johnstown, Pa. has contributed $7,000 to Murtha’s reelection campaign since April 2002.”

Soooooo here is something for us to think about.
If a treasonist Congressman made remarks at a center that doesn’t exist, would anyone hear him?
