The Life-and-Death Cost of Gun Control

The Life-and-Death Cost of Gun Control
The FOX Forum
By John R. Lott, Jr.
Banning guns is in the news. India practically bans guns, but that didn’t stop the horrific Muslim terrorist attacks this last week.
A football player concerned for his safety violates New York City’s tough gun control regulations by carrying a concealed handgun, and people call for everything from banning NFL players from carrying guns to demanding that the athlete serve many years in jail.

When police can’t promise to protect law-abiding citizens such Plaxico Burress or the victims in India, why don’t we allow people the right to protect themselves?

Where is the sympathy or debate in either case over letting people defend themselves? Given that the terrorists smuggled their machine guns in with them, would anyone argue that India’s extremely strict gun licensing and artificially high prices for guns helped prevent the terrorist attacks? In fact, the reverse is more likely the case.
Would Plaxico Burress, the New York Giant’s receiver who was arrested yesterday, really have been safer just trusting the police to protect him?
Terrorism
In India, victims watched as armed police cowered and didn’t fire back at the terrorists. A photographer at the scene described his frustration: “There were armed policemen hiding all around the station but none of them did anything. At one point, I ran up to them and told them to use their weapons. I said, ‘Shoot them, they’re sitting ducks!’ but they just didn’t shoot back.”
Meanwhile, according to the hotel company’s chairman, P.R.S. Oberoi, security at “the hotel had metal detectors, but none of its security personnel carried weapons because of the difficulties in obtaining gun permits from the Indian government.”
India has extremely strict gun control laws, but who did it succeed in disarming?
The terrorist attack showed how difficult it is to disarm serious terrorists. Strict licensing rules meant that it was the victims who obeyed the regulations, not the terrorists.
Academic research has continually found that police are the single most important factor in reducing crime, but police can’t always be depended on to be quick enough.
The attack also illustrates what Israelis learned decades ago. — Putting more soldiers or police on the street didn’t stop terrorist’s machine gun attacks. Terrorists would either wait for the armed soldiers or police to leave the area or kill them first. Likewise, in India, the Muslim terrorists’ first targets were those in uniform (whether police or security guards).
Terrorists only stopped using machine guns to attack Israelis once citizens were allowed to carry concealed handguns. In large public gatherings, a significant number of citizens will be able to shoot at terrorists during an attack — and the terrorists don’t know who has them.
With mass shootings becoming more difficult, terrorists were forced to switch to a less effective strategy: bombs. Bombings are more difficult for armed citizens to stop because they can’t respond after the bomb blows up.
Still, even though handguns can only kill would-be bombers before they set off their bombs, during waves of terror attacks, Israel’s national police chief will call on all citizens who are allowed to carry guns to make sure they carry their firearms at all times, and Israelis have many examples where citizens with concealed handguns have saved lives.
In their warped minds, both terrorists and the murderers are kamikaze-like killers, who value maximizing the carnage. Even if the killers expect to die anyway, letting victims have guns at the scene can help deter these crimes in the first place by reducing their expected return.
Do Football Players Need Self-Defense?
Physically huge NFL players admitting they feel threatened by crime? This hardly fits their tough, macho image. Our concern is supposed to be for women walking alone at night. Who can have sympathy for a professional football player such as Plaxico Burress who is 6 feet 5 inches and weighs 232 lbs.?
Burress, who has no previous criminal record, now faces between three and a half to 15 years for illegally carrying a concealed handgun with him in Manhattan, if convicted. He was arrested Monday and was released on $100,000 bail. — Burress had had a concealed handgun permit in the state of Florida for the last five years, but he forgot to renew it in May this year.
While the massive size and strength of NFL players might make them seem like unlikely potential crime victims, their wealth and high public profile nonetheless make them particularly attractive targets for violent criminals.
Last year, the Washington Redskins’ Sean Taylor was killed during a robbery at his house. The Denver Broncos’ defensive back Darrent Williams was killed outside a nightclub.
As Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Ronde Barber noted, “We are targets, we need to be aware of that everywhere we go.” Yet, the news coverage doesn’t engender much sympathy for Plaxico Burress.
So, what do many NFL players do when they realize that their physical strength does not give them enough protection from violent crime? The same thing that many other would-be victims do — they get guns. Well over 50 percent of NFL players are estimated to own guns, somewhat higher than the 45 percent of American adults who own guns.

Not everyone approves. Mike Ditka, the Hall of Fame tight end and former Chicago Bears football coach, advocates banning NFL players from owning guns. Ditka said, “I don’t understand the league, why can anybody have a gun? I will have a policy, no guns, any NFL players we find out, period, you’re suspended.” AOL Sports writer Michael Smith also supports the ban and says, “If you carry a gun around, you’re more likely to hurt yourself than protect yourself.”

It would be great if the police were always there to rescue would-be victims, but as the police themselves understand, they virtually always arrive on the scene after the crime has already occurred. Fortunately, just as criminals are deterred by higher arrest rates or longer prison sentences, the fact that potential victims own guns deters some attackers. The Department of Justice’s National Crime Victimization Survey, which covers almost 30 years, also shows that having a gun is consistently by far the safest course of action for victims.
Over the last three or four years, numerous professional players can attest to the benefits of owning guns. For example, Corey Fuller, the 5-foot, 10-inch, 210-pound defensive back for the Baltimore Ravens, was confronted by two armed robbers outside his Tallahassee house. One robber chased Fuller into his house where his wife and children were sleeping, but Fuller was able to grab a gun and fire at the attackers, who then ran away.
* T.J. Slaughter, a 6-foot, 233-pound linebacker, was arrested for allegedly pointing a gun at motorists who pulled up next to him on the highway. Slaughter denied that he had pointed the gun at the motorists and claimed that they had threatened him. No charges were filed, though, possibly following Dikta’s rule, the Jacksonville Jaguars still cut Slaughter the next day. Jacksonville claimed Slaughter was performing poorly.
Professional athletes’ physical strength hardly makes them immune to crime. Take a couple additional examples.
* The Oakland Raiders’ Javon Walker (height: 6-3, weight: 215 lbs.) was robbed and beaten this past June while visiting Las Vegas. He was hospitalized with a concussion and facial injuries.
* The Houston Texans’ Dunta Robinson (height: 5-10, weight: 184 lbs.) was robbed by two men in his home a year ago. The robbers bound him with duct tape and stole jewelry.
Unfortunately all of the nation’s four leading pro-sports leagues — the National Football League, the National Basketball Association, the National Hockey League and Major League Baseball — trivialize the athletes’ concerns over safety. The NFL’s official advice: “In some circumstances, such as for sport or protection, you may legally possess a firearm or other weapon. However, we strongly recommend that you not do so.” The league advocates passive behavior when confronted by a criminal.
* Fred Taylor (height: 6-1, weight: 228) a running back with the Jacksonville Jaguars made the point clear: “League officials tell us we need to take measures to protect ourselves. But the NFL says we can’t have guns in the facility –even in the parking lot. Crooks know this. They can just sit back and wait for us to drive off, knowing we won’t have anything in our vehicle from point A to point B.”

Even professional athletes are not supermen. T.J. Slaughter expresses no regrets for having a gun despite running afoul of political correctness and being cut by the Jaguars. He says, “I believe legally owning a gun is the right thing to do. It offers me protection. I think one day it could save my life.” It seems a lesson that many who are not quite as strong can also learn from.

Toys R Us
The media can’t be blamed for some of the left out information and misimpressions about guns. For example, the news coverage over the weekend about a shooting at a Toys R Us in Palm Desert, California gave the wrong impression about guns. It seemed the perfect fit –- two couples squabbling over who would get a toy resulting in a deadly shoot out. Surely this demonstrated the dangers of letting people have guns for self defense.
But political correctness made it difficult for local authorities to even admit a simple and important fact — the two couples were members of rival gangs. As Palm Desert city councilman Bob Spiegel told The L.A. Times, there were apparently “two rival groups shopping at the store.” Even stories that mentioned the gangs often left the mention until the end.
Unfortunately, commentators at places such as the Huffington Post confuse letting gang members and law-abiding citizens carry guns. As one remarked: “does anybody still think concealed weapons laws are a good idea?” But in contrast to gang members, data for states like Florida or Texas indicate that concealed handgun permit holders lose their permits for any gun-related violation at hundredths or thousandths of one percent and even then usually for very trivial, non-threatening violations.
Conclusion
When police can’t promise to protect law-abiding citizens such Plaxico Burress or the victims in India, why don’t we allow people the right to protect themselves? Unfortunately, bans do more to encourage crime than prevent it.

Russian Newspaper Online PRAVDA -“Barack,The Amazing Mr. Obama”

Barack, The Amazing Mr. Obama
PRAVDA
PRAVDA is a Russian newspaper and this is the online version
In the upper right corner of their website it is possible to click on the various languages for easy reading ( English, Russian , Italian and PT)
By Mark S. McGrew
Barack Obama is truly an amazing man, with many amazing friends. He has succeeded where countless others have failed. And he has also succeeded where many before him have succeeded with the same time honored methods.
He has managed to create an illusion of a Public Office that does not exist, The Office of the President Elect.
Barry Sotero, AKA Barack Obama, along with the Democratic National Committee and the Federal Election Commission have successfully ignored a Federal Lawsuit asking him to produce a valid Birth Certificate. When the time to respond to that lawsuit expired, under Federal Court Rules, they all admitted that he was not a citizen of The United States of America and deemed to have committed fraud. A normal man would have been found to have admitted he was not a US citizen.
But the man with no visible past, was blessed by a light shining from above on a Federal Judge, by having the lawsuit against him dismissed, three weeks after his non-response was proof that he is not a US citizen.
That lawsuit has since been taken to the US Supreme Court, where Obama, the Democratic National Committee and the Federal Election Commission have until December 1, 2008 to answer the complaint made against them.
Another lawsuit by another attorney against him to prove he is a US citizen has been scheduled for a conference of Justices of the US Supreme Court on December 5, 2008.
Full documentation of the Philip Berg lawsuit can be seen here at ObamaCrimes.com and a copy of a full page ad regarding this in the Washington Times can be seen here.
A full page ad in the Chicago Tribune, asking Obama to prove his citizenship can be seen here.
Other lawsuits landed in the Supreme Court of The United States can be seen here.
Alan Keyes, a Presidential candidate has also filed a lawsuit in California Supreme Court to not certify the California Electors of the US Electoral College until Obama can prove that he is a US citizen. It is those Electors who decide who shall be President of the United States of America on December 15, 2008. Can be seen here.
Barack Obama promised people what they wanted: Hope and Change, without ever saying what that hope and change were going to be. One of Obama’s much praised abilities is his way of being very articulate in his speeches.
Every con man walking free or in jail is an articulate speaker. Who would give their trust to a man who could not use the right words to convince his targets to trust him? Articulate speaking is no way to judge or rate the integrity of a person.
Every con game uses three ingredients against the target: Sell the dream. Push the greed button. Stress urgency.
Obama sold the dream of hope and change so desperately wanted by the American voters. He pushed the greed button by promising to take from the rich to give to the poor. And he stressed urgency by himself and his wife telling voters to vote early.
Another final nail in the coffin a con man uses against his targets is “The Jack Call”. After your sucker has committed himself to buying your offer, but has not sent the check, the con man calls him with “Good news!!!” and constantly re-sells his target until the check has cleared and the funds are in the con man’s bank account.
The non-existent Office of the President Elect is the Jack Call. The constant news shots of his “involvement and concern” in national and world issues are the repeated Jack Calls.
It remains to be seen if Barry Sotero, Barack Obama or whatever his name is, is appointed President by the Electoral College.
The only “Certificate of Birth” that he has produced is not a Birth Certificate. It is a Certificate of Live Birth, which any foreign citizen can obtain by simply showing up at the Vital Records department of the State of Hawaii and showing the original Birth Certificate from the original birth place, regardless of what country the birth took place in. Forensic records experts have stated that the document Obama produced on his web site is a forgery.
The only comment made by the Hawaii Department of Vital Records is that they “Have seen the original Birth Certificate”. They never once have said he was born in Hawaii.
None of these lawsuits and suspicions mean as much as the fact that Obama can easily dispel all the legal actions and mistrust by simply producing a valid Birth Certificate. It matters not in the least that he has not proven his attendance at Harvard and Columbia University. It does not matter that any number of claims about his past and his experience have not been validated.
The only thing that matters is that he refuses to produce a valid Birth Certificate and instead spends thousands of dollars on attorneys and defies Federal lawsuits and State lawsuits asking him to produce one single piece of paper that most every citizen of every nation of the world has easy and rapid access to.
But beyond all of that controversy, there is one subject in this man’s activities that is truly astounding: There is absolutely no proof whatsoever that his beloved grandmother actually died on the day before the election as his campaign said she did. He said he would attend her funeral “In a few days”. He never did. Then he said he would have a funeral for her around the end of the year. What kind of person keeps their grandmother’s body on ice for two months? What kind of a person would play on the death of his grandmother to win “the sympathy vote”? Where is the proof that she died when she said she did? Normally, we could simply learn from the local coroner of a well known person’s death. But the only public comment made by the Honolulu Medical Examiner, who acts as coroner in Honolulu, Hawaii was, “We didn’t work that case.”
Barack Obama may just win his place in history as the greatest con man of all time. A hundred million people believed him and spent 600 million dollars to get him “elected” to the highest office in America, without ever knowing if he is or is not eligible to even run as an American citizen. It is either amazing that he will pull it off or it is amazing that so many millions of people believed him.
If the Electoral College appoints him as President of The United States of America on December 15, 2008 and Congress ratifies that choice, and it is later proven that he is not a US citizen, then not one single word he utters will be valid as representing this country. The Courts, our police, our military will have no duty to obey anything he signs. It is also possible that certain people, who were part of and promoted the con, may be charged with Treason.
And if he does prove that he is a US citizen the questions remain: Why did he fight so long and so hard to not show that simple, single piece of paper when asked? Why would a man subject so many citizens of his country and leaders of other nations to such mistrust?

WOW, we need to get the News from Pravda now? Unfrikin real.
Pravda is more objective than the NY Times, WPO, CNN, FOX, ABC. CBS, NBC, MSNBC, LA Times, etc! Amazing and disgusting at the same time. I NEVER thought I would see the day where Pravda is a source of truthful information. Meanwhile our weasel’s in the Media continue to try to control information. The world is truly upside down these days.

I hate to say it, but this is one of the best analyses of the phenomenon I have read anywhere.
This may be an early indication of the disrespect of the questionable legitimacy of the US President-elect internationally.
And the deceased Grandma thing is creepy too.

The Mission Of Our Awesome Troops At Guantanamo Bay

Guards patrol inside Joint Task Force Guantanamo’s Camp Six, Aug. 25. Camp Six is a maximum security facility which is modeled after a stateside federal prison. JTF Guantanamo conducts safe, humane, legal and transparent care and custody of detained enemy combatants, including those convicted by military commission and those ordered released. The JTF conducts intelligence collection, analysis and dissemination for the protection of detainees and personnel working in JTF Guantanamo facilities and in support of the Global War on Terror. JTF Guantanamo provides support to the Office of Military Commissions, to law enforcement and to war crimes investigations. The JTF conducts planning for and, on order, responds to Caribbean mass migration operations.

Our Mission Remains the Same
Story by Sgt. 1st Class Vaughn Larson
GUANTANAMO BAY, Cuba
The incoming administration promised to close down Joint Task Force Guantanamo’s detainee operations during its presidential campaign, and news outlets regularly report about how those plans are proceeding and what changes may be required.
As the transition of White House policies commences, the commander of the JTF urged troopers here to focus on the mission at hand and not on speculation.

“There’s a lot of uncertainty about the future,” acknowledged Navy Rear Adm. David M. Thomas, Jr. “That can be cancerous to our organization.”

He allowed that the detainee camps will close – someday.

“Of course we’re going to close detainee operations,” Thomas said. “Both [presidential] candidates said we would. The challenge is how.

“I’m on two-year orders, and I’m six months into them,” he continued. “People who show up here will do their full tours – that would be my bet.”

As part of a presentation the admiral plans to give to every JTF trooper in the coming days, Thomas dispelled common myths about the mission here – and quelled the rumors about the future of Guantanamo Bay.

“There’s a whole lot more to Guantanamo than JTF,” he said, noting that this is the longest-serving overseas U.S. Naval base.

Thomas also responded to questions of legality – for example, a recent New York Times editorial referred to detainee operations here as an “outlaw prison” – by stating that the mission here is in accordance with international law, U.S. law and Department of Defense policies.
Part of the JTF mission is to support the military commissions.

“We don’t run those procedures,” he admitted. “Love ‘em or hate ‘em, it’s part of a broader policy. It’s the right discussion to be having.”

Claims from detainees of medical abuse? “Nothing could be further from the truth,” the admiral said. “You could not buy the quality of health care given to detainees.”

Thomas showed an image of Camp X-Ray, where detained enemy combatants were initially held in 2002 during a four-month period while permanent facilities were constructed.

“These are not the conditions today,” he stressed. “We have world-class facilities, and we continue to refine them.”

The approximately 250 detainees here today are housed in modern facilities based on federal Bureau of Prisons standards, Thomas explained.

“It’s just as you would expect from your government,” he said.

Thomas devoted much time and energy dispelling the myth of improper detainee treatment, and he praised the integrity of the guards here. He noted that guards interact with detainees on a regular basis.

“There is no remote-control activity here,” he said. “It’s person-to-person, and it’s stressful.”

The JTF commander said that guards perform their duties flawlessly, even without constant direct supervision.

“These are your kids – they’re my kids,” Thomas said of the guards, who average between 18 and 24 years in age. “They’re your neighbors’ kids, just doing their job here at Gitmo. People doing a very difficult job under extraordinary circumstances, and doing it well.”

Wild Thing’s comment……
God bless our troops at Guantanamo Bay. It is such a perfect base for what they need to do there. I wish so much they would not close it.

Electoral College Scam: Where dead people vote! HUH?

The Constitutional Convention in 1787

Electoral College scam: Where dead people vote
wnd
Lawyer challenging eligibility seeks investigation of process
A lawyer playing a major part in a California lawsuit urging officials to prevent the state’s 55 Electoral College votes from being recorded for Barack Obama until questions about his citizenship are resolved has written to county clerks around the state, seeking an investigation into a process that has allowed a dead woman to be listed as an official elector.
According to Gary Kreep, executive director of the United States Justice Foundation, the clerks have been advised about the “irregularity” in the list of electors provided by the Democratic Party in California.
“In the 28th Congressional District (Congressman Howard Berman), situated in Los Angeles County, Ilene Huber is listed as the presidential elector designated in that district. However, as shown in the attached certified statement of Dean C. Logan, registrar-recorder/county clerk of the county of Los Angeles, state of California, there is no Ilene Huber listed as a registered voter in the County of Los Angeles. A statewide search of public records has revealed only one Ilene Huber in the state of California, and she is deceased-a copy of her certificate of death is attached hereto as well,” the advisory said.

“Further, according to Chris Myers, director of research for the California Democratic Party, who submitted the list of presidential electors for the Democratic Party to the office of the California secretary of state, there are additional, undisclosed, ‘errors’ in the list of electors. This admission was made in a telephone conversation with a representative of the American Independent Party on or about November 20, 2008,” the letter continued.

“It is therefore respectfully suggested to you that an investigation be made by each of your respective offices into the accuracy and validity of the list of presidential electors submitted for the ballot in your respective counties. It is believed that an attempt will be made to ‘revise’ the list of such electors so that those named individuals that were selected by the voters will be replaced by other names. Such ‘revisions’ will, in all likelihood, result in litigation being filed to challenge such attempts to alter the ballot post election, and may result in your county being included as a defendant therein,” it said.

Kreep said the integrity of elections in the U.S. needs to be maintained, or “the vote of the people becomes merely something that can be ignored by those who hold the reins of political power at the moment.”
Kreep previously told WND that because of the lack of proof of Obama’s U.S. citizenship and the consequent questions over his ability to meet the Constitution’s requirement that only a “natural born citizen” can be president, the Obama administration will be considered by some to be fraudulent.
“We will file lawsuits on his actions, every time. As long as we have money , we will keep filing lawsuits until we get a decision as to his citizenship status,” he previously told WND. “We’re already talking to groups who are willing to be plaintiffs.”

Wild Thing’s comment……….
Oh great – The dumbocrats are so stupid that they even elect dead people to elect illegal people to get money for more illegal people to vote.
So this is the “Chicago Way”. Or is it better known as the Democrat way.

The idea of the Electoral College was formed during the Constitutional Convention in 1787. The delegates to the convention worried how to balance the power between the smaller states and larger states and between the state governments and the federal government. (Although we often forget it, the United States is still a union of states who all want to be adequately represented.)

Early on, each member of the Electoral College would cast two votes for president. The runner-up would win the vice presidency. In the case of a tie, the vote was sent to the Congress.

Things quickly got complicated in the election of 1796 when the president and vice president came from separate parties and platforms, and in 1800 when it was tie but both candidates were hated by their parties.

The 12th Amendment — passed in 1804 — added that the Electoral College must vote for one president and one vice president.

Created in 1787 to balance power between small and large states, the Electoral College has had a profound effect on presidential elections, leading candidates to focus on so-called battleground states instead of winning over the most total voters.

When voters cast their ballots, they’re actually selecting electors set up by each state who are pledged to one of the candidates selected in primaries or other contests.

In total, there are 538 Electoral College members: states are allotted a vote for each of their two senators, each House representative (depends on population), plus three votes for the District of Columbia. The electors never gather together – instead meeting in their respective state capitals on the “first Monday after the second Wednesday in December” to symbolically carry out the vote.

A Little Gun History Lesson

A Little Gun History Lesson
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.
China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million ‘educated’ people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million.
It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in: Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!
In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns! It will never happen here? I bet the Aussies said that too! While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.
There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australia n society of guns. The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it. You won’t see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information.
Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens.
The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind him of this history lesson.
With Guns……. .. ….We Are ‘Citizens’.
Without Them…….. We Are ‘Subjects’.
During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED!
Note: Admiral Yamamoto who crafted the attack on Pearl Harbor had attended Harvard U 1919-1921 & was Naval Attaché to the U. S. 1925-28. Most of our Navy was destroyed at Pearl Harbor & our Army had been deprived of funding & was ill prepared to defend the country.
It was reported that when asked why Japan did not follow up the Pearl Harbor attack with an invasion of the U. S. Mainland, his reply was that he had lived in the U. S. & knew that almost all households had guns.

I am in LOVE, this photo of this adorable puppy. I want to hug the puppy so badly. giggle Hope you all enjoy it too. What a marvelous way to start the day.
My parents had a St.Bernard when I was born and I grew up with them. We always had a lot of animals, kitties , dogs, horses, etc. But always one of the dogs was a St. Bernard. When I went out on my own I kept up the tradition up until the last year before we moved from California to Florida. My last Saint passed away, and we stayed with the smaller dogs due to the hot summers here in Florida. But I still would love to get another one someday. The hard part is they seldom live past 8 years old. So of course I do my best to spoil them rotten giggle.

Sarah is awesome and she is not done yet. ( big smile) Thanks to Sarah!
Liberals hate her because she threatens what “they think” they stand for and as for the women ( mostly democrats) that hate her , it is because she has a loving family, is pro-life, attractive etc. and has worked her way up from the bottom so to speak. Everything that is sweetness and goodness is what they despise because they are just empty souls wandering around this planet aimlessly.

Lots of Love for Palin in Georgia

Lots of Love for Palin in Georgia
by Amanda Carpenter
Townhall
More than 3,000 Atlanta metro residents turned out to see their GOP Sen. Saxby Chambliss campaign with Republican rockstar Sarah Palin this afternoon at the Gwinnet Arena.
I had the chance to stop by and see the event since it was on the way home from a long Thanksgiving weekend in Auburn, Alabama with my fiance’s family.
Chambliss may have had top billing at the campaign stop for his run-off election against Democrat Jim Martin, but there was no doubt the crowd was there for his stumping partner Palin. Even Sen. Chambliss seemed a little amazed at the size. He relished the attention, waving both arms in the air to greet everyone.
Hundreds of young girls came to the arena. Many carriied news magazines with Palin on the cover for her autograph after the event. “Sarah 2012!” was a common refrain and a popular sign. One girl even dressed in a pageant sash and tiara, a nod to the former beauty queen on stage. The young Palin fan held a huge poster that read “Gov. Palin, can I please have photo op?”
In her speech, Palin stuck to red meat themes: reform, energy independence, the war on terror, guns and life. And, she was gracious to her former running mate, John McCain, praising him repeatedly.
Palin reassured the crowd “commensense, pro-working class, conservative values” were still strong in America despite the McCain-Palin 2008 loss. “Losing an election does not mean losing our way,” she said.
The Alaskan Governor did not attack Democratic President-elect Barack Obama as she often did on the campaign trail. She did emphasize at one point, however, it would be “ludicous” to raise taxes given the current economic environment that had been officially labeled a recession by economists earlier that afternoon.
The entire event lasted roughly 50 minutes, including the prayer and Pledge of Allegience. Palin was mobbed by the crowd after it closed.
As this reporter was walking out, a man drove up to me who had rushed home from work to catch the event. He asked if everything was over. I said yes it had ended, but Palin was signing autographs when I walked out. Before I could finish my sentence he gave me a brisk “Thank you!” and zoomed towards the arena.

Harry Reid: “We won’t smell the tourists anymore”

Harry Reid Doesn’t Like Smelly Tourists

DC Examiner
The Capitol Visitors Center, which opened this morning, may have tripled its original budget and fallen years behind schedule, but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid found a silver lining for members of Congress: tourists won’t offend them with their B.O. anymore.
“My staff tells me not to say this, but I’m going to say it anyway,” said Reid in his remarks. “In the summer because of the heat and high humidity, you could literally smell the tourists coming into the Capitol. It may be descriptive but it’s true.”
But it’s no longer going to be true, noted Reid, thanks to the air conditioned, indoor space.
And that’s not all. “We have many bathrooms here, as you can see,” Reid continued. “Souvenirs are available.”
$621 million well spent.

LOL oh Harry what are we going to do with you. If a Republican had said this the MSM would be having a hissy fit.
There’s a far worse stench originating in the halls of power. I smell corruption and treason.

Just Asking News

Make the media cover the story of the century
wnd
One of the most often asked questions regarding whether or not Barack Obama meets the constitutional requirements for the office of president is: “Why hasn’t the ‘mainstream’ media covered this?” Good question.
Well, one thing we found out in the last election is there isn’t anything “mainstream” about the “mainstream” media. There is no longer any doubt about their pro-Obama bias – even the Washington Post came out and admitted it. If it weren’t for WorldNetDaily, a few radio talk shows and some blogs, we wouldn’t even know about the constitutional crisis we’re in. Interestingly, these are the first things on the chopping block in an unchecked Obama administration.
We’re not asking for the world here. Neither is the Constitution. Some pretty basic requirements like being 35 years old, having 14 years residency in the United States, and being a natural born citizen. When Sen. John McCain was questioned about it, he showed his birth certificate without hesitating. When Barack Obama was asked by courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, he ducked and hid behind the right to privacy.
Ironically, when Obama was running for the Illinois Senate, he won by disqualifying every candidate who ran against him in the primary, including a guy who had been through a nasty and salacious divorce. Even though he had a small child who could be hurt by the information being made public, a court decided that the public’s “right to know” outweighed this poor fella’s right to privacy, and he backed out. Obama clings to the “right to privacy” regarding his own qualifications, just not his opponents.
The second most-asked question about Obama’s citizenship is: “Don’t you think someone would have found out the answer to these questions before now?” Also an outstanding question. Phil Berg, whose case is now before the U.S. Supreme Court, not only filed suit in August but also copied Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean on the matter before Obama was chosen as the nominee. I would have thought that something as important as whether a potential nominee is qualified to serve in office might be worth a question or two prior to the party’s selection. But that information was ignored, and now they’re just hoping it will all go away.
It won’t. Not until Obama comes forward with the proof that the American people want and the Constitution demand.
It is up to you of course, if want to you can go to the site where they have a petition.

Wild Thing’s comment…….
Obama has spent over a million dollars defending himself and getting these cases thrown out, and a birth certificate costs $10. It makes him look guilty, extremely guilty. It’s the equivalent of “taking the 5th”, protecting himself from self-incrimination.
Obama seeks to, in his own words, “break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution.”
Clinton did not provide his medical record in all his 8 years as President, and Kerry refused to open his military records. But the thing is…… neither Clinton nor Kerry were challenged to where it went to the Supreme Court. And this Friday, Dec. 5th, the Supreme Court will be looking at Leo Donofrio’s case and Cort Wrotnowski’s case . It only takes four of the nine Justices to say yes to fully hearing Leo’s case.
He is a member of an American hating Socialist social club that naively wants to do something exciting and historic, like destroy our constitution. They don’t know the hell they would release.
The left see the Constitution as a “living document”. This means the pick and choose what parts of it they will follow based on their agenda.
One of the things that Michelle 0bama supposedly said in her rant to African Press International (API) was that “no law would stop her husband from becoming President”. If the tape is valid, then it proves she and Hussein both knew that was ineligible and foreshadows their intent to circumvent The Constitution.

“Our government and leaders must still be answerable to the US Constitution and to the citizens of this nation. That is where the fear breeds. If there is a government that exists outside of the checks and balances set in place by our founding fathers and outlined in the constitution, then the freedoms we believe in are made a charade. ” quote by Ollie North
