Attorney for Terri Schiavo’s Husband Now Advising Obama

Attorney Who Aided Terri Schiavo’s Husband Now Advising Barack Obama
Life News.com
An attorney who won an award for representing Terri Schiavo’s husband Michael in his efforts to kill his disabled wife is now an advisor to the transition team of incoming president Barack Obama.
Thomas Perrelli, who raised over $500,000 for the pro-abortion presidential candidate and is the managing partner of a Washington law firm, Jenner & Block LLP, is helping advise Obama on putting together a Justice Department team.
However, Perrelli provided Michael Schiavo with legal advice during his response to the Congressional bill that President Bush signed allowing the Schindler family to take their lawsuit seeking to prevent Terri’s euthanasia death from state to federal courts.
Perrelli led the Jenner & Block team that developed the legal briefs opposing appeals for Michael and he ultimately received the Albert E. Jenner, Jr. Pro Bono Award in October 2006 for representing Terri’s former husband at no cost.
On Michael’s legal team, Perrelli worked with infamous pro-euthanasia attorney George Felos as well as lawyers from the Florida chapter of the ACLU.
Obama’s selection of Perrelli to participate on his Justice Department transition team is no surprise given his comments on Terri’s painful 13-day starvation and dehydration death during the presidential campaign.
During his debate with Hillary Clinton in the Democratic presidential primary, Obama said his biggest mistake was voting with a unanimous Senate to help save Terri.
In March 2005, just weeks before Terri died, Congress approved legislation allowing her family to take its case from state courts to federal courts in an effort to stop the euthanasia from proceeding.
Terri was not on any artificial breathing apparatus and only required a feeding tube to eat and drink. Her family had filed a lawsuit against her former husband to allow them to care for her and give her proper medical and rehabilitative care.
The Senate unanimously approved a compromise bill, which the House eventually supported on a lopsided bipartisan vote and President Bush signed, to help the disabled woman.
Obama said he should have stood up against the life-saving legislation.

“It wasn’t something I was comfortable with, but it was not something that I stood on the floor and stopped,” Obama said.

“And I think that was a mistake, and I think the American people understood that that was a mistake. And as a constitutional law professor, I knew better,” he added.

That wasn’t the first time Obama said he regretted supporting the bill to protect the disabled woman.

During an April 2007 debate, Obama said, “I think professionally the biggest mistake that I made was when I first arrived in the Senate. There was a debate about Terri Schiavo, and a lot of us, including me, left the Senate with a bill that allowed Congress to intrude where it shouldn’t have.”

“And I think I should have stayed in the Senate and fought more for making sure [Terri’s parents couldn’t take their case to federal court to save her life],” he explained

.
Since Terri’s death, the Schindler family has established a foundation to help disabled and elderly patients obtain proper medical care and legal and other assistance when they are denied it.

Wild Thing’s comment………
Birds of a feather flock together, no that is mean to beautiful birds. I should have said, satan’s demons do stick together. A person is known by the friends they keep. Obama surrounds himself with infernal people.
Obama is a death monger, his stance on abortion is pure evil how it is ok with him to kill a baby that some how with God’s help manages to stay a live from an abortion, to his stance on Terri Schiavo. A true Muslim that has no respect for life.
Kill a woman, kill a country. Thanks braindead voters, thanks so much.sheesh
I wonder if Obama’s grandmother in Hawaii was on feeding tubes when Obama and his lawyers went to visit her right before she died. Few deaths are ever that convenient. And I have to wonder if he was getting worried about her saying something regarding his mom or the birth certificate. Just curious more then anything. I am not sure but I think it takes about 10 days to die of die from dehydration and isn’t that what happens when they take a person off the feeding tubes????
There is a coldness with Obama, even in his personality, he has NONE. He has as much personality as a door knob.
“And I think that was a mistake, and I think the American people understood that that was a mistake. And as a constitutional law professor, I knew better,”

There is another detail among his truly evil actions, but as I understand it he NEVER was a professor but an instructor or teachers aid. He lies about everything. The fact that the Constitution does not directly address murder does not make murder Constitutional.
Keep praying, and keep watch.

Carter Loves Hamas and Ahmed Yousef, Hamas’ Chief Loves Obama

Carter: Hamas putting eggs in Obama basket
Terrorist group has high expectations for incoming Democrat administration
wnd
By Aaron Klein
TEL AVIV
Hamas is putting all its eggs in the basket of President-elect Barack Obama, according to former president Jimmy Carter, who met with the chiefs of the terror group in Syria last week.

“Like the Syrians, they (Hamas) are patient, relatively satisfied with the status quo, and putting all their eggs in Obama’s basket. We had to caution them about expecting too much of an immediate change in U.S. Middle East policy,” Carter wrote in a first-person report posted on his Carter Center website.

Carter recounted how on the anniversary of Hamas’ founding, he met last week in Damascus with Hamas chieftain Khaled Meshaal “and his fellow Hamas politburo members, all of whom are scientists, medical doctors, or engineers – none trained in religion.”

A senior Israeli security official who was made aware of Carter’s description of Meshaal and other top Hamas members as “scientists, medical doctors, or engineers,” said such descriptions were “simply outrageous apologies for evil.”
The official pointed out there is strong evidence Meshaal, who heads an active terrorist organization, repeatedly directly has ordered numerous Hamas terror attacks over the years, and, until Hamas took over the Gaza Strip in 2007, Meshaal controlled the flow of money for all Hamas activities, including terrorism and the group’s vast civilian infrastructure in Gaza and the West Bank.

Carter continued by stating that he discussed with Meshaal “items on my agenda that included an extension of the cease-fire in Gaza.”

About an hour after he met with Carter last Sunday, Meshaal announced at a press conference that Hamas would not renew the cease-fre.

“There will be no renewal of the ‘calm’ after it expires,” Meshaal told reporters. But then a Hamas spokesman in Gaza announced no official decision to end the truce had been reached.

Hamas, responsible for scores of suicide bombings, shootings and rocket attacks, officially is listed as a terrorist organization by the U.S. State Department. Hamas’ charter calls for the murder of Jews and destruction of Israel.
Last month, a top Hamas official in Gaza sparked controversy after he claimed Hamas held a meeting in the Gaza Strip several months ago with aides to Obama. He claimed the terror group was asked to keep the contacts secret until after last month’s elections. The charge was strongly denied by Obama’s transition team.
Ahmed Yousef, Hamas’ chief political adviser in Gaza, claimed to the leading Al-Hayat Arabic-language newspaper Hamas maintained regular communication with Obama aides that even continued during the past week.

“We were in contact with a number of Obama’s aides through the Internet, and later met with some of them in Gaza, but they advised us not to come out with any statements, as they may have a negative effect on his election campaign and be used by Republican candidate John McCain (to attack Obama),” Yousuf told Al-Hayat.

Yousef gave WND a series of recent interviews in which he praised Obama as the leading candidate. Days after last month’s U.S. presidential elections, he called Obama’s win a “historic victory” for the world and told WND that Hamas was sending a letter of congratulation to the president-elect.

Yousef seemed aware his comments may generate some negative publicity for Obama, but he said he feels it important to “reach out and to express our thoughts and engage.”

“I praised him six months ago, some people tried to use that against him. But I knew he would win. Like everyone else, we expected this important victory,” he said.

Yousef was referring to an interview he gave to WND and WABC Radio in April in which he praised Obama and then found his comments had fueled a firestorm of accusations in the presidential campaign.
In April, Yousef stated he hoped Obama would become president, comparing the Illinois senator to President John F. Kennedy.

“We like Mr. Obama, and we hope that he will win the election,” Yousef told WND at the time.

“I hope Mr. Obama and the Democrats will change the political discourse. … I do believe [Obama] is like John Kennedy, a great man with a great principle. And he has a vision to change America to make it in a position to lead the world community, but not with humiliation and arrogance,” Yousef said.

Wild Thing’s comment……..
Carter the traitor, anti-semite just can’t stay out of this kissing up to the Hamas. I wonder whatever happened to the Democrat Senator ( I forgot the name, it was a woman) an she wanted to pull Carter’s passport. I was shocked it was one of the Democrats, but actually that is the side of the isle it would need to come from. Even so not enough people wanted to do that to Carter so it never went anywhere.
His passport should be pulled and he should be punished somehow for his actions and statements he has been making now for years. He is a dangerous man.

The Education of Ted Turner

The Education of Ted Turner
Front Page Magazine
By Humberto Fontova
During a December 10 Fox News interview with Bill O’Reilly, cable television tycoon Ted Turner, a longtime admirer of Fidel Castro, made the astonishing claim that Castro’s Stalinist regime never killed anyone.

O’REILLY: Fidel Castro, do you admire the man?

TURNER: Yes.

O’REILLY: Now, he has murdered people. He’s imprisoned people. There are political prisoners now. He won’t let his people use the Internet. Nobody can use that. And you admire the guy?

TURNER: Well, I admire certain things about him. He’s trained a lot of doctors, and they’ve got one of the best educational systems in the developing world. And you know, he’s still popular with a lot of people down there…

O’ REILLY: But he’s a killer. He’s a killer. He’s a guy who…

TURNER: But that has never, to my knowledge, that’s never been proven. I mean…

O’REILLY: He’s executed political prisoners. I mean, he enslaves people who don’t see it the way he sees it. Come on. He runs a dictatorship.

Even the Cuban revolution’s most die-hard apologists have never made so transparently preposterous a claim, and for good reason. According to the Black Book of Communism, 14,000 men and boys had been executed in Cuba by 1964 – the equivalent of more than 3 million executions in the United States. Yet the communist’s defenders continue to march. “VIVA CHE! VIVA FIDEL!” bellowed Jesse Jackson while arm-in-arm with Fidel Castro at the University of Havana in 1984. (Jesse Jackson, by the way, wrote a book condemning capital punishment.)
Indeed, like al-Qaeda generations later, mass murder (often in public), was always key to the Communist quest for and maintenance of power. Communists have always wanted this to be known, as a means to intimidate opposition. Let’s examine some quotations from communist monsters:
* We will make our hearts cruel, hard, and immovable … we will not quiver at the sight of a sea of enemy blood. Without mercy, without sparing, we will kill our enemies in scores of thousands; let them drown themselves in their own blood! Let there be floods of the blood of the bourgeois – more blood, as much as possible.” Felix Dzerzhinsky, the head of the Soviet Cheka in 1918.
* “Crazy with fury I will stain my rifle red while slaughtering any enemy that falls in my hands! My nostrils dilate while savoring the acrid odor of gunpowder and blood. With the deaths of my enemies I prepare my being for the sacred fight and join the triumphant proletariat with a bestial howl!” Ernesto “Che” Guevara from the book that became The Motorcycle Diaries.
* “We stand for organized terror – this should be frankly admitted. Terror is an absolute necessity during times of revolution. Our aim is to fight against the enemies of the Soviet Government and of the new order of life. We judge quickly.” V.I Lenin.
* “To send men to the firing squad, judicial proof is unnecessary. These procedures are an archaic bourgeois detail. This is a revolution! And a revolutionary must become a cold killing machine motivated by pure hate. We execute from revolutionary conviction!” Ernesto “Che” Guevara.
* “Executions? Certainly we execute! And we will CONTINUE executing as long as it is necessary! This is a war to the DEATH against the revolution’s enemies!” Che Guevara while addressing the UN General Assembly on December 9, 1964.
Note that all of Guevara’s above quotes are found in his own diaries. Some of these diaries were fashioned into a movie four years ago by Robert Redford (The Motorcycle Diaries). Others provided the screenplay for Che, the four-and-a-half hour “epic hagiography” (as described by the New York Times) directed by Stephen Soderbergh and starring Benicio Del Toro titled, released stateside just last week. Although the above-mentioned directors and producers profess rigid fidelity to Che’s diaries, one searches their film in vain for these quotations.
Instead, many of the scenes are altogether fictitious. When Che Guevara entered the Cuban city of Santa Clara during the anti-Batista skirmishes, he promptly ordered the firing squad to murder dozens of “war-criminals” said to be linked to the overthrown government of Fulgencio Batista. This “battle” added up to six casualties on both sides, but Soderbergh and Del Toro – mindlessly sycophantic to their Castroite sources – depict it as a Caribbean Stalingrad that somehow produced scores of war criminals on one side! The New York Times, which “reported” on this “battle” as it “raged,” didn’t bother to look into this numerical discrepancy.
The Cuban revolutionaries even televised their executions at Santa Clara. Among the victims was a valiant man named Col. Cornelio Rojas. Refusing a blindfold, Rojas walked unescorted to his execution (It was actually a murder: Che Guevara didn’t even bother with one of his bogus trials). Compare Senor Rojas’s death to Guevara’s capture, when he reportedly whimpered, “Don’t shoot! I’m worth more to you alive than dead!”
Blanca Rojas, Senor Rojas wife of 40 years, died of a heart attack while watching her husband’s murder on Cuban national TV. Cornelio Rojas 17-year-old nephew, Pedro, volunteered for what came to be known as the Bay of Pigs invasion. After fighting to his last bullet, the defenseless Pedro was murdered in cold blood by one Osmany Cienfuegos, the man who until recently served as Cuba’s “Minister of Tourism.” For over a decade, Cienfuegos served as official host for millions of Canadian tourists.
The brutal legacy of the Cuban revolution is not the only blind spot in Ted Turner’s adoring history. The CNN creator also approves of Castro’s educational system, calling it an outstanding representative of learning in the developing world. Fine. But what seems to escape Turner is that prior to Fidel and Che’s glorious revolution, Cuba was not part of the “developing world.” A UNESCO report on Cuba from circa 1957 reports: “One feature of the Cuban social structure is a large middle class.” It begins with these long-outdated statistics:

Cuban workers are more unionized (proportional to the population) than U.S. workers. The average wage for an 8 hour day in Cuba in 1957 is higher than for workers in Belgium, Denmark, France and Germany. Cuban labor receives 66.6 percent of gross national income. In the U.S. the figure is 70 percent, in Switzerland 64 percent. 44 percent of Cubans are covered by Social legislation, (a higher percentage than in the U.S.)

In 1958, the year before Castro took over, Cuba had more doctors and dentists per capita than Britain, and a lower infant mortality than France and Germany – the 13th-lowest in the world. Today, Cuba’s infant-mortality rate is 43rd from the top, despite having the hemisphere’s highest abortion rate, which skews this figure downward. Relative to the rest of the world, Cuba’s health care has worsened horrendously under Castro. Thus it is that a nation that was once a destination for European immigrants today needs machine guns, water cannons, and tiger sharks to keep its people from fleeing. A mere sixty miles away, half-starved Haitians turn up their noses at the thought of immigrating to Cuba.
The charitable explanation for Turner’s affection for Fidel is that it is fundamentally about business. Back in 1997, when CNN craved a Havana Bureau, Turner’s sales pitch was not particularly subtle: “Castro is one helluva guy!” he gushed to a capacity crowd at Harvard Law School during a speech. “You people would like him! Most people in Cuba like him.” Within weeks, CNN was granted its coveted Havana Bureau, the first ever granted by Castro to a foreign network. Whitewashing Castro’s record may be good business. But it’s hard to believe that after all this time Turner is really the dupe that his recent remarks suggest.

Wild Thing’s comment………
Turner just loves communists. He would marry Castro if he could.
For a man with communist sympathies he owns more land than any other person in the United States. He also owns the world’s largest bison herd.
Turner doesn’t have a clue what Communism really is like. He would have a major wake-up call if he actually had to live in such a country.

Tuner has a history of being an apologist for Commies.
Transcript of a 2005 interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer:
Turner: “I am absolutely convinced that the North Koreans are absolutely sincere. There’s really no reason — no reason for them to cheat or do anything to violate this very forward agreement. I mean, I think we can put the North Korea and East Asia problems behind us and concentrate on Iran and Iraq, where, where we still have some ongoing difficulties.”
Blitzer: “I’ve got to tell you, Ted, given the record of North Korea, especially the fact that, in the Clinton administration in ’93-’94, they made a similar pledge, which they violated and they backed out of, I’m not exactly sure that I accept all your optimism.”
Turner: “Well, you know, I was optimistic about the Cold War when I got to Russia, too. But I looked them right in the eyes. And they looked like they meant the truth. I mean, you know, just because somebody’s done something wrong in the past doesn’t mean they can’t do right in the future or in the present. That happens all the, all the time.”
Blitzer: “But this is one of the most despotic regimes and Kim Jong Il is one of the worst men on Earth. Isn’t that a fair assessment?”
Turner: “Well, I didn’t get, I didn’t get to meet him, but he didn’t look, in the pictures that I’ve seen of him on CNN, he didn’t look too much different than most other people.”
Blitzer: “But look at the way, look at the way he’s, look at the way he’s treating his own people.”
Turner: “Well, hey, listen. I saw a lot of people over there. They were thin and they were riding bicycles instead of driving in cars, but–”
Blitzer: “A lot of those people are starving.”
Turner: “I didn’t see, I didn’t see any, I didn’t see any brutality in the capital or out in the, on the DMZ…Let’s give ’em a break. Give ’em a break And besides, even if they do — even if they do threaten us again, the threat is non-existent to the United States. They can’t threaten us. I mean, it’s like a fleet attacking an elephant.”

Obama Tries Out His Salute

This is another time he saluted while there, not the one mentioned in the article. The article says he used his right hand at the base in Hawaii.
This photo above however is Obama and his LEFTY salute fumbling with his cell phone.

Obama is not in the executive chain of the military, has not been sworn in as President, isn’t an officer of any kind, is saluting with his left hand, isn’t facing anyone in particular, is holding an object in his hand, has no recognizable uniform, and for some bloody reason took the initiative to salute a USMC Lance Corporal.

Obama Tries Out His Salute
New York Times
second source
KAILUA, Hawaii
He’s not the commander in chief yet, but was President-elect Barack Obama briefly practicing his salute on Sunday?
On the first morning of his vacation here, Mr. Obama arrived at the Marine Corps Base Hawaii for his daily workout. As he walked out of the Semper Fit Center, his gray T-shirt soaked in sweat, he lifted his right hand and gave a quick salute to two Marines in fatigues who were standing in the distance.
The brief moment was not captured by cameras. Photographs and video were not permitted to be taken on the military base, according to campaign aides.
Mr. Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama, opened their day with a 45-minute workout inside a large gymnasium at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, which is located on the Mokapu Penninsula on the windward side of Oahu, about 30 minutes outside Honolulu. It is sunny and warm here, a world away, at least in terms of the weather, from Chicago.
The Marine base seemed sleepy when the motorcade rolled through shortly after 7 a.m. Home to the 3rd Marine Regiment, Marine Aircraft Group 24 and the 3rd Radio Battalion, the base is located only a few minutes from where the Obamas are staying, a rented home at the end of a series of cul-de-sacs (and security barricades) along Kailuana Place.
Mr. Obama, who arrived to his native Hawaii on Saturday afternoon, is taking a 13-day holiday vacation with his family and a few friends from Chicago. At least some work, though, followed him to Hawaii.
He is receiving his daily national security briefing and his transition team is scheduled on Monday or Tuesday to release an internal review of any contacts between his advisers and the Illinois governor’s office over filling his vacant Senate seat. That is the subject of a corruption case and federal investigation into Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich.
Mr. Obama is not expected to address the inquiry, but rather have it released through a written statement from Washington.
Insiders said Obama and his family will hold a private funeral service for his grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, while they are in Hawaii. However, officials with the National Memorial of the Pacific at Punchbowl Cemetery said nothing had been finalized.
The president-elect, after filling his Cabinet in record-setting pace, is taking a break. On tap for the rest of his Sunday? An afternoon tee-time and 18 holes of golf.
The Obamas and the families of two or three friends will stay at a Windward Oahu beachside villa with three multimillion-dollar homes. Each wraps around a lagoon-style swimming pool, with palm trees, grassy lawns and retractable glass walls for views of the beach.
The compound he is renting costs $8,250.00 per day.

.

Wild Thing’s comment……….
A Muslim saluting with his left hand! I can’t believe this joke was elected president of our country. The more you think about it, the more shocking it really is. If that is possible.
I respect the office he will hold.
But I will NEVER respect Obama, and he will never be my President.
I will NEVER forget or forgive his betrayal of our troops on the battlefield. He championed defeat, he voted against funding them, he accused them of war crimes.

” “We’ve got to get the job done there and that requires us to have enough troops so that we’re not just air-raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous pressure over there,” Obama said.”

I read that 80% of the entire military voted for McCain-Palin.

Honoring Heroes at the Holidays ~ MAF Heads To GITMO

Honoring Heroes at the Holidays
Move America Forward
The Honoring Heroes at the Holidays Tour is now officially complete, but the MAF team has one more little stop…Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
MAF (Move America Forward ) will be sending Chairman Melanie Morgan, Gold Star mom Debbie Lee, Executive Director Cat Moy, Ryan Gill and Danny Gonzalez with Kylie Williams off to Guantanamo Bay to visit the troops there and bring them special tidings of comfort and joy for Christmas!

Kylie was Ms. Florida 2007 and went on to compete in the Miss America Pageant. She has her own non-profit organization called Realistic Support for the Troops and is also designated Official Ambassador for Veteran’s Advocacy for the State of Florida. Kylie helped to make our trip to GITMO happen by using her contacts in Florida and GITMO to help facilitate our visit.

How You Get in Without Chains on Your Wrists
It was 10 AM this morning, we were all set to go in Ft. Lauderdale but there was a slight mix up when we didn’t know, and the pilots for the Navy didn’t know, whether we were supposed to go fly out of Miami or Ft. Lauderdale. We were waiting in Ft. Lauderdale at a private hangar waiting for the military to show up, but then we got a call saying they were waiting for US in Miami (with Kylie) so they said they would come pick us up in Ft. Lauderdale and about 40 minutes later a prop plane showed up in Ft. Lauderdale with Kylie Williams and 3 U.S. Navy pilots on board ready to pick up the MAF team.
In just a few minutes we were up in the air and on our way to Cuba. It’s a three hour flight out of Ft. Lauderdale because you usually take a route around the eastern edge of the country and then turn westward and loop around the island into Guantanamo Bay. This is because we usually do not have access to Cuban airspace but Joe from the Navy told me that even if you cut across the country it only saves you thirty minutes.

THEY’RE HERE—The US Navy arrives to pick us up!!
The us navy has brought their c-12 prop plane here with Kylie Williams direct from Miami international airport!
it was a tenuous situation here at the FBO office (a private part of ft. lauderdale airport) and were not sure if we were going to make it because of a mixup on where the plane was supposed to be and where we were supposed to be but it turned out the US Navy came through for us!
Kylie is here, Mel and Cat and Debbie are here and we’re all ready to go in about five minutes!!! we had JUST BARELY enough time to shoot this little video…
MAF going to GITMO — waiting to take off!

OK. The secret’s out. I am headed to one of the most dreaded, brutal, bloody spots in the world – if you’re a liberal.
Gitmo. The word sends lefties running to the bong for another hit of weed to ease their misery. I’m looking forward to seeing with my own eyes the base where we cage beasts that want to cut our throats because we aren’t radical Muslims.
I have to admit – I also want to warm myself. Despite what Al Gore-ites say, we in Northern California haven’t experienced global warming. In fact, I have to crank up the heat – bless me Algore, for I have sinned – to defrost my bones in the morning.
Anyway, my nonprofit, Move America Forward, thought it was high-tim e to travel to Guantanamo Bay to thank our troops for their steadfast work with some of the most vicious beings to walk this earth (aside from Code Pink freaks I’ve met on the streets of Berkeley).
Over the past couple of weeks, MAF has traveled the country to hold rallies for our troops. Patriots have come out to the rallies and g one to our Website at www.moveamericaforward.org and sponsored care packages for our troops.
Yes, we actually love our troops and respect them for their work keeping us safe. We are also aware that the left in this country wants to close Gitmo.
Important safety tip to you whiney liberals: If you want to close Guantanamo Bay like your leader, Barack Obama, you need to make your home their home. That’s right. But make sure that you don’t offend them. Call them to prayer five times a day. Feed them culturally appropriate food. Give them prayer caps, prayer rugs and prayer beads and a brand new Koran. They’re used to all of these items, thanks to the dreaded Americans who run Gitmo.
But make sure to put away the kitchen knives, or you may wake up in the morning without your head.
Tune in later when I give you the lowdown on club Gitmo. I plan to eat well, relax, and kick back in the 80-degree weather after some afternoon waterboarding!!
Mostly, though, I’m going to thank our troops for keeping us safe from the real live monsters that are foaming at the mouth to get at us.

Guantanamo Bay: First Impressions
We landed softly and taxied in quickly, loaded up into two trucks with all our gear and went down to a little harbor that is right next to the airstrip. We boarded a boat called the GITMO Queen and took a short ride across the bay where the Navy pilots were pointing out all the local landmarks. Guantanamo Bay has lots of manatees in the water and there are a whole mess of old and historical buildings. For example, in testament to the fact that GTMO has been in use as a military installation for decades, there are a couple old forts situated in the outskirts of the bay.
There is also an old hospital where the Cubans used to quarantine patients when they had an outbreak of some sickness they did not want to spread. We also saw lots and lots of old warehouses that used to house sea planes and other things but have since been converted. From the boat we were also able to see the base HQ, a power plant that supplies energy for the whole base, and “the skipper’s house” which is now under renovations so the skipper lives in the BEQ where we are staying.
The MWR (which stands for Morale, Welfare and Recreation) treated us to some of the excellent local dining, a fast food-type joint called The Jerk House which had some AWESOME food! I got me some jerked pork and rice and it was delicious. Tomorrow morning we have an early start and a full day’s schedule of stops and tours where we will explore everything that goes on down here in Guantanamo Bay. Keep emailing the MAF account and keep up with us on our journey!

Wild Thing’s comment………
I love reading about the support of our troops. There are so many organizations and so many they do a lot of good. This one Move America Forward is excellent and has done a lot to support our troops. Not only that but they also have been active in the protests to counter the protests of the Code Pink at the Marine recruiting offices in San Francisco and other places.
God bless our troops and all those that support them and their mission.

Enough Is Enough Of Radical Islam

Enough is enough of radical Islam
by Ben Shapiro
wnd
Enough with the pseudonyms. Western civilization isn’t at war with terrorism any more than it is at war with grenades. Western civilization is at war with militant Islam, which dominates Muslim communities all over the world. Militant Islam isn’t a tiny minority of otherwise good-hearted Muslims. It’s a dominant strain of evil that runs rampant in a population of well over 1 billion.
Enough with the psychoanalysis. They don’t hate us because of Israel. They don’t hate us because of Kashmir. They don’t hate us because we have troops in Saudi Arabia or because we deposed Saddam Hussein. They don’t hate us because of Britney Spears. They hate us because we are infidels, and because we don’t plan on surrendering or providing them material aid in their war of aggressive expansion.
Enough with the niceties. We don’t lose our souls when we treat our enemies as enemies. We don’t undermine our principles when we post more police officers in vulnerable areas, or when we send Marines to kill bad guys, or when we torture terrorists for information. And we don’t redeem ourselves when we close Guantanamo Bay or try terrorists in civilian courts or censor anti-Islam comics. When it comes to war, extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice, and moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.
Enough with the words. Talking with Iran without wielding the threat of force, either economic or military, won’t help. Appealing to the United Nations, run by thugs and dictators ranging from Putin to Chavez to Ahmadinejad, is an exercise in pathetic futility. Evil countries don’t suddenly decide to abandon their evil goals — they are forced to do so by pressure and circumstance.
Enough with the faux allies. We don’t gain anything by pretending that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are true allies. They aren’t. At best, they are playing both sides of the table. We ought to be drilling now in order to break OPEC. Building windmills isn’t going to cut it. We should also be backing India to the hilt in its current conflict with Pakistan — unless Pakistan can destroy its terrorist element, India should be given full leeway to do what it needs to do. Russia and China, meanwhile, are facilitating anti-Western terrorism. Treating them as friends in this global war is simply begging for a backstabbing.
Enough with the myths. Not everyone on earth is crying out for freedom. There are plenty of people who are happy in their misery, believing that their suffering is part and parcel of a correct religious system. Those people direct their anger outward, targeting unbelievers. We cannot simply knock off dictators and expect indoctrinated populations to rise to the liberal democratic challenge. The election of Hamas in the Gaza Strip is more a rule than an exception in the Islamic world.
Enough with the lies. Stop telling us that Islam is a religion of peace. If it is, prove it through action. Stop telling us that President-elect Barack Obama will fix our broken relationship with the Muslim world. They hate Obama just as much as they hated President George W. Bush, although they think Obama is more of a patsy than Bush was. Stop telling us that we shouldnt worry about the Islamic infiltration of our economy. If the Saudis own a large chunk of our banking institutions and control the oil market, they can certainly leverage their influence in dangerous ways.
Enough. After the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, the plane downed in Pennsylvania, the endless suicide bombings, shootings and rocket attacks in Israel, the Bali bombings, the synagogue bombing in Tunisia, the LAX shootings, the Kenyan hotel bombing, the Casablanca attacks, the Turkey synagogue attacks, the Madrid bombings, the London bombings, and the repeated attacks in India culminating in the Mumbai massacres — among literally thousands of others — it’s about time that the West got the point: we’re in a war. Our enemies are determined. They will not quit just because we offer them Big Macs, Christina Aguilera CDs, or even the freedom to vote. They will not quit just because we ensure that they have Korans in their Guantanamo cells, or because we offer to ban The Satanic Verses (as India did). They will only quit when they are dead. It is our job to make them so, and to eliminate every obstacle to their destruction.
So enough. No more empty talk. No more idle promises. No more happy ignorance, half measures, or appeasement-minded platitudes. The time for hard-nosed, uncompromising action hasn’t merely come — it’s been overdue by seven years. The voice of our brothers’ blood cries out from the ground.

Bravo to the man that wrote this article. He nailed it.
Excellent article, I would only change the word radical . The so-called “moderate” Muslims are the “non-uniformed combatants” of Islamic jihad. I am no fan of any part of Islam and I have yet to be proven that followers of Islam would not turn on any of us if they had to make a choice. But besides that this is one heck of an article !!!!
I do have a slight criticism of President Bush and how he handled this war against these followers of Islam. Only slight, because I do think he did a thousand times better then anyone else has done from any country. And he truly loves our troops and they love him.
Here is what I mean about a slight criticism . He let the left co-opt the terms – the language – of the conflict. The president started out to go in that direction; his early speeches and comments talked about a long war that was global in scope. He did use the term Islamofascists I think only once and got reprimanded for it by the media. It is an equivocal internal “PC” dialog we carry on that they, the left, keep trying to force on all of us. The equivocality of the internal dialog is only one step less fatal than the acts of the jihadists themselves. It isn’t armed. In effect, we alternate between appeasing our internal dialog and appeasing our external enemy. Both are losing strategies. The PC police still believe that making nice with the enemy will solve the problem. Idiots.
The Book of Swords says that, if you’re not a Muslim, you should be dead. That’s their belief, that’s their goal, and anyone who thinks otherwise like many of our politicians and citizens is a fool.
The Islamists do not care whether we still honor our own faiths or respect our own culture; as long as we do not accept theirs, we must be eliminated or converted. The “Religion of Peace” is in reality a Religion of Submission, and it means to impose its will by force, just as it always has.

Obama’s Labor Pick Has Communist Ties

Rep. Hilda L. Solis and Obama

Obama’s Labor pick has communist ties
wnd
President-elect Barack Obama’s choice to head the Labor Department has close ties to U.S. communist and socialist organizations and has sent representatives to functions organized by national parties for both ideologies.
The pick of Rep. Hilda L. Solis, D-Calif., a Congressional Hispanic Caucus leader considered to be one of the most reliably pro-union voices in the House, was hailed as a victory by communist and socialist leaders.

An article this past weekend in the Communist Party USA’s People’s Weekly World Newspaper welcomed Solis and quoted known socialist leaders calling her a “great choice” and an “outstanding” selection with “a life-long commitment to working people.”

Among other personalities, the Communist paper quoted former Rep. David Bonior, D-Mich., a top economic adviser to Obama, calling Solis a “terrific leader who I know first-hand will work tirelessly on behalf of America’s working families.”

As previously reported Bonior is listed as a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, or DSA, an organization dedicated to transforming America into a socialist society. He was a frontrunner for the labor secretary post, but endorsed Solis after dropping out of the race.
Solis herself has close ties to both socialist and communist organizations in the U.S.
Trever Loudon, a communist researcher based in New Zealand, found that in November 2005 Solis addressed the DSA National Convention in Los Angeles, entitled, “The New Capital of Progressive Politics?”
Also, this past June, Solis sent Elana Henry, a caseworker from Solis’s East Los Angeles office, to represent her at a forum on worker’s rights organized by Socialists International. According to the group’s website Socialists International bills itself as the worldwide organization of social democratic, socialist and labor parties. It has close ties to the DSA.
Solis also reportedly sent a representative to a major event of the Communist Party USA. The Communist Party’s newspaper documents that on June 20, 1996, Solis sent Antonio Aguilar on her behalf to present an honoree at the Party’s Southern California Friends of the People’s Weekly World tribute to two local labor leaders.

Wild Thing’s comment………
Obama keeping true to his own communist ties by surrounding himself with more of the same.
Anyone else notice that HO-bama never refers to blue collar folks as employees or individuals it is always “workers”.
