United House Republicans decided unanimously today to elect Rep. John Boehner as the next Speaker of the House. Boehner will take over as Speaker from Nancy Pelosi when the new Congress is sworn in this coming January.

Yes, I hope he knows that “reaching across the aisle” does not work and that his party’s constituents do not want compromise on any issue.
Tom, I hope he knows that too and keeps that reality up front in his discussions with Obama he is going to have to do.
