We are seeing the end to having a President that respects our Constitution, that was elected by what the Constitution has said needs to be in order to become President. So President George W. Bush is our last American President.
He was an awesome CIC and the love and respect went both ways and it showed. He will be missed by our troops and I think he will miss them as well.
President Bush did many good things and yes also things I did not like or understand. But across the board, the heart of Bush in most of the things he did were from integrity and honor and a true deep love for our country.
His face showed his love for our country, his tears he shed for our wounded troops and those that were killed was real and never once a photo op.
We are facing a future of something that imo can only be described as a nightmare for our country. A man elected that has been obstinate in his refusal to prove he is qualified to even run for President. A man that loathes our Constitution and has shown us that in his own words. A man whose wife had never been even proud to be an American until she saw her husband MIGHT become President. Two people so self involved that for either of them to use the word ‘ service’ to ones country is nothing but a total lie and farce.
As a CIC this man, Barack Hussein Obama, has proven in word and deed his disrespect for our military.
Just as the nightmare begins January 20th we also have an opportunity to take our country back. Not the GOP, not the RNC and not the rino’s, they cannot be counted on, they have been part of the problem. But conservatives, the base, the consistent driven force of what has made our nation great and standing along side our military all who love our country, in that we have a future. You don’t see Republican at the top of my blog, instead the statement below the logo says I am “American first and Conservative second”. It has been there since I started my blog and will remain that way. We have a handful of true conservatives in the Republican party, but they will let us know how much they want to take our country back in the future too.
Meanwhile, hold tight, pray and I just want to thank each one of your for being a part of Team Theodore, it has meant more to me then I can say. When I cheer, rant or cry about things happening within our country I feel I am among not only friends but my online family. Those of you that are Veterans and those serving now deserve better then what will be sworn in on January 20th. Our Founding Fathers worded things in case this kind of thing would happen, and you know what? I think they also knew that there would be citizens like you and I that have the spirit to do our best to fight back and never give up.

I will miss him as CIC. It breaks my heart, though in a way I’m glad, just look at pictures of him from 2002 or 2003. You can tell it’s been hard for him and that this job has aged him so much. He took all of the viscious, hateful. and spiteful personal attacks in stride simply by saying “Isn’t this a Great Country.” Honestly I’ve never seen such hatred before. He didn’t throw his cabinet members under the bus like clinton did. He fought a war with congress to get the Military all the Hardware we needed and he respected us. He also personally visited and wrote to so many grieving families. I remember when he gave his adress before the surge he said that the mistakes that were made were his responsibility. Didn’t clinton claim the Rangers were “overzealous” when the operation in Mogadishu went belly up? After all, didn’t clinton order in the Blackhawks aginst the recommendations of GEN Garrison who wanted M2 Bradleys and AC-130s? Right or wrong he stuck to what he believed in and that’s not something you see anymore in D.C. People want to forget 9/11, I just can’t! I lost a Cousin in the Trade Center. (I didn’t find out until later when a couple of my relatives in New England came down to Texas) The images of the Pentagon and the burning Twin Towers are burned into my Mind. He has kept us SAFE.
I thought of you as I blubbered through his speech last night. I will miss Laura the most. She has been a tremendous first lady. I don’t think I’ve seen the lowest of the low say anything bad about her. She’s always had a sense of what her duty was and she did just that.
The unfairness heaped on him hurts. The unfairness of a stolen election hurts. I could live with a qualified, competent Democrat who I thought cared about this country. Watching the baton being handed off to an unqualified fraud and his band of looters and crooks is painful. They don’t care about this country, only what it can do for them.
I agree with everything you both said. I don’t know what I can do except my part (we went Republican here in my county, but how do you fight Chicago).
It took a while for this to all fall so low for the conservatives, I guess we just have to have faith and patience that the liberal intolerants will shoot themselves in the foot and people WILL be paying attention this time around.
The irony of it all is the likelihood of those who blindly support him are the one who will be among the most affected by his ridiculous policies. Pelosi’s gang of thugs has that sewed up. For now.
I’ll miss him too, it hasn’t been easy to defend and support the president, from 2000 until 2004 I would get into brutal altercations in his defense. After 2004, even then I supported him. It was after 2006 that he started to get under my ire, but he was my CIC, I voted for him – twice!!! I also supported the invasion of Iraq, contrary to liberal belief there were WMD’s as witnessed by the massacre of the Kurds and the subsequent execution of Saddam for their use by his own people in their court of law for his part in the genocide.
History has forgotten Gerald V. Bull and the stockpiles of “Yellow Cake”. Hot damn, facts are a bitch to sweep under the rug. It’s OK, the new administration and ‘the people’s leader’ can rewrite history to suit their slant and blame the United States for all the world’s misery.
We have forgotten the Euroweenies and the UN, how they stalled and facilitated the WMD removal from Iraq into surrounding terrorists nations in turn for oil for food money’s. All the while Saddam Hussein was breaking all the cease fire conditions and paying off the monitors via ongoing UN Oil For Food resolutions, UN Resolution 706 of August 15, 1991, UN Resolution 712 of September 19, 1991 and UN Resolution 986 from 14 April 1995 – 21 November 2003 proved that all of Europe was on the take as well as the United Nations from the corruption of Saddam Hussein.
Could we have done better for a president? Maybe, but we had to play the hand we were dealt by the Union Leaders of the GOP who have abandoned the base in favor of that other party’s base. GWB has done a superb job of supporting the troops and keeping the terrorists at bay, domestically he lost his veto pen and sided with Mexico and the globalists. I don’t hold him responsible for the debacle of Hurricane Katrina, a wholly Democrat failure that GWB was blamed for. I can’t blame Bush for the failings of the GOP, they campaigned and supported the Rockefeller wing and as a result the party has been marginalized. I don’t wish GWB anything but good will. He and Laura lent a traditional grace and respect to the Whitehouse and to my knowledge the family has never used it as a pay for play boarding house for despots, criminals or traitors like the Clintons.
GW Bush has fought a war on three fronts, Afghanistan, Iraq and in both houses of Congress supported by their vicious mainstream media.
You did the best you could amidst the mediocrity of your Congress with the selection of a few good men. Go in peace president George W. Bush and enjoy the golden years. Thank you for keeping the nation safe.
I humbly and honorably join millions of true Americans that will miss George W. Bush and Laura. They replaced the dignity and honor in this country that had been trashed by Clinton and every other spineless, wimpy Liberal Democrat as well as many RINO turncoat Republicans. I will miss his genuine sincerity and compassion, his spontaneous and contagious smile, his wry sense of humor, his total unconditional love for this great nation that has been missing since Ronald Reagan.
Yes, he made many mistakes…..goes with the territory…..but he did not endanger this country….He did not sacrifice his integrity….he was a good president!!!
Maybe after taking a long overdue and deserving rest, he will stay involved in politics and continue to help this country. Wonder if we could convince him to head the RNC and clean it up….get rid of the RINO’s?!?!?! LOL
I did disagree with him on some of his decisions (like securing our borders, wanting to give amnesty to illegal aliens, and not pardoning the border patrol officers wrongly convicted of doing their jobs)but by and large, this country is considerably better off than before he took office. Too bad his illegal successor won’t be able to assure the same.

There is nothing left to say… WT, your post made me cry. Then I read the comments and all of YOU have made “whatever is in my eyes” hurt and well up even more. And for that I thank you.
WT, I think perhaps it is too soon to say that President G.W. Bush is going to be our last American President. If we all band together – and there are a lot of us out there – 48% of us – Americans – we CAN and WILL make sure that the President who sits in the highest office in our nation IS an American in four years from now. [You just sit back and watch, WT, I believe that many of that lowly 52% are going to regret that they allowed “this” to happen to them – to us; they will move to the right once the Unicorn this man rode in on stops pooping out Skittles!]
Honestly, I believe that this Great Nation will rise up to the occasion and see that an imposter has been elected – someone who was not even born in the United States – but all that will come out down the road. Along with many trials and tribulations that will also require us to rise up and make our, now seemingly insignificant voices, heard. Truly we are in for one heck of a harrowing ride through the next four years to get where we need to be. And, I for one, am actually afraid of what it is going to take to make the proverbial “lemmings” out there see the light and and revolt by turning around and not running off the cliff…
With heartfelt gratitude – for protecting our Great Nation – and for many other things that you and the lovely and First Lady, Laura, have done, thank you, President George W. Bush! You will be missed by many.
I have ranted many times about George W Bush. I had great hopes when he entered office. My hopes were high because we now had a Republican President and Republican Congress.
Bush elated me and disappointed me. He elated me by bringing back dignity and honor to the White House. Laura is probably the most regal First Lady in my lifetime. I enjoyed Bush’s tax cuts. I will forever support his military action after 9-11. The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq were the right thing to do other than go nuke. Just when it looked like Iraq was a lost cause, he got rid of Rumsfeld and we had The Surge which turned the tide of the war. His continuance of the anti missle defense program. I liked his inroads into Eastern Europe making treaties with former Soviet clients. There are many good things George W Bush did that will take years to realize.
His disappointments were also great. Under his leadership we lost the Republican majority in Congress. His immigration policy was a disaster. As an oil man he should have led the way towards energy independence. Instead we are even more dependent on foreign energy. He practiced too much cronyism, ie. Rumsfeld, Gonzales, Johnny Sutton. His failure to pardon the 3 LEOs in prison for guarding our border. Bush was a big spender and government grew. He seldom vetoed anything Congress proposed. His tendency toward globalization at the cost of nationalization.
There are many more items both good and bad that could be mentioned. That would take volumes. I think George W Bush’s primary shortcoming is that he wants to like everyone and be liked by everyone. A typical American trait and a particular trait in Texas. He is basically very honest, very patriotic, outgoing and friendly. But he is not a leader. Bush did not lead the Republican Party. It ran amok and self distructed. Bush did not fight the Democrats. He did that “hands across the aisle” thing.
Bush thought he saw good in everyone. Putin took advanage of that as did Vincente Fox and others.
I think Bush’s greatest error though was that he failed to lead the American People. He spoke to Congress, the UN, the media. But he seldom spoke to America We got soundbites picked out by a hostile media. George W Bush almost became reclusive after 2004. He fought the Taliban and Al-Queda, but allowed the media and opponents to ride roughsod over him. That was too much compassion.
Bush needed to learn from Reagan. Bush needed to use his bully pulpit to address America. Whether it be a fireside chat or a prime time address, he needed to contradict the MSM and show some fight. That might have inspired more people and at least been an alternative to the drivel we are fed daily. Instead, Bush seemed to just absorb the punches and allow his administration to become punch drunk. That helped open the door to what we now are facing in DC.
I love George W. Bush as a man and fellow Texan. I wish the very best for Dubya and Laura. If I run across him here in Dallas I will render him a salute of repect.
I will miss this kind and gentle man as our CIC. His showed how human and compassionate a President can be. He was not all “business as usual” and “uptight” as others have been. He truly cared about what was in his heart as well as in ours and it’s sad that people used it against him. Laura is a true peach of a woman. She stood behind him and had nothing to fear. They were a Godly couple who seemed to grow up before our very eyes, even though they were already grown ups. Should I ever meet him, he has my undying gratitude for keeping my kids safe for all these many years.
I voted for him twice.
George and Laura Bush are a class act and served their country well these last eight years. I, like the President, am confident that history will treat him fairly for a job well done despite the rantings, ravings, and revisionist history of the axis of evil — Democrats, Liberals, and MSM enemy within.
In contrast, Barack Obama and this same axis of evil base their existence on hatred of George Bush, Sarah Palin, and anyone who disagrees with their socialist and past and present revisionist history of the country. Their hatred is not a class act but the cancer of an ignorant, stupid, and suicidal society.
JohnE PFC U.S. Army, well said, I know what you mean, I have noticed it too. They do say being President ages a person, but I think with Bush it has hit a lot more.
For 8 long years he has been attacked in so many horrible ways, non stop. Not just once a week but every single day for 8 years.

I loved that video tribute to Bush, Fred Thompson did the voice over and he is soooo good with that. I have watched it three times and each time it makes me cry.
