How To Steal An Election

How to steal an election
By Jeff Jacoby, Globe Columnist
Boston Globe
RECENT story that didn’t get nearly the attention it deserved was the New York Daily News report that 46,000 registered New York City voters are also registered to vote in Florida. Nearly 1,700 of them have had absentee ballots mailed to their home in the other state, and as many as 1,000 have voted twice in the same election. Can 1,000 fraudulent votes change an election? Well, George W. Bush won Florida in 2000 by just 537 votes.
It is illegal to register to vote simultaneously in different jurisdictions, but scofflaws have little to worry about.

As the Daily News noted, “efforts to prevent people from registering and voting in more than one state rely mostly on the honor system.” Those who break the law rarely face prosecution or serious punishment. It’s easy — and painless — to cheat.

I learned this firsthand in 1996, when I registered my wife’s cat as a voter in Cook County, Ill., Norfolk County, Mass., and Cuyahoga County, Ohio, and then requested absentee ballots from all three venues. My purpose wasn’t to cast illegal multiple votes but to demonstrate how vulnerable to manipulation America’s election system has become.

It was a simple scam to pull off. “Under the National Voter Registration Act — the `Motor Voter Law’ — states are required to accept voter registrations by mail,” I wrote at the time. “No longer can citizens be asked to make a trip to town hall or the county office. No longer do they have to provide proof of residence or citizenship. In fact, they don’t have to exist. Motor Voter obliges election officials to add to the voter list any name mailed in on a properly filled-out registration form. Anyone so registered can then request an absentee ballot — by mail, of course. The system is not only open to manipulation, it invites it.”

As journalist John Fund shows in an alarming new book, “Stealing Elections: How Voter Fraud Threatens Our Democracy,” the United States has an elections system that would be an embarrassment in Honduras or Ghana.
It is so unpoliced, he writes, that at least eight of the 9/11 hijackers “were actually able to register to vote in either Virginia or Florida while they made their deadly preparations.”
How fouled up are the voter rolls? So fouled up that in some cities there are more registered voters than there are adults. So fouled up that when the Indianapolis Star investigated Indiana’s records a few years ago, it discovered that hundreds of thousands of names — as many as one-fifth of the total — were “bogus” since the individuals named had moved, died, or gone to prison. So fouled up that when a Louisiana paper filed 25 phony voter registration forms signed only with an “X,” 21 were approved and added to the voter list.
Illegal aliens have been registered, too, since under Motor Voter, any recipient of government benefits can sign up to vote, no questions asked.
Did that wide-open door to fraud cost former GOP Congressman Robert Dornan his seat in Congress? An investigation by the Immigration and Naturalization Service following Dornan’s 1996 defeat by Democrat Loretta Sanchez found that 4,023 noncitizens may have cast ballots in that election. Dornan lost by 984 votes.
It shouldn’t take a degree in rocket science to fix a system this sloppy and chaotic. But not everyone wants to fix it. Some operatives don’t mind cheating if it brings more of “their” voters to the polls. Fund cites the findings of Wall Street Journal reporter Glenn Simpson and political scientist Larry Sabato, co-authors of a recent book on corruption in American politics. Some liberal activists they interviewed go so far as to justify voter fraud on the grounds that such “extraordinary measures” compensate for the weaker political clout of minorities and the poor.
One simple fix — requiring every voter to show ID when registering and voting — would seem to be a no-brainer. Opinion polls show that the vast majority of Americans favor such a reform. After all, ID is required when boarding an airplane or buying liquor. Why not when voting?
Yet, incredibly, powerful political interests have long fought to block an ID requirement. The NAACP and La Raza liken it to the poll tax that Southern states once used to keep blacks from voting. A Democratic Party official says that “ballot security” and “preventing voter fraud” are simply code for voter suppression. That willingness to play the race card is not merely dishonorable; it is undemocratic. For as Fund notes, “when voters are disenfranchised by the counting of improperly cast ballots, their civil rights are violated just as surely as if they were prevented from voting.”
The drift toward Third World-caliber elections in the most advanced democracy in the world is scandalous. Then again, if Americans can’t be bothered to scrub the voting rolls or to make sure that voters are properly ID’d, maybe they’ve got the election system they deserve.

Wild Thing’s comment……..
After 9/11, the Justice Department found that eight of the 19 hijackers were registered to vote.
When I read this I also remembered how the Dems had buses go and pick up homeless people and promised then coffee and doughnuts on their way to the voting booths. amazing!
…Thank you Jack for sending this to me. Jack’s blog is Conservative Insurgent Blog.

Stick that Demoncrap vote where it counts! lol!

Mark says:

Yesterday was my first time voting in my new home of New Deliverence, Pennsylvania.
It took me 3 months to get a Pa drivers license, because in the move here from Ohio I had lost my Social security card. After making two trips to the SS office and another trip to the DMV, my wife had to verify that I was indeed her husband and sign an affidavit attesting to this fact.
After convincing the clerk that I was who I said I was he asked me what party and I said Independent. This is all part of the democrat motor voter registration. The signs at the DMV are in both English and Spanish.
About a week later I received my Registration card Via US Snail Mail.
It is a white card with the seal of Pennsylvania, and it says it belongs to the holder, my name, address and that is it. No picture, No signature, mine or any official who verified that it was me who signed it. I could have stolen the damn card from an illegal mexican. and my new identity was Juan Valdez.
So we went to our polling place, yesterday noon. We get there and there are two folding chairs in front of the voting booth and some shil and his (democrat) Bimbo are passing out information for one of the candidates.
I said, to him , why are you here hawking “Johnson in front of the voting booth” he repeated what he had said, to remember ‘Pete Johnson when you are in voting.
I said, You are not supposed to be within 100 feet of a polling place, he mumbled something and left, but he represents a local democrat who is the DA.
We go inside, to sign and vote all they want to see is my ‘Useless Registration’, with no picture or even signature. So I said to the lady, “You don’t want to see my driver’s license, she says, no, and I replied, how do you know I am not an ILLEGAL alien, she says, ” oh I turst you.” …” You do ? You don’t know me from Adam.
As I am waiting my turn, I am looking around and there are pamphlets in Spanish on how to vote.
After we voted, My wife told me that the man voting next to her told the voter ladies he had no clue on what he had just done. He didn’t understand the machine.
They were Touch Screens and were activated after you put the voter card in… Simple Right… Evidently NOT. This man had to be in his 40’s and cound not read and comprehend what the very simple explanation on the screen had told him.
This whole process was very enlightening. Half the people in the country can’t read or comprehend what is written in front of them, and if you are a democrat the rules don’t matter, they will wilfully violate them to get their ‘Bozo’ elected and finally we are wilfully giving the country away to Illegal Aliens.
In summary, we are going to get Illegals as much as we don’t want them, the people, who will wilfully put up with this crap will vote for Hillary, because she promises to take care of them, the whole country is being flushed down the toilette and we ourselves are pulling the handle.

Lynn says:

I think we should go away from it just being your driver’s license as your voter card.
I think that’s stupid.
You should have to register and show that you are a legal resident of this country to vote.
We can’t vote in their elections, so why should they vote in ours?
Fair is fair here.
I can’t wait to take my oldest daughter, Elly, on her 18th birthday this year to get her registered to vote! She’s picked republican and I’m so proud. She can’t wait to vote for President. I’m so glad we took our kids with us when we voted and talked to them about how the system works.

yankeemom says:

My husband can’t get a Virginia drivers license until they see a copy of his birth certificate. (It’ll be awhile as it has to come from CA – hee hee)
Nothing will be done about voter fraud as long as certain parties get those votes!! by hook or by crook!
Saying the word “ethical” before the word “congress” don’t mean nothin’. Talk doesn’t cook the rice.

BobF says:

Our right to vote was founded on the blood of men and women who gave their lives for the freedoms we enjoy. It’s a damn shame that we as a nation have bastardized that precious privilege and are giving it to those who are non-deserving. A man can die in the trenches to secure your right to vote but you can’t make the trip to City Hall to register or you can’t get the proper document to prove your authorized to vote.
That Motor Voter Act was a Bill Clinton thing. It looks like it may come in handy for Hillary. You’ve got to hand it to those Clinton’s. When it comest to underhanded tricks, they’re the best at it.

TomR says:

Motor-voter was one of the most devious schemes to ever be thought up. The sponsers of that scheme had illegals and other voter fraud in mind.
Here in Dallas it has been known for decades that the Dems have paid Black pastors to bring their flocks to the polls and vote in a block. Then with motor-voter and mail in early voting, the Dems just go to nursing homes and register each resident 2 or more times. What is funny is that in primary voting when Blacks are running against Blacks in all Black districts the screaming and ranting about voter fraud and cheating is ear shattering. In the general elections when it is Dem vs Repub and the dem gets 97+% from that Black district, there is not a whimper.

Wild Thing says:

Patrick, hahahahha Amen to that.

Wild Thing says:

Mark wow thank you soooooo much for sharing about yesterday. That is amazing all the things you told about. Even when you asked them about the various things and their attitude about it………..waaaaaaaa, I pray for our country Mark I am so very concerned.

Wild Thing says:

Lynn that is so neat about Elly. I remember the very first time and my Dad took me to register. I felt such an honor and privilege to be able to vote. It was a big event and I knew how serious it was to do such a thing.
Thank you for sharing about Elly that is wonderful.

Wild Thing says:

Yankeemom, I love how you put this and it is so true.
“Saying the word “ethical” before the word “congress” don’t mean nothin’. Talk doesn’t cook the rice.”

Wild Thing says:

Bob they sure are, there is just nothing redeeming about either of the Clintons. They truly terrify me when it comes to the damage they have done and will do to our country.

Wild Thing says:

Tom wow isn’t that amazing, it is so well organized and something so hard to fight agaist to change too. I wish our side was as organized at least, not illegal stuff but at least organized and passionate. So many people on our side have apathy.

darthcrUSAderworldtour07 says:

The Sorelosermen in 2000 threw our US Military Absentee Ballots in the trash! On December 14, 2000: Bush wins Florida and 30 red states and the electoral score of 271-266! How swwwweeeet it was! MOST illegal votes go to the Democrats – period. In 1960 JFK received votes in Chicago from DEAD PEOPLE! Chicago is Barack Hussein Obama’s turf?
