President Trump Delivers Remarks in Honor of Bay of Pigs Veterans
President Trump honored veterans of the Bay of Pigs Invasion, who in 1961 fought bravely against the Castro regime in a struggle for liberty over tyranny.
“We will honor your courage with my Administration’s determination to defeat communism and socialism,” President Trump said.
As part of America’s continuing fight against oppressive socialist regimes, President Trump announced today that the U.S. Treasury will prohibit American travelers from staying at properties owned by the Cuban government. The United States will also further restrict the importation of Cuban alcohol and tobacco products.
“These actions will ensure that U.S. dollars do not fund the Cuban regime and go directly to the Cuban people,” President Trump said. “Big difference.”
The President also recognized Hispanic Heritage Month. Nearly 60,000 Hispanic Americans serve as police officers, and more than 300,000 are part of our great American military. Over half of U.S. Border Patrol agents are of Hispanic heritage, as well.
“Hispanic Americans teach their children to love our country, honor our history, and respect our great American flag. Hispanic Americans embody the American Dream.”
