President George H.W. Bush Endorses Mitt Romney
President George H.W. Bush endorsed Mitt Romney for president.
Romney said, “Thank you. Coming from the president and first lady, I’m honored to have your endorsement and support.”
He continued, “Having your support means a great deal to me on a personal basis, a family basis, and also on a national basis.” He went on to stress the importance of the election, saying, “It’s an election about the course of America. I think we’re on a very dangerous path and I think it’s important for us to select a nominee.”

BobF says:

To me, this isn’t good. HW and Barbra are the epitome of the Blue Bloods who run the GOP. He’s a moderate who lost reelection after abandoning the policies of Ronald Reagan.

TomR,armed in Texas says:

Bingo Bob. This endorsement will not have a positive effect on conservatives. Jeb Bush has also endorsed Romney. Dubya hasn’t so far. I hope Dubya understands that he is not popular with Reagan Democrats and Independents and that his endorsement of a RNC insider will not help Romney one bit and could actually cost some votes that might just stay home 6 Nov.
