Allen West to Samuel Jackson: Stick to Movies, Not Politics, After Racist Jab at Tea Party

Jackson took a swipe at the tea party saying their opposition to the President pretty much comes down to race. West responds on Fox News
Actor Samuel L. Jackson echoed fellow film star Morgan Freeman in calling the tea party racist this week. Florida GOP Rep. Allen West, a card-carrying member of the tea party who is black, took issue with the comments.
“I think Samuel Jackson needs to pay more attention to the upcoming release of the movie ‘Avengers’ next summer and not [get] concerned with the politics and policies of the failed administration,” West told Fox News Wednesday.
Jackson, discussing the tea party, told New York magazine, “I think everything right now is geared toward getting that guy out of office, whatever that means. It’s not politics. It is not economics. It all boils down to pretty much to race. It is a shame.”
West retorted: “Samuel L. Jackson, I guess, disregards the 16.7 percent unemployment rate in the black community, a 20 percent unemployment rate for black adult males and a 45-46 percent unemployment rate for black teenagers. I think the racism that he is talking about is coming out of the White House and this administration.”

Wild Thing’s comment……..
Allen West is wonderful!! Thank you to West for speaking up about this. And he is right too. Samuel Jackson and Morgan Freeman are both excellent actors, but they need to get back to acting.
Years ago the major studios would sign a star and the star ( celeb) was never allowed to do anything like we have been seeing. The studios actually were controlling their stars but for a good reason. They knew if some of them spoke out like these men have done and Sean Penn etc. the films they did might not get good attendence and it would hurt the studio as well. Then Independent studios became popular and the whole watching over the stars actions etc. was gone.

BobF says:

Freeman’s sole reason for saying the Tea Party was racist is because they want to make Obama a one term president. Since George Washington was elected president, the political opposition has always wanted to make the current president a one term president. But now, since we have a president who’s half black in office, making him a one term president is racist.
If we though the race card was used a lot last president election, we can look forward to the whole deck coming out this time.

Conservatives such as myself pick candidates based on their policies and character. Their gender, age and race are not important. Liberals don’t get that. To liberals it is all appearance, not substance.

Great input thank you Bob and Tom.
