House Speaker John Boehner responding to Obama’s address to the nation on the Debt Limit.
Boehner spoke briefly, but effectively. He made it clear there would be no increase in the Debt Limit without accompanying spending cuts. Boehner explained that Obama rejected the “Cut, Cap, and Balance” bill passed by the House, saying Obama has been unwilling to “take yes for an answer.” Obama wants a “balanced approach,” Boehner said, which means, “We spend more, and you pay more.”
Obama “wants a blank check today,” Boehner said. “This is just not going to happen,” he stated.
Boehner made it clear that Obama is desperately trying to keep from dealing with the nation’s debt, and that it is on him if no debt limit increase is signed.
Wild Thing’s comment……..
For the life of me I can’t understand how anyone would still think Obama is a good president or would want him to stay in power.
Obama blamed Bush, tax cuts and “unpaid for” wars in his presidential address. It was the same speech we’ve heard a hundred times
Boehner gave a good response. I just want him be as strong as he knows we all keep asking him to be and not give in.
Obama is the one keeping this whole thing going. Obama is the one that will NOT to any cuts in spending. This is all at the feet of Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
