The Republican Leadership Conference

The video above is the complete speech by Gov. Perry.
Texas Gov. Rick Perry Speaking to the Republican Leadership Conference
In his speech, Perry spoke soaringly of the ideals that America was founded upon, and what has made America great. He urged the crowd to join him in doing whatever it takes to turn the tide of Barack Obama’s runaway spending, runaway interfering, and runaway unemployment.
Perry described the simple economic principles he has followed during his 10 years as Governor of Texas – principles that have result in Texas leading the way in job creation – creating 48% of all the jobs created in America over the last two years:
1. “Don’t spend all the money.” 2. Keep the tax burden low. 3. Reduce regulation on business, and make needed regulations consistent, fair, and predictable so businesses and job creators know what to expect from quarter to quarter. 4. Reign in frivolous lawsuits through lawsuit reform that protects businesses from devastating attacks. He cited the recent passage of “Loser-Pay” legislation as an example of such reforms.
But Perry did more than just give a 3-point plan on the economy. He got at the fundamental difference between liberals and conservatives, between Democrats and Republicans, between Barack Obama and – Rick Perry. Perry cast the 2012 Election as the great decision of the American people about whether an ever-growing, more centralized and intrusive Federal Government knows best, or whether individual Americans know best.
“Our opponents on the left are never going to like us, so let’s stop trying to curry favor with them,” he said, before imploring the crowd to “stand up. Let’s speak with pride about our values. Let’s stop this American downward spiral.”
He acknowledged later with a smile, “I’m preaching to the choir here.”
Perry also warned that unless the “runaway train of ObamaCare” is stopped before 2014, it will break and destroy state budgets around the nation with its burdensome requirements. Perry forcefully called on conservatives to stop apologizing for standing up for the most vulnerable among us – the unborn. He clearly is seeking to bring together strong conservative stands on social issues and fiscal issues.
When he finished, the crowd was on their feet chanting, “Run, Rick, Run!”

Rep. Michele Bachmann speaking at the Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans where she slammed President Obama’s radical Environmental Protection Agency for seeking to tell Americans how to live their lives.

Bachmann particularly underlined a bill she has introduced to allow Americans to buy whatever light bulb they want to buy! She pledged: “President Bachmann will allow you to buy any light bulb you want in the United States of America!”

.

Here is a brief video clip of Herman Cain speaking in New Orleans today at the Republican Leadership Conference. Cain told the cheering crowd, “I have a dream.”
He went on:

“In fact, I have two dreams. The first dream that I have is that in November 2012, conservative Republicans are going take back the House and the Senate. I have a dream. I’ve got another dream for 2012. That dream is that you are looking at the next President of the United States of America!”

Wild Thing’s comment……..
There were many others that spoke and the conference lasted for three days.
Each of these three had a lot of highlights of their speeches and especially Perry who was excellent. His is the only one I could find that had the complete speech.

Carlos says:

“Our loudest opponents on the Left are never going to like us, so let’s quit trying to curry favor with them.”
“Let’s stand up. Let’s speak with pride about our morals and our values and redouble our effort to elect more conservative Republicans.”
“Let’s stop this American downward spiral.”
Readers, writers and friends here at Theodore’s World, mark your calendar. It started yesterday, Saturday afternoon June 18 in New Orleans:
Speaking well, and for just 20 minutes to 2,000 Republicans at the 2011 Leadership Conference, spoke the next President of the United States, a fifth generation Texan of Paint Creek, Abilene in West Texas, Air Force Captain James Richard “Rick” Perry:

Into his 11th year as Governor of Texas, this proof positive, determined conservative and soon to be GOP nominee can well run and win on his proven record:
48% of all job creation in America in the last two years were created in Texas,
#1 exporting state in the nation,
No state personal income tax, business friendly with stable, predictable low state taxes, and limited Texas government spending,
Aiding and supporting the productive to continue being productive by limiting frivolous lawsuits passing sweeping Tort Reform including Loser Pays in Texas,
Balanced budgets with a $6 Billion rainy day fund surplus in Austin,
All resulting in an expanding, growing Texas economy with low unemployment.
What’s not to love ? Yes, this is our man.
So contrasting and so diametrically opposed to the current White House policies of higher taxes, profligate spending, budget deficits with higher and higher cumulative debt, resulting in no growth and sustained higher unemployment, American voters will have a distinct choice next year clearly delineated.
We are at the cusp of a new American Renaissance defining for ourselves just what it means to be an American.

BobF says:

I like Herman Cain’s dreams.
Bachmann, Cain, and Perry are three outstanding choices.

BobF, I so agree. And, Carlos, I LOOOOOVE what Bachmann says, everything! She echoes exactly what is in my heart and mind!!!
