Perry Invites Governors to Prayer Rally
FOX News Dallas, Texas
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Gov. Rick Perry has invited the nation’s governors to join him in a prayer day to seek God’s guidance to deal with the problems facing America.
The day for prayer and fasting is planned for Aug. 6 in Houston and is sponsored by the American Family Association, a Christian advocacy group. The organization’s website says the event is intended to be a non-denominational, apolitical, Christian prayer service.

Texas Governor Rick Perry is putting together for August 6 at Houston’s Reliant Stadium. It is being called, “The Response,” and it will be a massive rally to call the nation to seek God’s guidance through prayer to deal with the economic and moral crisis facing America. Perry has invited the nation’s 49 other Governors to attend, and is partnering with the American Family Association in organizing the event. Perry said in a statement:

“Fellow Americans,
Right now, America is in crisis: we have been besieged by financial debt, terrorism, and a multitude of natural disasters. As a nation, we must come together and call upon Jesus to guide us through unprecedented struggles, and thank Him for the blessings of freedom we so richly enjoy.
Some problems are beyond our power to solve, and according to the Book of Joel, Chapter 2, this historic hour demands a historic response. Therefore, on August 6, thousands will gather to pray for a historic breakthrough for our country and a renewed sense of moral purpose.
I sincerely hope you’ll join me in Houston on August 6th and take your place in Reliant Stadium with praying people asking God’s forgiveness, wisdom and provision for our state and nation. There is hope for America. It lies in heaven, and we will find it on our knees.
Sincerely,
Rick Perry
Governor

Wild Thing’s comment……..
Can’t you just imagine how the left will hate hearing about this. Government is their God and Obama is their Mesiah.

Carlos says:

Environmentalism and equality is their religion and government is their church.
They believe in neither God nor prayer and are quick to ridicule anyone who does.
Their’s is a creed of sloth and deceit that wallows in failure and denial finding inequality and injustice in everything under the sun.
-A despicable, vile, loathsome creed that believes in neither God nor country, but a collectivist mindset that empowers and worships elitist central planners with dominion over all in a life by government ration for all of us.
They will be defeated simply because they must be defeated.

BobF says:

Just watched this on Fox News. Americans united for separation of church and state are up in arms over this. They’re calling it a Christian event but Gov Perry says all faiths and beliefs are invited. These people would rather see America destroyed than to have our leaders call upon God for guidance and help.

Wild Thing says:

Carlos, well put, all of that is so true.
And this I pray happens.
“They will be defeated simply because they must be defeated.”
