Liberal PBS Reporter Judy Woodruff Interviews Rep. Paul Ryan on Proposed Cuts: ‘Our Budget Literally Pays Off the Debt’

GOP Rep. Paul Ryan talking with PBS reporter Judy Woodruff about his proposed 2012 Federal Budget that was unveiled yesterday.
This video shows just how effective Paul Ryan is in thinking on his feet and handling the attacks from the Left. Woodruff tries everything she can to make Ryan and the plan look bad. Again and again she asks leading questions designed to cast the plan in a negative light – “So your plan would end Medicare as we know it?” – but Ryan would have none of it. At every point, he was able to refute the insinuations and negative characterizations of what the GOP approach will accomplish.
Ryan flatly told Woodruff that President Obama’s direction for the buget would double the debt by the end of his first term and triple the debt in the following years. In contrast, what he and the GOP are proposing would “literally pay down the debt.” Essentially, the choice being set before the nation is unending, burgeoning debt or solvency.
Paul Ryan is really impressive in both his grasp of the budget issues, and his ability to communicate on the topic in a way that makes sense.

Wild Thing’s comment……..
We really do have some great people in the Republican party. I pray every day for them to stay strong and know we support their efforts.
We have to get more conservatives elected and then also get rid of the rino’s.

Carlos says:

Conservative Paul Ryan of Wisconsin is doing a fine, excellent job in his position as House Budget Committee Chairman.
He says clearly, “We don’t have a problem with these deficits and debt because people don’t pay enough taxes. The problem is because Washington spends far too much money, money we don’t have, and that spending is the core root of our problem.”

TomR says:

Ryan is very sharp. He also appears to be a true conservative. Maybe a presidential bid in the future? I hope he remains loyal to his conservative beliefs and doesn’t become a compromiser.

Wild Thing says:

Carlos, I agree, he is doing great. I love how clear he speaks.
Tom, I hope he does too.
