U.S. Senate rejects bill defunding Planned Parenthood
Life Site News
In a 44-56 vote, the U.S. Senate has voted against a budget bill crafted by House Republicans that would have eliminated federal funding of Planned Parenthood.
The Democrat-led Senate also failed to pass its own budget bill, which contained much fewer spending cuts and maintained the abortion giant’s funding.
The vote marks the first stage of what promises to be a drawn-out battle between two opposite visions for the 2011 fiscal year, as well as between pro-life and pro-abortion forces fiercely gunning for or against the amendment de-funding Planned Parenthood.
Obama has promised to veto the House version as it stands.
Wild Thing’s comment……..
U.S. Senate Roll Call Votes 112th Congress
The 3 republican no votes were Rand Paul, Jim DeMint, and Mike Lee.
DeMint’s office in D.C.said…..He voted not to defund because the rest of the bill was about setting the budget for the YEAR, and it only allowed for an approximately 4% cut. The staffer said it is the GOP’s intention to continue to put the defunding in other bills.
Sadly, even Obama could have been aborted, but wasn’t! Over 51 million slaughtered babies that King Herod had nothing to do with….
Darth, yes that is one abortion I would have been ok with.
