RHINO Dem Lite Lindsey Graham: Tea party will ‘die out’

Politico
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) says in a forthcoming article that the tea party movement is “unsustainable” and will “die out” because it lacks vision.

Graham made the comments to The New York Times as part of a profile in Sunday’s magazine written by Robert Draper.

Graham argues throughout the story that the Republican Party will eventually move away from the fringe and join him closer to the political middle but that, for now, it has shifted too far to the right.

“Everything I’m doing now in terms of talking about climate, talking about immigration, talking about Gitmo is completely opposite of where the tea party movement’s at,” Graham says. “The problem with the tea party, I think, is it’s just unsustainable because they can never come up with a coherent vision for governing the country. It will die out.”

Graham later says that the GOP has shifted so far that Ronald Reagan would have trouble getting elected in today’s party.

“We don’t have a lot of Reagan-type leaders in our party. Remember Ronald Reagan Democrats? I want a Republican that can attract Democrats,” Graham told the Times

Wild Thing’s comment…….
Hard to believe the great state of South Carolina keeps electing this moron to the Senate.
““The problem with the tea party, I think, is it’s just unsustainable because they can never come up with a coherent vision for governing the country. It will die out.””
Our vision is called the constitution, you unprincipled idiot!

Sounds like Graham may be thinking about a run for the White House as a moderate. Doesn’t he realize that because of “moderate” Repubs, the Repub Party is now the minority party? What a poor reference he made to Reagan. Reagan was a real conservative and that is why he was so popular.

Sean says:

Lindsay Graham has been on the wrong side of the Republican Party for a long time.
It was he and John Mc Cain that were all over Bush’s Amnesty Plan, even the second time.
During the Kagan hearings, he’s sharing witty repartee, with the Nominee, rather than asking probing questions.
He is a typical Elitist Political Hack, who has little or no experience in “Real Life”. In other words, an A-hole.
I agree, it is unbeliveble that the folks can continue to elect this piece of garbage. Especially when you see that their other Senator is Jim DeMint. What a difference!

Bob A says:

Come cast your vote on why these A holes keep getting elected.

Just shows you how many people don’t pay attention. This is why the Health Care passed. Sure there were calls plenty of calls, but not a majority like they’d never seen before. This is what they count on is people not paying attention.
In Graham’s case, his constitutents won’t make the same mistake twice.
The tea party can make a huge difference and shove this little fat bastard back to podunk South Carolina where he belongs.

Graham wants “a Republican who can attract Democrats”… that’s RINO Steele today. He forgets that Democrats during Reagan’s time included folk who were patriotic and basically conservative. Now, those folk are simply called “Republicans” because Democrats are now leftist, unpatriotioc fatheads– as Reagan said, the party left them. Graham should just becomea Democrat and stop trying to fool himself and everyone else.
