Poll: Sen. Dodd Trails Foe by 10 Points
Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., has fallen behind his Republican challenger by 10 points, according to a new poll.
In the latest Rasmusssen Reports survey, Dodd drew the support of 39 percent of respondents, while former GOP Rep. Rob Simmons attracted 49 percent. Six percent said they weren’t sure who they’d vote for in next year’s election, while 5 percent said they’d prefer another candidate.
While Simmons is Dodd’s main Republican challenger, other Republicans interested in his Senate seat include state Sen. Sam Caligiuri, former U.S. Ambassador to Ireland Tom Foley, and Euro Pacific Capital president Peter Schiff. All three are essentially even with Dodd when matched up against him.
Other results of the Rasmussen poll:
4 percent of Connecticut voters rate the economy as good or excellent/
46 percent say the economy is in poor shape.
36 percent say the economy is getting better.
39 percent say the economy is getting worse.
47 percent fear that the government will do too much in responding the economic problems.
44 percent fear that the government will do too little.
52 percent favor the healthcare plan proposed by President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats.
46 percent are opposed.
Wild Thing’s comment…..
It sure would be great if a Republican won and better yet a conservative if that is at all possible. It really amazed me that John Murtha was voted back again.
….Thank you Mark for sending this to me.

Up here in blue statesville CCCP we hope that NJ Gov. Corzine LOSES to Christie and that Virginia’s governor will be a Republican too soon… The TEA Party Voters will decide – Democrats, Republicans and Independents… WE THE PEOPLE have had enough already.
I am hoping there will be a lot of turnover in Congress in 2010.
Losing their majority in 2010 would be a great way to stop this evil maniac. Then he’d have a new congress to treat with.
Darth, I hope so too. That NJ Gov. Corzine
is horrible. Nick has a cousin and his wife
that live in N.J. and they can’t stand
NJ Gov. Corzine.
Tom, oh me toooooooo.
I would love to see the media with their
jaws dropped in shock at the huge
turn around.
Mark, ( evil grin) oh how I would love that.
