An “Inconvenient Truth” er um Forecast

Wild Thing’s comment…….
Hey! What happened to global warming? Or, wait, I guess this is “climate change.” It’s so hard to keep up with all the faux science from the Church of Algore.

I can see Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Capone Gore has … gained a few pounds since blowing the 2000 presidential election! – Boo Boo Bear 2008

BobF says:

The Northeast and Midwest are having record snowfalls this year too. South America had its coldest winter in 90 years.
My parents who live in Upstate New York would sure like some global warming as their heating bills during the winter are killing them.

TomR says:

Al Gore was raised in a luxury hotel and limos and corporate jets. The temperature was always 74 degrees. He did not know there was such a thing as changing weather. “Hey Al, it’s a natural occurrence.”

Jack says:

I always think of Chicken Little as Al Capon Gore.
I often wonder if his Napoleonic goal is to be Secretary General of the UN where he can be a full time useful idiot. I do hope Mr Capon gets his talking points from sources outside the General Assembly, here is an interesting link to look at trends. http://www.wrcc.dri.edu/enso/uspmaps.html
I remember that 1951-52 and 1965-66 were particularly nasty winters in my area. I’m Sorry WT that you are having a cold snap, it seems that the frost or the wind take a lot of the fabulous citrus crop from Florida. Come on sunshine.

Mark says:

Hehehehe … Cold in Florida is it ? Well welcome to winter.
This non-sense about global warming would be funny if congress had not screwed with the energy bill. They keep talking about re-newable energy, which in itself is an Oxymoron but congress is filled with morons.

Rhod says:

Zero here in CT this morning, with a brisk thirty-knot wind. It’s soared up to 15 now.
The global warming cranks will, however, always say this: Short-term conditions are called weather, and long term conditions are called climate. Therefore, the temperature today is irrelevant, and over the long term the planet is still warming by man-made interference.
Glib factoids like this one always give the advantage to the revolutionaries and authoritarians. With just enough info to state a vague truth, they can insert conclusions by implication, which are readily believed by the ignorant, stupid and immature.
The long term triumph of revolutionary Marxism was stated in the same way, as an inevitability with momentary setbacks. Anything that disputed the rule was simply temporary, and doubters were deviants who must be eliminated.
Gore, of course, is too witless to be this clever. He just has the power needs of the screwloose dictator, and has latched on to global warming like it was alchemy, and he can control reality with it. This buffoon is very dangerous.

Rhod says:

Oh yeah. I spent the winter of 1961-62 in Tampa. At some point – forgot when – the temp dropped to 18 degrees. Smudge pots burned in the groves but saved nothing. All the hibiscus bushes were frozen to the soil level (died), jacaranda trees lost branches, and sprinkler systems people used to keep plants wet and (they believed), below freezing temperature turned everything into ice sculpture. Everything came back, nothing was permanently lost. This stuff happens.

Wild Thing says:

Darth, hahaha yes and lot of fur or wait maybe this is a distant relative.

Wild Thing says:

Bob, that makes it doubly hard, the cold and the cost of staying warm.

Wild Thing says:

Tom hahaha good one.

Wild Thing says:

Jack, Nick hates the cold and I am loving it. hhahahaha I miss the seasons so I am really enjoying these few cold days we will be getting.
That is so funny what you said “Chicken Little as Al Capon Gore.”….I am going to visualize that from now on when I hear his name. Thanks for the link too.

Wild Thing says:

Mark , yes our cold compared to what you have is like nothing down here. I thought you would get a good chuckle out of our temperature. giggle

Wild Thing says:

Rhod, that is exactly what Gore is and about.
Wow 18 degrees, yes that would do a lot of damage to the various crops down here. And make the prices of orange juice as well go way up. augh
Your temp’s there are bitter cold, the kind a person has to be careful when outside.

Wild Thing says:

Les thanks for the links. I was looking earlier for the one on Orlando I really appreciate it.
Fur coats, giggle I have one and love it. I bet Peta hates that link about Russia and fur coats. heh heh Good one!!

Mark says:

WT I know I was just pullin yer chain, but to add insult to injury … My friggin Pipes are frozen again…AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh

Wild Thing says:

Mark oh yesss I did giggle I knew you were just kiddin me.
Oh noooo,I am so sorry about your pipes there.
I remember how my Dad used to have one of the faucets in the basement just sort of dripping in the winter months if it got especially cold. He said he helped the pipes not to freeze up but sometimes that didn’t help.
Winters can be beautiful out a window but when person has to deal with all that comes with it, that makes everything twice the work and dangerous too.
