Democrats They Speak For Their Terrorists Friends

These comments were made before Gen. Petraeus testified, as required by Congress:
“We cannot take any of this administration’s assertions about Iraq at face value anymore. The fact remains, gentlemen, that the administration has sent you here today to convince the members of these two committees and the Congress that victory is at hand. With all due respect to you, I must say: I don’t buy it.” —Rep. Tom Lantos
“Gen. Petraeus has made a number of statements over the years that have not proved to be factual.” —Harry Reid
“The stay-the-course strategy by General Petraeus and the president to leave all troops in Iraq has been rejected by the American people..[who are tired of this kick-the-can approach and are demanding a new direction in Iraq.” —Nancy Pelosi
“If in fact the circumstances on the ground are exactly what they are today in March of next year, will you recommend the continuation of somewhere between 130 to 160-thousand troops being shot at, killed and maimed everyday?” —Hillary Clinton
“I was against the war, I continue to be against the war, and I’m going to do everything I possibly can to bring American troops home at the earliest possible time.” —Ted Kennedy
“None of us should be fooled—not the American people, not you in the media, not us in Congress. We should not be fooled into this tactical success debate… There is no military solution.” —John Kerry
“I think the American military certainly made a difference there, but they were working in conjunction with the Sunni tribal leadership who made a determination that they needed to do something to stop al-Qa’ida, that al-Qa’ida was a bigger threat than the American presence, and so they began to cooperate with us.” —John Edwards
“The fact of the matter is that American lives remain in jeopardy and… if every single jihadi in the world was killed tomorrow, we’d still have a major, major war on our hands.” —Joe Biden
“If every jihadi were dead, who would we be fighting? “I feel the United States is engaging in an illegal occupation of Iraq.” —Dennis al-Kucinich on Syrian TV

And this during the questioning of Petraeus and Crocker:

Hillary opened her questioning of Petraeus and Crocker with the standard “I honor you for your service.” And then she let the two of them have it.
“You have been made the de facto spokesmen for what many of us believe to be a failed policy” in Iraq, Clinton said. “Despite what I view is your rather extraordinary efforts in your testimony both yesterday and today, I think that the reports that you provide to us really require a willing suspension of disbelief.”
Clinton added that “any fair reading of the advantages and disadvantages accruing post-surge, in my view, end up on the downside.”

Wild Thing’s comment……..
I love what Rush said:
“It’s getting close to the point where Osama bin Laden could deliver the keynote speech at the Democrat National Convention.” —Rush Limbaugh

Lynn says:

Okay–what would have happened to us had we NOT stayed the course in the American Revolution?
Or what if we had done nothing when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor (the UN didn’t want us to join the war effort, you know) or if the south had won the Civil War?
These idiots aren’t thinking of the past and how different we would all be had we not stayed the course.
It’s imparative we do this right.
Cold, calculating, intelligent moves.
Keep the enemy on it’s toes.

hipotecas says:

Osama is Laughing
After Osama bin Laden attacked America on 9/11 he laughed at what he thought was a great accomplishment. Then we blasted Al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan and Osama was not laughing; he was in despair. So what did we do? We let him slip away at Tora Bora which brought him laughter again. When we removed our troops from Afghanistan and brought them to Iraq, he must have split his sides laughing.
Every 9/11 since then has been a day of laughter and joy to Osama. But none so much as yesterday’s and today’s hearings featuring General Petraeus. Essentially, Petraeus said and is saying that we should stay the course and fight in Iraq. Just what Osama was “praying” for. He wants a war of civilizations and we are presenting it to him.

Rhod says:

What? I have no interest in Hopotecas’ link, only his post and sub-rational logic.
The war in Afghanistan, in which one of my sons served, is a war with fundamentalist Pashtuns and Waziris, aggravated by long-standing border and ethnic tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Bin Laden is in the border hills, if he’s alive, because the local rock apes are sympathetic to his anti-modernist views; not because of Al Qaeda or any larger war on the West.
The war in Iraq isn’t about democracy. It’s about preventing the country from degenerating into the kind of failed state that can function, like Afghanistan before 2003, as a vast staging area for the war on civilization that Bin Laden wants.
This isn’t difficult.

Mark says:

Are you going to hide in a hole, Hipo, This war on civilization is the only War we got.
You can’t live for ever, either lead, follow or get the hell out of the way.
If we get out of Iraq like you and Harry Reid want, start thinking Pol Pot, and his death squads, that will compare as a cake walk compared to what will happen in Iraq.
Try supporting your country for a change, you know the good guys. The one’s putting it on the line for your sorry ass. So as you can spout this anti-American crap.

Wild Thing says:

Darth, thanks for the verse it is perfect describing this.
I have heard that minister before, Dr. Kennedy he was always good.

Wild Thing says:

Lynn, exactly, history would be completely different. I agree it is imparative and there is no other way.

Wild Thing says:

hipotecas, blah blah blah.
And just and FYI I am not clicking on your link, not interested at all. I heard enough BS on the news and in our morning newspaper everyday.

Wild Thing says:

Rhod that was excellent, thank you.

Wild Thing says:

Mark, it sure is anti-American crap. Thanks Mark.
