Jesse Jackson arrested at gun protest
CHICAGO — The Rev. Jesse Jackson was arrested Saturday at a demonstration outside a south suburban gun shop and charged with one count of criminal trespass to property.
Jackson was arrested when he refused to move away from the entrance to Chuck’s Gun Shop in Riverdale, police said. He has protested with other community activists outside the shop in recent weeks after a 16-year-old honor student was gunned down on a city bus.
Police said the shooting was gang-related but the teen was not the intended target.
Jackson, who says the gun shop’s proximity to Chicago provides gang members and criminals easy access to firearms, has used the protests to call for stricter gun laws.
Two teens have been charged as adults with taking part in the May shooting of Blair Holt, an honor student at Julian High School.
Wild Thing’s comment……..
Blaming the gunshop for the kids death is like blaming the sewers for the fact that Jackson’s full of $hit.
Jesse, sweet jesse, it isn’t the guns killing kids. It’s the idiots behind the gun.
Leave it out loaded–yeah, it might get picked up and used by some young child, but you were the idiot who left it there unattended.
And even if guns were banned, criminals would find a way to have them. You know that–you’re a very intelligent man.
And look at the stats from countries who did ban guns–the crime rate went way up because the criminals knew you couldn’t defend yourself anymore in your own home.
If a person doesn’t want a gun, fine. But don’t take that right away from someone who does and knows how to use it correctly and keep it out of little hands who might think it a plaything.
Jesse hasn’t been in the “lime light” for a while. You would think he’d pick something more substantial to protest against. Something that makes more sense like “Gang Violence”. Shame on you Jesse. What would the Rev. King think about you not obeying the law by refusing to move when asked by the police. But you accomplished your goal. You’re in the news.
I do not understand the foolishness that Mr. Jackson exhibits regarding gun control. Banning firearms because a criminal commits a crime with a firearm is like banning matches because an individual intentionally starts a house on fire. Both seem equally ineffective to prevent the crime. It is time we hold the criminal(s) accountable instead of punishing the tool of the criminal(s).
Gun Control works, I grew up with them, my guns under my control. Once I came home from a successful Moose hunt, covered in blood, a week’s growth of beard and bad B.O. I had just unloaded my rifle and had put it inside the house and was in the process of unloading my revolver when my doorbell rang, thinking the wife had locked herself out I answered the door, there was my new neighbor to introduce himself. Well, his eyes were big and he sputtered a lot, we introduced ourselves, me a bloody apparition, gun in hand, he was impressionable and I didn’t get to know him for another year. I still snicker about that encounter but the whole damn neighborhood was aware that there was a guy with guns at the end of the block because of his squawking and I had no more trespassing or thefts.
Jesse is dead wrong in his causes, he has always been the anarchist championing the Communist ideals and attacking all that has built this nation. He could be staging his protest in front of any crackhouse, at the border where heroin is brought in, or at any school where there is a drug problem, instead he always plays the race card trying to incite a riot. Reverend King paid the price for Jesse’s transgressions, since he hasn’t the brainpower to understand the difference, a rap alogside the head is useless, he needs a few lessons in Bastinado to get his attention. With my blessings of course. Perhaps the criminal is…..Jesse.
He is just grandstanding again.
Jesse loves Jesse. Jesse hates Whites. Jesse is a crook.
Guess that covers it!
I love WT’s comment.
Hey,now there are 2 people in jail who don’t have REAL jobs. Jesse and Paris…! No one can tag me as Racist, I think both of them are where they should be and that’s out of public circulation. What would you be willing to bet they both have guns or people with guns right next to them. How safe do you think the good reverend (used loosely) would be in Mississippi on a Friday night without his bodyguards?
Yeah, Gun Control, I always use two hands, ‘you don’t hurt’em if you don’t hit’em’, especially with an M1911A1.
And what is the possibility that the ‘Perps’ used a legal hand-gun, probably 10,000 to 1 and if it was legal it was probably stolen.
I can’t decide who has cornered the market on, stupid, Jackson or Al Sharpton, both of these morons ought to find a job and JUST get out of the way.
Lynn, I agree, there are no good or bad guns, it is the person with the gun that is good or bad.
Rebecca, your right, that is what he wanted, to get in the news again.
Paul yes, it is stupid to punish the gun, the gun shop owner etc. They only sold a product and nothing more.
I will never understand why they would rather punish anything or anyone other then the real criminal.
Jack, LMAO gosh I love that story so much.
Tom, heh heh, thank you.
Jim, if they didn’t know it was him, probably not too safe.
Mark, hahahahaha I think it would be a tie between Jackson and Al Sharpton.
haha
