Imprisoned Border Agent Beaten By Fellow Inmates

Monica Ramos embraces her husband, former U.S. Border Patrol agent Ignacio Ramos, two days before he was sentenced to 11 years in prison.

wnd

Less than one week after being transfered to a federal prison, Ignacio “Nacho” Ramos was severely beaten by as many as five illegal immigrants who, during that attack shouted, “Death to the Border Agent!”

Nacho was assaulted Saturday night around 2200 by about five illegal immigrants. He has multiple and severe injuries. They put him in isolation for now, he has not been allowed to see a doctor since Saturday. They were yelling at him in Spanish, “Maten a la migra!” which means “Kill the Border Patrol agent.”
Another family member said Nacho was attacked after he fell asleep Saturday night. Assaulters went after him with repeated blows and kicks. Ramos suffered wounds to his back, shoulder, arms and head. There is concern that Agent Ramos was not given medical treatment after the incident and may not have received medical attention for up to 48 hours.
He said he didn’t have a chance to turn around and look at any of the guys attacking him at that time. He just felt a blow to the back of his head. The prisoners were kicking him with steel-toe shoes, the work boots they are issued in prison. They kept kicking and kicking. And they kept calling him in Spanish a **** immigration officer, saying ‘darle, darle,’ which means, ‘give it to him.’ They were cussing him out in Spanish. He couldn’t fight back, he was outnumbered.
Ramos has a concussion and blood coming out of his ears. The illegals want Ramos & Compean dead!! The word is out.

Wild Thing’s comment…….
This is an update from my other post I did about these two men. I am furious about this and everything about it is just WRONG!
I have been watching this story since it happened the other day. I was hoping and praying these two Border Agents would be freed especially after this beating that was done to one of them. No such luck.
Congressman Duncan Hunter (R), has been on this since it happened, and even after he was personally promised that these guys would never be admitted to the general population and then dumped Ramos in a general population that is 27% illegal aliens. The government has lied about this case every step of the way.

Lynn says:

Okay–so he does his job and goes to prison for it?
I don’t get it.
If anyone needs a pardon, it’s this guy.
Let’s all write our congressmen to pressure the President to pardon him.
He’s a good man who didn’t deserve this punishment.

Rhod says:

Pardon him? The Bush administration Justice Department lied, through the Dept of Homeland Security, in order to lock him up!! The same Justice Department that permitted the lying, traitorous thief Sandy Berger to walk free.
Bush couldn’t care less about these guys. I’ve finally freed myself from the illusion that George Bush will do the right thing on immigration, or practically any other issue. The fate of these men is one of the most disgraceful episodes of the past seven years.

TomR says:

Agree with Rhod 100%. The jailing of these two Border Patrol agents is a travesty of justice.
I expect the next two years to be hell, not so much because of a democrat controlled Congress, but because of a bungling President Bush who gets farther and farther away from my political and moral philosophy.
I remember “New World Order” Bush 41 wasting, abandoning and basically snubbing the Reagan agenda that he rode into the White House on the coattails of. That led to the introduction of the Clintons. Bush 41 also snubbed his Conservative base with his childish public snubbing of the NRA after years of asking, and getting, their loyalty.
Now we have “Compassionate Conservative” Bush 43. He is fighting the War on Terror and he has lowered taxes. How well is he fighting the WOT?? He fired Rumsfield the day after the election, only days after pledging unwavering support. Was that maybe a year or so late? Is there profiteering going on in this war by Administration members(Haliburton)? Did we need more troops all along? Have the ROE been too (political) restrictive? What was behind the scenes in our wavering support for Israel’s shortened war in Lebanon? One question answered, Bush is a poor leader who can’t(won’t) communicate.
And, Bush did indicate he could work with the Dems on taxes, like his dad worked with the dems on taxes.
He overlooks or brushes off the other critical half of our WOT, the Cultural War. He virtually laughs in our face on immigration issues(Daddy’s NWO?). Dept of Homeland Security = little old Black ladies being strip searched while Middle Eastern males are not profiled. Border Patrol agents and sheriffs deputies being tried for violating the rights of illegal alien drug dealers. Bush telling America the illegals are only doing work we won’t do. American seaport security being farmed out to Islamic companies.
I could go on for quite a while on what I think is wrong with President Bush. It hurts at times to have to defend him against the Liberal onslaught. They just hate him and want us to lose the war, yet he is their ally on immigration. The two Bush’s have made me appreciate even more the greatness of Ronald Reagan.
Please RNC, no more Bushs.

Mark says:

I agree with Rhod and TomR
I read somewhere only about 10% of the moslims are of the Radical variety. Thats the good news, bad news is there are almost a Billion moslims in the world, That is an awful lot of moslims who want to kill the ‘Evil Satan’. Ten (10%) of 1 Billion is one hell of a big Army of nutcases who want to blow us up.
Also there are two border agents locked up fot doing their job Ramos and Compien. Bush has all but said no he would not pardon them, yet he is willing to grant Amnesty to Mexican, Child Molestors (Last count their were 250,000 of them, seems Mexico is shipping there bad apples North), Murderers, Drug smugglers, Gangs, Border robbers et al.
We keep hearing about all the jobs Americans won’t do, like all these migrant pickers, Has no one ever heard of the Industrial Revolution, surely they have, we have caused all this pollution and Global warming … Well surprise surprise, we have machines that can do the same job all these Illegals can do,(So McCain and Bush why do we need all these migrant workers) and in less time about 1/3 the time and no bathroom breaks and no E-coli laced lettuce because these workers refuse to bathe or even wash their hands from the bathroom breaks.
It has been found by the CDC, that alot of these migrants are like ‘Typhoid Mary’, they are carriers of different diseases but never catch them.
This whole border debacle goes back to the North American Allience that Bush is pushing, the Allience is suppose to encorporate Canada, the United States and Mexico, one big nation no Borders … so much for American sovreignty.
We had better wake up.

Wild Thing says:

Lynn he sure is a good man. These two agents should never have had this happen to them.
It feels like America is upside down or something.

Wild Thing says:

Rhod, Tom and Mark. I agree 100% with what you all have said.
This whole thing makes me sick. I agree Bush couldn’t care less about these men. I am so angry…heart broken.

Rhod says:

I came into this world a trusting conservative, and over the years voted as a trusting Republican. I’ve never been in the Black Helicopter crowd, or a resentful, angry vet, hated anyone (for very long), or harbored serious feelings of despair about America.
But nowadays, nothing makes an sense to me. When reasonable, functioning ideas crumble to dust, the mind searches for unity, for continuity, for explanations. Any explanation. Some scary ones are emerging now.
This is pretty early for me on a set of new ideas. But one thing is true for me now: I do not trust the American government, I think it is illegitimate, that the Iraq War (in which three of my sons did, or currenty are, taking part) is no longer coherent, moral or defensible IF WE DO NOT DEFEND THE COUNTRY AT HOME.
Something is afoot.

Tincan Sailor says:

Something smells and it ain’t fish. These 2 were
convicted by a jury right??? were they framed?
Why is a federal officer main streamed??? They
will give a child molester PC why not a federal
officer???How did 5 convicts get into this mans
cell??? Why was medical aid not given right away?
Should not the warden be fired??? As I said
something smells and it ain’t fish or Denmark!!

Jack says:

Maybe Kerry’s nads aren’t the only ones in Hillary’s lockbox, eh George?

Rhod says:

…and no man or woman should be subjected to the horrors and consequences of combat in defense of another nation when the Commander in Chief rolls out the red carpet for Al Qaeda, drug lackeys, and escapees from Latin America who are search of a “better life”. Over 3000 American soldiers, Marines, Airmen and Swabs sacrificed their better lives for the better lives of Arabs. It’s obscene that we honor their sacrifice with an open border. Bush is a failure.

Tincan Sailor says:

Well I hate to rain on anyones parade but in the
paper to-day 2-8-07 the Feds say they will let
20,000 displaced Iraqi’s into the good old USA
every year…Now ain’t that warm and fuzzy!!!!!

Tincan Sailor says:

Here is a post from Blackfive that tells how
it is and its time for some changes…It could be
a time for a recall election of some state and
federal officals…
Toothless Troops

No, this is not about the CAT2 or 3 guys that have to see a dentist, but the poor Guard troops defending our borders, and the castration they’ve received in being able to actually GUARD it.
As was reported last month (Jan 3d timeframe) a group of Mexican nationals, believed to be drug-cash smuggling illegals, stumbled upon a National Guard observation post on the Arizona-Mexican border.
As were their instructions and orders, the Guardsmen ‘retreated’ and reported the incident to Border Patrol officers. Who, apparently, did nothing. The troops ROE states that unless fired upon, they are not to engage illegals, smugglers, or druggies in any way. Many of those posted to the border don’t even carry firearms (some, in logistical support roles, may not need to. Yet)
What goads me is the ‘de-fanging’ of the US military INSIDE OUR OWN BORDERS. With every incident of this type, it will continue to embolden these criminals to the point where our troops will then become free targets…
Numerous articles in the press have indicated that new training will include HOSTAGE training for Guardsmen who are assisting the Border Patrol.
But the incident made some National Guard commanders nervous enough to move up training dates for handling hostage situations. And some lawmakers have questioned why the rules prohibit the Soldiers from opening fire unless they are fired upon. (AP)
Hostage training? Like, how to BE a hostage??? COME ON! What would have happened if we took this stance with Zarqawi? So, now we let our guys be sitting ducks, open to being taken hostage, and we don’t let them protect themselves?
INSIDE OUR OWN BORDERS????
Folks, this is ridiculous. Absolute insanity. Unbelievably, our own soldier force is being castrated, and more and more relegated to being paper tigers. As many of you realize, Armed Forces are not for POLICING. They are for PROTECTING- and if that means force, by golly, that’s what it will take. While the Guard takes on more mission types than just about any force in the world, putting them on a border, removing their ability to engage ILLEGAL DRUG SMUGGLING with force, is tantamount to making them Boy Scouts (and no slam on them, either- I’m an Eagle). In this situation, they should not be employed without full capability to defend and prevent incursions.
We are turning our troops into paper tigers- weakening our ability to defend our own borders, and making guys who go from border patrol to Baghdad patrol incapable of adequately performing their missions.
If they don’t have ability- that is, by ROE- to engage these CRIMINALS, wtf are we doing??? Worrying about a few VOTES?
Neither US Border Patrol Agents nor US National Guard troops are allowed to protect the US-Mexico border region. Border Patrol Agents are prosecuted for doing their jobs and National Guard troops are not allowed to use their weapons against Mexican gunmen who cross our border illegally. Many people have and are speculating that it is the trilateral Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP) that has taken precedence and authority over US sovereignty.
Note: The SPP effectively provides no borders to illegal immigrants throughout the North American continent. Only legal citizens are, now, required to provide passports. (Post-Chronicle)
And this:
National Guard troops were confronted by 6-8 Mexican gunmen who were wearing military uniforms, body armor and carrying automatic weapons. Testing their strategy, the gunmen are reported to have split into two groups and then surrounded the observation post. In order to avoid confrontation, the guardsmen backed away, entered their Humvees and reported the incident to the USBP-leaving the gunmen in control of the US post.
And, unbelievably, a LT who obviously hasn’t been there:
First Lt. Wayne Lee, a spokesman for the New Mexico National Guard, said Soldiers “are not supposed to get into a firefight. It’s not the Sunni Triangle.”
IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME- this will escalate- you can bet on that. There will be a group, more than likely high on drugs and carrying cash they don’t want captured, that will be emboldened to fire upon the outposts and keep on truckin’. What complicates this is, -and I’m NOT goofing here- that when it does happen, and we got bad guys in jail this side of the border from it, their lawyer is going to screw up the Army something fierce. ”Ok, were they Title 10 or 32 orders? 32? Ok, so why was a State protecting a Federal border? What jurisdiction? My guys go free- that was an illegal stop”.
We had some serious problems during Katrina with the Title-10 vice -32 issue (posse comitatus, for all you legal eagles out there). I can see us being set up for a near-revocation of this if we don’t allow our troops to be Federal (32), fully protecting our borders.
T.J. Bonner, president of the Border Patrol agents’ union, said the soldiers are unnecessarily at risk.
“It’s not like some picnic down there,” Mr. Bonner said. “Anyone down there enforcing the laws is going to be caught up in the violence.”
This, I’m afraid, is going to be cause celebre this summer if we don’t prepare…

BobF says:

Tincan, you can’t blame the Border Patrol agents for doing nothing when the Guard reported the incident. After what happened to Ramos and the other agent, we can’t expect the Border Patrol to engage illegals, especially drug runners, for fear of being prosecuted.
I wonder where Bush gets his ranch hands?

Tincan Sailor says:

BobF,
If you read my first post you can see I have a
Jaundiced eye on the whole git-go…It doesn’t
look good or does it smell good…and as far
as I know no blames the Border Patrol…The
Wolf has it spot on…

Wild Thing says:

Rhod oh how I agree with you. I feel so much like that.

Wild Thing says:

Tincan Sailor I agree something is very fishy going on and I am furious and so is my husband. He is fuming about this. Thanks for the Blackfive post too.

Wild Thing says:

Jack exactly the ole lockbox. Nick even said something last night about the lockbox I can’t remember his exact words. haha So much going in my brain right now I can’t rememeber.

Wild Thing says:

Bob excellent point. Wouldn’t it be something if the ranch hands….. oh well. We will never know. But you havew a good point and thank you.

Rhod says:

These two guys behaved as men who already knew they were working for a corrupt agency.

BobF says:

You know what this reminds me of? The incidents where our troops shot insrugents in the heat of battle where the insurgents turned out to be unarmed. Remember Lt. Ilario Pantano who they tried to Courts Martial and the Marine the reporter video taped who also was put through Hell after the incident. These men were sent into battle by President Bush and then his Pentagon went after these men like Pit Bulls. Same thing with the Border Patrol agents. Something does stink here.
Tincan, I was being facetious in my comment.
