Iran’s Khamenei says US midterm elections were a victory for Iran
TEHRAN, Iran (AP)
The Republican Party’s losses in the U.S. midterm elections were a victory for Iran and an international defeat for President Bush’s policies, Iran’s supreme leader said Friday.
Speaking to a crowd in the central city of Semnan, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said the Republicans’ losing control of both houses of Congress in Tuesday’s elections was not ”a mere domestic event.”
”Rather it marks the failure of the war-mongering policies of Bush worldwide,” Khamenei said, according to the official Islamic Republic News Agency.
As the United States had applied these policies to Iran:
”the defeat is in fact a landmark victory of the Iranian nation,” Khamenei said.
Khamenei, who has the final word on all key decisions in Iran, condemned the killing of 18 Palestinian civilians by Israeli tanks in a bombardment on northern Gaza on Wednesday.
Referring to Israel’s offensive against Hezbollah in Lebanon in July and August, which he called a ”disgraceful defeat” for the Jewish state, Khamenei said:
”It seems the Israelis are trying to take revenge on the poor Palestinians for that failure and shame.”
The supreme leader was visiting Semnan, 155 miles east of Tehran, on a provincial tour.

Well the media sure has delivered a cut and run message to Iran and Syria, it’s now up to the Dhimmocrats to carry it out. Khamenei is correct in his assumption, it’s like having Carter in the Whithouse again with both houses under their control. I’d rather have the enemy at my feet than at my throat, IMO the Dhimmies have it backward.
What’s very sad to me is people who say they voted Democrat just to punish Bush.
How sad. Those AINO’s can’t even bring themselves to call him Mr. President or even attempt to understand one thing he’s done.
Personally, I think the President has done a superior job in handling what has got to be one of the most difficult things to handle. My family is safer and financially better off because he cared enough to do what was right. I have a nephew in Iraq–He’s my pride and joy. We can’t leave them hanging and we can’t leave Iraq. We have to have a presence there to keep Iran from getting full control and blockading the Gulf. (And we all know full well, that is what they will do.) The Dems need to think long and hard and very carefully about what their next step will be. I do not want my children and my descendancy speaking Arabic or wearing Burkhas. This is America–don’t give up on her. Don’t sell her out. Our children are depending on us.
Oh, the democraps have such wonderful admirers! I read that there was celebrating in Mexico and Central America as they now expect open borders and full citizenship to the entire populations of those 3rd World failures.

Well, we’ll see. There’s nothing more frightening than an enraged liberal, and I have proof. Last summer they were screaming and threatening some Boy Scouts in CT because of the Scouts’ policy on gays. Iran has much to fear.
