Desert Surfing in Iraq

Soldiers having fun on their downtime. Just outside Ramadi Iraq

Billy says:

US troops in Iraq are undergoing medical tests do to reports of a high incidence of breathing difficulties combined with a rash similar to ‘road burn’ suffered by motorrcycle enthusiats

BobF says:

During Desert Storm their were more injuries from accidents caused by “screwing around” than their were from combat. But, that said, that looks like fun.

TomR says:

One of those guys is really good. I bet no OSHA rep would try to stop them. In Nam we tried parasailing with a parachute behind a jeep. Almost a disaster, but fun anyway. We also fished with grenades and went duck hunting with an M60 machine gun.
I can look back on that as dangerously stupid, but it also boosted morale at the time. The Vietnamese thought we were funny and liked our sense of humor and fun. A little bit of winning the hearts and minds of the people. I liked the Vietnamese and see them as a future ally.

Wild Thing says:

Billy I wonder if there is something in the sand there. From the things Saddam did like left over chemicals or something that exists in the sand.

Wild Thing says:

Bob I believe you, it is so hard for our guys. When they do get a tiny bit of time to have some fun and relieve trension they can and do get hurt with the things they do.
It is great to see them have fun and see how creative they are in doing it though. I agree with you it does look like fun.

Wild Thing says:

Tom….”parasailing with a parachute behind a jeep”………giggle…that sounds like fun!!

Jack Hamilton says:

damn won’ play for me. I got to get this puter worked on.
