Fall With It’s Unique Treasures

Autumn, Mount Desert Island, Maine

Earth Tone Treasures
Orange tints fade to yellow rust
and cold fall rains pull them down
and the ground carpeted with summer past
its just the same here all over town
summer fled warm times now bust
Crisp crackling leaf piles to jump in,
and wade through in happy moments
in our inner childlike joy long as they last
a vivid gift of the passing season sent
missed until they finally come again
wild thing

I love the seasons and Fall has such a clean crisp feel to it. I thought I would share this with all of you.

TomR says:

Fall is such an enjoyable time of the year. In Texas it is always welcomed by numerous festivals and fairs as we leave our summer heat.

Rhod says:

We brag about it up here in New England, but it happens all over this spectacular country. But around here the colors are supposedly more vivid (not so this year, for reasons of rain and tent moths) because of nitrogen deficiencies in the soil. Maybe we shouldn’t brag so much.

Wild Thing says:

Tom that is neat!! We always go to Oktoberfest. But fall in Florida is not beautiful like it is in other States. I miss it a lot.

Wild Thing says:

Rhod (smiling) no never stop bragging it is true. The areas up where you are have always been famous for the fall season.
As a child we always went to Boston every year in the fall for a week just to see the colors. Then we would drives through other States to see them as well.

Billy says:

Never sit under a coconut palm in the fall……Nice shot and poem WT, you captured the season.
Billy

TomR says:

Rhod – I have always heard how beautiful the foliage is in New England in the Fall. I have seen pictures and films and wish I could see it in person. The NorthEast and Pacific NorthWest are the only parts of the country I have not visited, sadly.
The Aspen leaves turning golden in the Colorado Rockies in September are another gorgeous sight. Aren’t we blessed to live in America!

Rhod says:

TomR:
“Blessed” is the only word. I need to be reminded of it from time to time.

Jack says:

Yes, we are blessed. My most memorable trip was into the Catskills and along the Connecticut border this time of year, with few exceptions the rest of the country has spectacular displays too. It’s funny but after years of living outside I flew home, took a rental car and went into the desert, I actually missed the Sagebrush. Weird:)

Wild Thing says:

Billy hahahah that reminds me of my first time in Hawaii and we were standing under a coconut palm and one coconut fell out of the tree and just missed us. hahahaha

Wild Thing says:

Jack I love how all over the USA there are such amazing scenes to capture and have fond memories of. No other country for me has what the USA does. We have something for everyone in nature.
