Why Is It That We Have To Speak English?

Why Is It That We Have To Speak English?
A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a Naval conference that included admirals from the U.S., English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies.
At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a group of half dozen or so officers that included personnel from most of the countries.
Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English. He then asked: “Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?”
Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied: “Maybe it’s because the Brits, Canadians, Aussies and Americans arranged it so you wouldn’t have to speak German.”
Suddenly the group became very quiet.

* Thank you Jack of Conservative Insurgent for sending this to me. I love it!

Suricou Raven says:

Its a variation on another joke I know:
A British air-traffic control inspector is visiting a german airport, listening to conversations with the pilots to ensure protocol is properly respected. During a particually complicated series of instructions to a plane regarding the position for a holding pattern, there is a misunderstanding due to a language problem – the flight, being international, is directed in English. The pilot is trained in English as used by pilots – technical terminology and numbers, but an otherwise limited vocabulary.
The pilot suggests a solution to the controller: “I am a German pilot, flying a German plane into a German airport under the direction of a German controler. So why do have to speak English!”
The inspector intervenes, picks up the microphone, and calmly answers, “Because you lost the war.”

Hahaha good one.

Jack says:

Thanks WT. Michael Alan Weiner, better known as Michael Savage has said it best with his socio-political beliefs centering around maintaining three aspects of the United States: “Borders, Language, and Culture.” Like him or not he calls it like he sees it.
Close the borders, establish English as the official language and get back to the Judeo-Christian values that founded this nation.

TomR says:

Absolutely Jack. Those three goals should have never been allowed to relapse.
Another reason for English – I bet the wealthiest 5% of the people in the world, regardless of nationality, speak English. English is the language of business.

Sierrahome says:

If I’m paying the taxes…we’re speaking my language. Simple, to the point and easy to understand.

Wild Thing says:

Hi YankeeMom, when Jack sent it to me I just had to post it. Glad you liked it too.

Wild Thing says:

Jack, Michael Savage is good and I agree he says it like it is.

Wild Thing says:

Tom, it sure is you are sooo right.

Wild Thing says:

Sierrahome excellent, I like how you put it.
