Lindsey Graham: Assad is Telling Trump ‘F- you’ By Reopening Airfield
Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., argued Syrian President Bashar Assad is effectively insulting President Trump by continuing to launch missions against rebel groups from the air base Trump struck with missiles on Thursday.
“Here’s what I think Assad’s telling Trump by flying from this base: ‘F- you,'” Graham said Sunday during an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
Graham, a frequent Trump critic, said he was heartened to see the president take action against the Assad regime this week in response to its chemical attack on civilians days earlier.

President Donald J. Trump Proclaims April 7, 2017, as Education and Sharing Day, U.S.A.

President Donald J. Trump Proclaims April 7, 2017, as Education and Sharing Day, U.S.A.
BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
A PROCLAMATION
At the core of the American Dream lies the belief that our futures are not pre-determined and can be improved through learning and hard work. On Education and Sharing Day, we acknowledge the critical role of families, schools, and religious and other civic institutions in nurturing in our children the values that enable them to realize the full scope of their ambitions.
Education and Sharing Day recognizes the remarkable efforts of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, to use values-based education to drive our Nation’s children toward the American Dream. As an educator, Rabbi Schneerson understood that education is incomplete if it is devoid of moral development. Working through a spirit of optimism, he strived to teach children to be honest, civil, respectful of differences, and self-disciplined, in addition to being intellectually rigorous.
On April 18, 1978, our Nation’s first Education Day, U.S.A., Rabbi Schneerson wrote that “we can neither be satisfied nor slacken our efforts” so long as “there is still one child that does not receive an adequate education.” These words inspire us today, as they did then, to empower our children and share with each of them the opportunity and promise of America. It is up to us to support our children in realizing their hopes and to encourage them to reach their fullest potential.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim April 7, 2017, as “Education and Sharing Day, U.S.A.” I call upon government officials, educators, volunteers, and all the people of the United States to observe this day with appropriate programs, ceremonies, and activities.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this sixth day of April, in the year of our Lord two thousand seventeen, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-first.
DONALD J. TRUMP

President Donald Trump Launches Military STRIKE against Syria” Statement by President Donald Trump on Syria

Donald Trump Launches Military STRIKE against Syria” Statement by President Donald Trump on Syria
Trump “Ordered a Military Strike a Airfield in Syria” Statement by President Donald Trump on Syria Trump launches military strike against Syria

Statement by President Trump on Syria
Mar-a-Lago, Florida
9:40 P.M. EDT
THE PRESIDENT: My fellow Americans: On Tuesday, Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad launched a horrible chemical weapons attack on innocent civilians. Using a deadly nerve agent, Assad choked out the lives of helpless men, women, and children. It was a slow and brutal death for so many. Even beautiful babies were cruelly murdered in this very barbaric attack. No child of God should ever suffer such horror.
Tonight, I ordered a targeted military strike on the airfield in Syria from where the chemical attack was launched. It is in this vital national security interest of the United States to prevent and deter the spread and use of deadly chemical weapons. There can be no dispute that Syria used banned chemical weapons, violated its obligations under the Chemical Weapons Convention, and ignored the urging of the U.N. Security Council.
Years of previous attempts at changing Assad’s behavior have all failed, and failed very dramatically. As a result, the refugee crisis continues to deepen and the region continues to destabilize, threatening the United States and its allies.
Tonight, I call on all civilized nations to join us in seeking to end the slaughter and bloodshed in Syria, and also to end terrorism of all kinds and all types. We ask for God’s wisdom as we face the challenge of our very troubled world. We pray for the lives of the wounded and for the souls of those who have passed. And we hope that as long as America stands for justice, then peace and harmony will, in the end, prevail.
Goodnight. And God bless America and the entire world. Thank you.

President Trump Welcomed the Wounded Warrior Project to the White House

President Trump Welcomed the Wounded Warrior Project to the White House
Donald Trump honored members of the Wounded Warrior Project in a ceremony at the White House Thursday. The president, who repeatedly promised to boost spending for Veterans Affairs on the campaign trail, addressed a room full of them, some in wheelchairs, others with prosthetics.
The members are participating in the Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride, a four-day bike ride through Washington that the charity says is an “opportunity for wounded service members and veterans to use cycling and camaraderie to overcome physical, mental, or emotional wounds.”
“Melania and I are deeply honored to join you all today and to stand here among real heroes — these are real heroes,” Trump said as he took the stage. “Secretary Shulkin and Secretary Zinke, who are standing right here in front of us, I want to thank you as we pay tribute to America’s heroes and winners. The soldier ride has been very unique. Thank you for organizing this event. And thank you for serving, those who have so bravely served our nation.”
“On behalf of the country, let me extend to all of the riders and your families the warmest possible welcome to the people’s house. I call it the people’s house. It’s the White House, but I call it the people’s house. You are all so amazing. You’ve risked all that you have, all that you possess, to keep our people safe and our democracy secure. We are going to keep it going for a long time folks. You’ve earned our freedom with your sweat and your blood. We salute you, we salute your service.”
“The story of today’s event is a story about America and the strength of our citizens. In 2004, a young man working in a tavern was moved by a desire to help his fellow Americans who were returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. So Chris Carney had the idea to ride a bike across the country and raise funds for the Wounded Warrior Project. He biked 4,000 miles — Where is Chris? Chris, stand up. Wow — and raised, at that time, $1 million. This act of devotion to our heroes inspired others. Since then, the soldier ride has become an annual even that uplifts our nation.”
“I am proud to continue this incredible tradition, and we are going to keep it going for a long time. I should have it for about seven more years,” Trump joked.
“Our way of life continues because of men and women who are willing to sacrifice anything and everything to protect their fellow warriors, and to protect all of this. Each of you has carved your place into the history of this incredible nation. The people of our nation thank you. They really thank you.”
