Who is Mike Klonsky?
Mike Klonsky, an Obama supporter and former associate of the radicals who formed the terrorist group the Weatherman, received a $175,000 grant from the William Ayers/Barack Obama-led Annenberg Challenge to run the Small Schools Workshop.
Klonsky belonged to the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) and was best friends with friends William Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn who later became famous for their acts of terrorism.

On May 12, 1969, Klonsky and four other SDSers were arrested at the organization’s Chicago national headquarters for assaulting a police officer, interfering with a firefighter, and inciting mob action[/b]. A prank call to a local police station said there had been a shooting at SDS’ offices. When the police arrived, Klonsky and the others were convinced it was a ruse to gain access to SDS’ offices.[1] Klonsky convinced the police everything was fine, when a second prank call brought local firefighters to the scene. When the police attempted to force entry to the offices, Klonsky and the others resisted. Convinced state repression of SDS was coming, Klonsky told a national television audience on CBS’ “Face the Nation” that police repression of the New Left was being planned by the U.S. Department of Justice.
In late 1969, Klonsky founded the October League, a communist party which in 1977 became the Communist Party, Marxist-Leninist. He was elected the party’s chairman. The group opposed Gay Liberation and supported the regime of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, Shah of Iran. Klonsky made several trips to China beginning in July 1977, where he was warmly received by government and Communist Party of China officials and treated to state dinners.

The official campaign website of Sen. Barack Obama has completely scrubbed a series of user-generated blog postings on the candidate’s site by a former top communist activist who is an associate of former Weathermen terrorist leader William Ayers.
The move has raised questions regarding Obama’s relationship with the deleted blogger, Mike Klonsky, who runs an education organization that was founded by Ayers and that received a substantial grant from a group directed by Obama.
Obama’s official site allows registered users to form groups and post content in online “community” blogs. The site boasts tens of thousands of such community blogs. Obama’s spokesmen previously have stated the campaign does not monitor all content posted on the blogs, but it promptly removes any content brought to its attention that is deemed inappropriate or hateful.
Klonsky posted several blog pieces on Obama’s site on education policy that did not contain what can be described as hateful material, but his postings were entirely deleted in June after several independent bloggers noted Klonsky’s connections to Obama and Ayers.
Klonsky is director of the Small Schools Workshop, an outreach program founded in 1991 by Ayers with the stated goal of providing support for teachers who want to create smaller learning environments. Ayers reportedly recruited Klonsky to head the Workshop.
Klonsky served with Ayers and Ayer’s wife, former Weathermen terrorist Bernadine Dohrn, in the Students for a Democratic Society group.
In the 1970s, Klonsky became a top communist activist and leader of the Marxist-Leninist Communist Party.
He reportedly identified as a Maoist, and traveled in 1977 to Beijing, where he held friendly meetings with the Chinese leadership.
In a brief conversation with WND yesterday, Klonsky would not state whether he is still a communist. He did not deny his associations with Ayers or his communist activism in the 1970s.
Klonsky’s blog postings were removed from Obama site during a period the presidential candidate has been repeatedly questioned about his relationship with Ayers, who is currently a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago and was a member of the Weathermen group, which sought to overthrow the U.S. government and took responsibility for bombing the U.S. Capitol in 1971.
Ayers has admitted to involvement in the bombings of U.S. governmental buildings in the 1970s.
Ayers told the New York Times in an interview released Sept. 11, 2001, “I don’t regret setting bombs. I feel we didn’t do enough.” He posed for a photograph accompanying the piece stepping on an American flag.
Last week, Ayers wrote on his blog he still feels not enough was done to oppose the Vietnam War, although he clarified, “I don’t think violent resistance is necessarily the answer, but I do think opposition and refusal is imperative.”

Obama and his campaign have been allowing these people and many others like this Mike Klonosky to have their community blogs at his campaign website. And this so called man wants to be President of the USA? God help us all if he wins.
We will see these kinds of people staying in the Lincoln bedroom, walking in the halls of our White House and dining on our tax dollars at State dinners. Then add in their influence on Obama that he obvioulsy sees nothing wrong in associating with them.

Revealed: UK’s first official sharia courts

ISLAMIC law has been officially adopted in Britain, with sharia courts given powers to rule on Muslim civil cases.
The government has quietly sanctioned the powers for sharia judges to rule on cases ranging from divorce and financial disputes to those involving domestic violence.
Rulings issued by a network of five sharia courts are enforceable with the full power of the judicial system, through the county courts or High Court.
Previously, the rulings of sharia courts in Britain could not be enforced, and depended on voluntary compliance among Muslims.
It has now emerged that sharia courts with these powers have been set up in London, Birmingham, Bradford and Manchester with the network’s headquarters in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. Two more courts are being planned for Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Sheikh Faiz-ul-Aqtab Siddiqi, whose Muslim Arbitration Tribunal runs the courts, said he had taken advantage of a clause in the Arbitration Act 1996.
Under the act, the sharia courts are classified as arbitration tribunals. The rulings of arbitration tribunals are binding in law, provided that both parties in the dispute agree to give it the power to rule on their case.

Siddiqi said: “We realised that under the Arbitration Act we can make rulings which can be enforced by county and high courts. The act allows disputes to be resolved using alternatives like tribunals. This method is called alternative dispute resolution, which for Muslims is what the sharia courts are.”

The disclosure that Muslim courts have legal powers in Britain comes seven months after Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, was pilloried for suggesting that the establishment of sharia in the future “seems unavoidable” in Britain.
In July, the head of the judiciary, the lord chief justice, Lord Phillips, further stoked controversy when he said that sharia could be used to settle marital and financial disputes.
In fact, Muslim tribunal courts started passing sharia judgments in August 2007. They have dealt with more than 100 cases that range from Muslim divorce and inheritance to nuisance neighbours.
It has also emerged that tribunal courts have settled six cases of domestic violence between married couples, working in tandem with the police investigations.
Siddiqi said he expected the courts to handle a greater number of “smaller” criminal cases in coming years as more Muslim clients approach them. “All we are doing is regulating community affairs in these cases,” said Siddiqi, chairman of the governing council of the tribunal.
Jewish Beth Din courts operate under the same provision in the Arbitration Act and resolve civil cases, ranging from divorce to business disputes. They have existed in Britain for more than 100 years, and previously operated under a precursor to the act.
Politicians and church leaders expressed concerns that this could mark the beginnings of a “parallel legal system” based on sharia for some British Muslims.
Dominic Grieve, the shadow home secretary, said: “If it is true that these tribunals are passing binding decisions in the areas of family and criminal law, I would like to know which courts are enforcing them because I would consider such action unlawful. British law is absolute and must remain so.”
Douglas Murray, the director of the Centre for Social Cohesion, said: “I think it’s appalling. I don’t think arbitration that is done by sharia should ever be endorsed or enforced by the British state.”
There are concerns that women who agree to go to tribunal courts are getting worse deals because Islamic law favours men.
Siddiqi said that in a recent inheritance dispute handled by the court in Nuneaton, the estate of a Midlands man was divided between three daughters and two sons.
The judges on the panel gave the sons twice as much as the daughters, in accordance with sharia. Had the family gone to a normal British court, the daughters would have got equal amounts.
In the six cases of domestic violence, Siddiqi said the judges ordered the husbands to take anger management classes and mentoring from community elders. There was no further punishment.
In each case, the women subsequently withdrew the complaints they had lodged with the police and the police stopped their investigations.
Siddiqi said that in the domestic violence cases, the advantage was that marriages were saved and couples given a second chance.
Inayat Bunglawala, assistant secretary-general of the Muslim Council of Britain, said: “The MCB supports these tribunals. If the Jewish courts are allowed to flourish, so must the sharia ones.”

Magazine photographer shoots McCain to look like monster
‘Hard-core Democrat’ boasts she tricked candidate into horror pic

When the Atlantic sought a portrait of GOP presidential nominee John McCain for the cover of its October 2008 issue, the magazine called self-described “hard-core Democrat” Jill Greenberg, who took the opportunity to purposefully make McCain look bad, including snapping a shot in which the candidate looms like a horror-movie monster.

“Some of my artwork has been pretty anti-Bush, so maybe it was somewhat irresponsible for them [The Atlantic] to hire me.” – Jill Greenberg

Greenberg, whose website – www.manipulator.com – advertises her heavily retouched photography style, told the editors of Photo District News that she chose to omit even a standard, complimentary retouching of McCain’s photos.

“I left his eyes red and his skin looking bad,” she said.

According to a report in PDNPulse, a professional photography blog by the editors of Photo District News, Greenberg tricked McCain during the photo shoot in early August into thinking he was lit by a modeling light, when in reality, the lighting was rigged from below to make McCain look awful.

The lighting effect caused by a strobe positioned below McCain cast large, dark shadows on the wall behind him, and the camera angle made him look more like actor Boris Karloff in the black-and-white movie Frankenstein than a presidential candidate.
“He had no idea,” said Greenberg in the PDNPulse interview.
Ultimately, the Atlantic didn’t choose the Frankenstein photo, opting for a different cover shot, but Greenberg proudly displays the monster shot on her website and reportedly is hoping to license it to another magazine.

After getting that shot, Greenberg asked McCain to “please come over here” for one more set-up before the 15-minute shoot was over. There, she had a beauty dish with a modeling light set up. “That’s what he thought he was being lit by,” Greenberg says. “But that wasn’t firing.”

What was firing was a strobe positioned below him, which cast the horror movie shadows across his face and on the wall right behind him. “He had no idea he was being lit from below,” Greenberg says. And his handlers didn’t seem to notice it either. “I guess they’re not very sophisticated,” she adds.

The Atlantic didn’t select the diabolical looking McCain for its cover.
Greenberg is hoping to license that image to some other magazine (she negotiated a two-week embargo with The Atlantic so she could re-license images from the shoot before the election).

Warned that the image is just the kind of thing that will stir up the anti-media vitriol in the conservative blogosphere, Greenberg said, “Good. I want to stir stuff up, but not to the point where I get audited if he becomes president.”

That said, she goes on to explain that she’s thought about replacing McCain’s mouth with bloody shark teeth and displaying the image on a billboard with the message that the candidate is a bloodthirsty war monger.

Given her strong feelings about John McCain, we asked whether she had any reservations about taking the assignment in the first place.

“I didn’t,” she says. “It’s definitely exciting to shoot someone who is in the limelight like that. I am a pretty hard core Democrat. Some of my artwork has been pretty anti-Bush, so maybe it was somewhat irresponsible for them [The Atlantic] to hire me.”

It was impossible for Jill Greenburg to set aside her political fanaticism just long enough to be a professional photographer. It’s one thing if she wants a photo to turn her political view on like many of us do with graphics and images all the time. It is another thing to be hired for a job and disrespect that job and the advertisers with the magazine in what she did.
Thank God she was not asked to take Sarah Palin’s photo. I hate to think what she would do with that assignment.
At her site it was very weird. Why on earth would people want photos of crying babies. Adorable precious babies crying,. That is so horrible to me, to make a child cry like at anytime, and it appears she did it just for a phoptograph???? GRRRRRRRRRRRR

Gov. Sarah Palin Changes Venue for Colorado Visit Monday

Tickets have run out for Governor Sarah Palin’s visit in just eight hours Friday. Now Palin’s campaign is changing the venue to fit everyone. The event will now be moved to the Westernaires Arena at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. This arena change will take place of the planned pancake breakfast in order to accommodate the demand.
NEWSCHANNEL 13 will be covering the event live on krdo.com with coverage begining at 9:00 a.m. Monday. The event is still free to the public and doors will open around 7 a.m. Monday September 15th.

Charlie Gibson misquotes governor, assuming she saw U.S. in ‘holy war’

The Los Angeles Times was among the news outlets crying foul after ABC’s interview yesterday with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, her first since Sen. John McCain named her his running mate.
The Times took Charlie Gibson to task for distorting statements Palin made about the Iraq war at her former Assemblies of God church in Wasilla, Alaska.
A well-circulated video shows Palin asking the congregation to pray that the nation’s leaders would send troops to Iraq “on a task that is from God.” But Gibson, apparently getting his information from an Associated Press story, frames the question with the assumption Palin is contending the U.S. was sending troops to Iraq on a mission from God.
“Are we fighting a holy war?” Gibson asked.
Palin disputed the characterization, pointing out she was paraphrasing Abraham Lincoln, who said, “Let us not pray that God is on our side in a war or any other time, but let us pray that we are on God’s side.”
The Times said Gibson “went on to take a second part of her comments out of context. Palin had asked the group to pray ‘that there is a plan, and that plan is God’s plan.'”
But Gibson dropped her reference to praying, the Times said, and instead quoted Palin as saying the war was God’s plan.
He asked if she believed the country was sending her son on a task from God.
“I don’t know if the task is from God, Charlie,” she responded, adding that she was proud of Track for “serving something greater than himself.”
New York Times TV critic Alessandra Stanley said that during the interview, Gibson, who “sat back in his chair, impatiently wriggling his foot,” had “the skeptical, annoyed tone of a university president who agrees to interview the daughter of a trustee but doesn’t believe she merits admission.”
The McCain campaign also criticized ABC’s characterization of Palin’s statements.
“Gov. Palin’s full statement was VERY different from the way Gibson characterized it,” McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds said in a prepared statement.
“Gibson cut the quote — where she was clearly asking for the church TO PRAY THAT IT IS a task from God, not asserting that it is a task from God,” he said.
“Palin’s statement is an incredibly humble statement, a statement that this campaign stands by 100 percent, and a sentiment that any religious American will share,” Bounds wrote.
Much was made by many pundits of Palin’s apparent inability to recognize the term “Bush Doctrine.”
But columnist Dan Froomkin of the Washington Post said he’s “not sure anyone is entirely clear on what the Bush Doctrine is at this particular moment.”
Mike Rappaport of the blog Right Coast called Gibson’s approach “bad form and bad journalism,” asking whether she agrees with the doctrine, without defining it. Rappaport pointed to Wikipedia’s entry on the Bush Doctrine, which documents that it’s a phrase associated with several different foreign policy positions and strategies.

Gibson should just admit he was acting as a surrogate for Obama. This is media bias at is worst! They tried hard to do a deliberate deception.
To their dissapointment I am sure they still failed at making Sarah look like an airhead. They failed at getting what they wanted… even in the edited interview she still came across as calm, likable and knowledgeable.
And this will not be the end of their dirty tricks. The debates are coming and the emphasis in the debates will be how to destroy McCain and Palin.
Obama is a total coward and so far will not meet McCain in a Townhall meeting. COWARD OBAMA!!!!!!!
If Republican candidates on any level continue to do taped interviews which I am totally against…….then Republican politicians need to go into these interviews with their own video crew. Even if it’s just an Aide with a video camera and they need to document every minute of it. Then when the press pulls this they need to release their own version of the interview. The press has gotten away with this stuff for too long.
Otherwise ONLY do LIVE interviews period!
ABC also not only edited the interview for content, but, they also blatantly edited the visuals by using using jump cuts.

Sarah Palin to visit Dallas on Oct. 3

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is scheduled to visit Dallas on Oct. 3 for a fundraiser and possibly a public rally.
Since becoming the Republican nominee for vice president, Ms. Palin has electrified the GOP base and helped John McCain surge in the polls. Local Republicans on Thursday were ecstatic that she’s coming to town.
“It’s a huge opportunity for Palin to be introduced to the people of Dallas who have seen her on television,” said Jonathan Neerman, chairman of the Dallas County Republican Party.
Ms. Palin will participate in a lunchtime fundraiser at the Fairmont Hotel. Tickets will cost $1,000 a plate. The top level being asked for host committee is about $57,000.
The money is being raised for the Republican National Committee.
Mr. McCain has opted for public financing for the general election campaign and does not have to raise campaign funds.
Mr. Neerman said he would try to get Ms. Palin to attend a separate event to introduce her to county Republicans who are not donors.

“We want her to do something with our grass-roots activists,” he said.

The Oct. 3 event, which will be one day after the vice presidential debate, would be Ms. Palin’s first trip to Texas since attending a Republican Governors Association meeting in Grapevine last April.

Michelle Walsh wanted to teach her 2nd-grade Girl Scout troop about the presidential election.
What the Naperville mother got was a lesson about the rough-and-tumble world of political finances.
Walsh said she called both campaigns and asked for free trinkets she could give the 7-year-olds to help them learn. If they did well, she explained, each Scout would earn her “Ms. President” patch. The tchotchkes would provide added incentive.
A representative for John McCain responded immediately, sending Walsh a box filled with stickers and signs.
The Barack Obama camp wasn’t quite so generous, Walsh said.

The troop leader said she called Obama’s Chicago campaign headquarters and explained why she needed the curios. Walsh said she was directed to Obama’s Web site—where she could buy all the buttons and posters she wanted.

On the Web, a packet of 50 stickers that say “Obama ’08” goes for $5; a yard sign is $8. “Got Hope?” bumper stickers are $3 each, or two for $5.

Walsh found the prices a bit exorbitant her small group.

She said she asked Obama’s campaign worker again if she could get a few items for free. She pointed out that McCain’s camp had agreed to send a box and, well, her 12-member Scout troop runs on a very small budget.

Walsh said the woman at Obama’s headquarters put her on hold. After a few minutes, she returned with the same answer. The woman told her that she sympathized, but the Obama campaign needs every penny it can get, Walsh said.

“She said, ‘We’re up against the machine and we just can’t hand anything out for free,’ ” Walsh said. “She was very nice . . . but I wasn’t getting anything.”

The woman then directed Walsh to another spot on Obama’s Web site where she could print out pages for the girls to color on, she said.

Instead, Walsh e-mailed What’s Your Problem?

“I was very surprised,” Walsh said. “I thought this was a no-brainer. Especially since McCain’s camp responded without a thought.”

How, Walsh wondered, could a campaign that has raised roughly $400 million be so stingy?
Walsh said she was determined to remain impartial. “My whole point was I did get something from McCain. I can’t even hand out the McCain items without something from the Obama side as well,” she said.
The Problem Solver called Obama spokesman Justin DeJong.
Within days, an Obama employee personally delivered Walsh a box of pins, magnets and bracelets with the slogans “Hope” and “Obama.”
DeJong said that whoever took Walsh’s call at the campaign headquarters misspoke.
“Each day, we go out of our way to accommodate requests for signs, stickers and other items,” DeJong said. “We’re unsure who took Ms. Walsh’s call.”
The spokesman said Obama’s Illinois campaign staff has also offered to meet with the Girl Scout troop to talk to them about the importance of the election.
Walsh said she declined the invitation because she would then feel obligated to bring in someone from McCain’s campaign as well. That seemed a tad much for 7-year-olds, she said.
Included with the box of trinkets Obama’s campaign gave Walsh was a letter from Obama wishing the girls good luck working on their “Ms. President” patches.
The woman who delivered the materials to Walsh’s house was extremely nice, Walsh said.
Still, Walsh questioned why Obama’s campaign didn’t just send the materials when she first asked.
“I thought it was a little ridiculous,” Walsh said. “I guess I don’t understand what the problem was.”

It is one thing to have a blog as a private citizen and need to censor spam comments. It is another thing to be a Presidential candidate and not allow the American people to leave a commnet, ask a question, rant or cheer at one of the Candidates sites.
