Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) on Monday will launch a multimedia campaign to draw attention to the involvement of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in the “Keating Five” savings-and-loan scandal of 1989-91, which blemished McCain’s public image and set him on his course as a self-styled reformer.
Retaliating for what it calls McCain’s “guilt-by-association” tactics, the Obama campaign is e-mailing millions of supporters a link to a website, KeatingEconomics.com, which will have a 13-minute documentary on the scandal beginning at noon Eastern time on Monday. The overnight e-mails urge recipients to pass the link on to friends.
The Obama campaign, including its surrogates appearing on radio and television, will argue that the deregulatory fervor that caused massive, cascading savings-and-loan collapses in the late ‘80s was pursued by McCain throughout his career, and helped cause the current credit crisis.
Obama’s offensive comes after McCain’s running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, spent two days telling voters, donors and reporters that Obama showed poor judgment in his relationship with the former radical William Ayers.
McCain’s campaign has vowed to make a major issue of Obama’s Chicago relationships in coming days, with a senior McCain official telling Politico that they are “the vehicle that allows us to question Obama’s truthfulness about his past and his plans for the future.”
The McCain campaign also plans to invoke money launderer Tony Rezko. Officials say they will not bring up Obama’s former minister, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, because McCain has forbade his campaign from using that as an attack. But the officials said outside groups supporting McCain might highlight Wright.
Responding to the Keating blast from the past, a Republican official said the Obama team seemed “frantic” at “the mere mention of the word ‘Ayers.'”

“The fact that the Obama team is recycling this old garbage 24 hours after Bill Ayers entered the race is a testament to how worried the Obama camp is of an unfettered airing of his associations,” the official said. “Obama is a clever enough politician to know that his unexplored relationships with terrorists and felons are a serious liability in a race this close.”

Note, four Democrats and one Republican. In doing so, however, we must also note that Robert Bennett, Chief Counsel to the Democrats during the investigation, said that McCain should not be included in the investigation and that their was not evidence of any wrong doing by Senator McCain.
Robert Bennett, a Washington lawyer and big dem, was the special prosecuter for the Keating scandal. He has many times stated that John McCain should never have been included in the Keating 5. And…he’s said this repeatedly within the past year.
In February this year, on Fox News’ “Hannity and Colmes,” Bennett said

“First, I should tell your listeners I’m a registered Democrat, so I’m not on (McCain’s) side of a lot of issues. But I investigated John McCain for a year and a half, at least, when I was special counsel to the Senate Ethics Committee in the Keating Five. … And if there is one thing I am absolutely confident of, it is John McCain is an honest man. I recommended to the Senate Ethics Committee that he be cut out of the case, that there was no evidence against him.”

Both McCain and John Glenn were held blameless. It was really the “Keating Three”, but the Dem Controlled Senate kept McCain and Glenn involved so it would be “bipartisan” scandal.
John McCain apologized to the country for any sign of impropriety AND he led a number of campaigns to get rid of the same sort of bribes.
In the presidential campaign, McCain had confided that his intervention with bank regulators on Keating’s behalf was the worst mistake of his adult life, one that caused him as much anguish as spending five years in a North Vietnamese prisoner-of-war camp. The Arizona Republican said the incident taught him that “the appearance of impropriety” can be as damaging as actual wrongdoing.
McCain and Glenn drawing the lightest reprimands, only a finding that they had shown poor judgment. McCain also agreed to pay back tens of thousands of dollars in personal and campaign largesse from Keating.
If Obama goes after McCain on this, Obama may end up with egg on his face.
McCain’s life has been pretty much an open book, unlke Obama and all the questions surrounding him including his birth certificate, and does have dual citizenship etc.
McCain himself, through his campaign, made it pretty clear today what he intends to do about this. BRAVO!.

One of the more extraordinary stories of the Obama campaign has been playing out behind the scenes over the past week as the candidate has been working on a daily basis to try to calm things down in his father’s homeland and his grandmother’s home, Kenya, where a contested election has led to riots.
On January 1, 2008 , two days before the Iowa caucuses, Obama left a message for Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. According to Robert Gibbs, Obama’s Communications Director, Rice called back “as we were driving from Sioux City to Council Bluffs on January 1. Kenya’s long democratic journey has at times been difficult. But at critical moments, Kenyans have chosen unity and progress over division and disaster. The way forward is not through violence – it is through democracy, and the rule of law. To all of Kenya’s people, I ask you to renew Kenya’s democratic tradition, and to seek your dreams in peace.”
On January 3, the day of the caucuses, he had a conversation with Bishop Desmond Tutu, who had flown to Nairobi to see if he could begin negotiations with the factions. In the days since his Iowa victory, Obama has had near-daily conversations with the U.S. Ambassador in Kenya or with opposition leader Raila Odinga. Obama is busy right now–but it does seem noteworthy that, in the midst of the most amazing week of his life, Barack Obama has found the time to be so busy trying to reach his cousin Odinga.

Jon Voight has really impressed me with his change in his politics. Jon Voight calls the Mark Levin’s show often. I don’t get a chance to hear the show as much as I used to but when I do, a lot of the time Jon is calling in to his show.

In a surprising move, the California head of NOW introduced Sarah. She announced that she was a life long Dem, which drew boos from the crowd lol. She then gave a gracious and supportive introduction to Gov Palin. Sarah charged the stage with a huge smile and rocked the crowd with plenty of red meat and humor.

Sarah Palin started off with a line I will never forget, she said: I was drinking coffee out of my Starbucks Cup (Crowd Cheering) and on the cup there was a quote it read: “There is a special place reserved in hell for women that dont support other women”! Crowd cheering again, “And you know who the quote is from? She say’s Madeline Albright”! Crowd goes wild. Then she went on the attack and started in on Obama’s connections to Domestic terrorist Bill Ayres and others, Crowd goes wild again.

Sarah Palin told an enthusiastic crowd Saturday afternoon that it was time to “put on the heels and take off the gloves.”
And while she credited the line to a campaign worker, it and the rest of her 24-minute speech at the Home Depot Center rally was delivered like only Sarah can.
“For millions of Californians, this is still Reagan country and we’re here to take it back,” she said.

During her speech there were about five or six Obamabots escorted out by Sheriffs as the crowd chanted USA. Sarah riffed on one, saying something like “we fight for their freedoms as well” Crowd loved it!
Obama cultists protesting the appearance of Sarah yelling ” NO USA! No USA! ” ….. Palin supporters were chanting USA, USA, to whatever the cultists were saying.

Palin praised running mate John McCain and criticized Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama while spelling out the goals of a McCain-Palin administration during her speech before an overflow crowd.
As you saw in my other post, the video, Sarah brought up William Ayers connection to Obama. She said that the Ayers information came from the NY Times .

Home Depot Center officials estimated as many as 20,000 people, jammed into the 8,000-seat capacity facility and an overflow area, attended the rally.

This is when everyone was waiting to get into the arena.

The clouds threatened rain, and a few sprinkles fell while Sarah was talking, but heavier patch of sprinkles waited until after she finished her speech. Overall it was a great environment for the event.

When Sarah was done speaking the crowds rushed the stage, like we have seen before with rock stars. haha They LOVE her!

Saturday’s event was Palin’s first visit to Southern California since McCain named her as his running mate Aug. 29. The Alaska governor said her father was born in Los Angeles and her paternal grandfather was a photographer who lived in North Hollywood.
From Carson, Sarah went on to a fundraising dinner in the Costa Mesa area.

“The ADT Center seats 27,000 for soccer. Even more for Tennis. They rolled out extra stands and made it a very tight fit. If there were less than 30,000 there, I will eat my lap top. THEN, I go looking for my car which if you have ever been to Cal State Dominguez Hills you know there are a million parking lots and ya better write down where you parked if you expect to find it!

Well like an ass I didnt, I was walking and walking and walking again and then I ran into one of the employees for the event and I asked him approximately where I was. He say’s Ma’am you are going to have to step off the road, I said why? What’s going on? He said “Sarah Palin’s motorcade is coming”! I said NO WAY! So I just stood there next to this guy waiting and sure enough here comes her motorcade, I start waving like a lunatic lol and then all the sudden there she was! Not 2 feet from me! She looked at me, smiled and waved at me! AT ME! I was like I dont believe this! She made eye contact with me! And was just as natural as could be!

I was so excited, then I really forgot where my car was and was walking and walking blisters on my feet and all, and then one of those golf cart driving people came up to me and told me to get in and they helped me find my car.

Needless to say every blister on my feet was worth it. What an awesome day! “

Last night Nicholas and I watched “SAVING OUR ECONOMY. WHAT’S NEXT?” on FOX and it was an excellent program!!!!
I urge all to watch it if you have not already. I have looked it up on our TV schedule and it says it will be shown right after the Special by Hannity.
I urge everyone to tape this and make copies, send it to friends and family. There are people that need to go to jail for this. There is one person in particular that cannot win the presidency because of this – that is Obama.
It went all the way back to the depressions New Deal and moved right up to Barney Frank and Dodd. It also linked Obama to the radical group Acorn, Fanny May, and Freddie Mac.
It layed out in great detail how we got into this mess step by step in a timeline format. It named names as to just who benefited and HOW MUCH they benefited. It showed how the Democrats stopped a bill that would have prevented the mess we are in now.

America needs to know which party is truly at the root of this historic economic scandal and which presidential candidate made a career of shaking down banks on behalf of ACORN…and it was not the republicans or John McCain.
After the crash of the stock market, the financial crisis lasted for years. Why, asked David Asman to an expert of this very subject, a woman named Amity Shlaes, wrote a book called “The Forgotten Men”, about the Great Depression that began after the fall of the stock market.
According to her, Roosevelt imposed more and more high taxes on businesses, which, rather than pay the taxes, closed their doors. Thus rampant unemployment at 20% arose and the depression actually went on until 1954.
This is very important to me. Because this is exactly what Barack Obama plans to do, raise taxes on businesses. How many businesses will close their doors this time and unemployment will rise? Will Barack Obama’s plan to raise taxes on businesses cause the next Great Depression?

The conservative Judicial Confirmation Network is running a TV ad tying Obama to not just Rezko, but William Ayers (now using cartoons to spread his ideas) and the bombastic Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

“We don’t know who Barack Obama would choose” as a Supreme Court justice, the ad says, “but we know this. He chose as one of his first financial backers a slumlord now convicted on 16 counts of corruption. Obama chose as an associate a man who helped to bomb the Pentagon and said he ‘didn’t do enough.’ And Obama chose as his pastor a man who has blamed America for the 9/11 attacks.”

Tony Rezko is not your typical middle American.
He’s Antoin Rezko, Muslim from Syria.
It is positively amazing, Guiness World Record worthy to note
How many times Obama’s path has accidentally stumbled upon Muslims.
His father and stepfather.
His half sister Maya , daughter of Lolo Soetoro, Indonesian Muslim.
All his college roommates were Muslims.
Both at Columbia and at Occidental College.
The same group of Muslims shepherded Obama on his grand tour of Pakistan.
His Kenyan relatives and those he campaigned for in Kenya-Raila Odingo.
And his financial patron-Antoin Rezko.
And that’s just the Arab Muslims.
The Black Muslims are another chapter.
As are ACORN and domestic terrorists.

A lot of people are aware of these things and VERY concerned, and for good reason…we had 9-11 because of a series of muslim infiltrations thanks to the likes of Clinton, Gorelick, etc. so it makes perfect sense Obama has been groomed for a takeover from within.
Obama can deny all he wants but the truth exists and the more people that get informed about just the kind of dangerous man Obama is, with criminal friends and terrorists as his associations the better.
