Imagining a President Obama ~ It’s Like a B Movie Horror Flick

Imagining a President Obama
By Salena Zito
PITTSBURGH TRIBUNE-REVIEW
Most Americans wake every morning to news that Barack Obama will win next month’s presidential election. Strategists even say the word “landslide” aloud.
Every poll shows it, every pundit echoes it, and every analyst predicts it — therefore it must be true, right?
Let’s take this political axiom to some of those who do the predicting, to project what America will look like under an Obama administration, governing with a Democrat congressional majority led by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
Beckel says that, in government and politics, the policy pendulum always swings back and forth and, particularly in this economic crisis, “people will want — and Obama will deliver — more government involvement.”
“They feel more comfortable with that than they do with a bunch of people on Wall Street,” he says.
Beckel sees an Obama appointment of Hillary Clinton to the Supreme Court bench as soon as an opening occurs, and he dismisses the massive move toward industry regulations that some people predict.
One insider, who refuses to predict on the record, says privately that Obama will quickly announce his appointments to the Cabinet positions of state, defense, treasury and attorney general. He believes Obama’s Cabinet is shaping up to look like this: retiring U.S. Sen. Chuck Hagel, R-Neb., as defense secretary; Massachusetts Democrat Gov. Deval Patrick as attorney general; New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, a political independent, at treasury; Susan Rice as national security adviser; Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., as secretary of state.
Mark Siegel, a former Democratic National Committee executive director, says Obama will want to make it immediately clear to America and to the world that “there’s a new sheriff in town.” He expects Obama to make that point dramatically by issuing several executive orders.
Siegel says you will see Obama immediately suspend all pending judicial nominations, close Guantanamo, then reassure the world that he will never permit torture.
Also look for a doubling of the Peace Corps, a brand-new Volunteer Youth Network, an expansion of U.S. assistance for “Teach for America,” and a reduction of interest rates on student loans, Siegel predicts.
What a difference four short years makes, says Brian Darling, a congressional analyst for The Heritage Foundation.
Darling predicts Obama’s tax policy will have an immediate effect on small businesses and result in many individuals seeing their marginal tax rate double. Any Supreme Court retirements would dramatically change the direction of American jurisprudence. And he warns that the push for new regulations is the wrong reaction to problems on Wall Street.
“We need more capitalism, not less. Telecommunications has thrived without regulations, and our economy should make sure that politicians in Washington do not try to regulate and tax our way out of the current economic downturn.”
University of Arkansas political scientist Bob Maranto says the Illinois senator is a pragmatist tactically: “Obama knows that if you try to impose things like racial quotas and gay marriage, that would not be a vote-winner. But if you appoint federal judges who impose those policies, you can evade responsibility.”
Maranto suspects those are the judges Obama would appoint.
He warns that Obama is no fool. “Socialism is dead, and Barack Obama knows it,” he explains. “He would, however, favor a very strong government hand in regulating the economy, both because he believes that government knows best and because that means more subsidies and jobs to hand out to supporters, and more votes and PAC contributions to get in return.”
All four men agree that if Obama becomes president with Congress sharing his beliefs, then “change” is definite — but not infinite.
The degree of success or enforcement, they say, depends on how far the press and the next midterm election will allow the new president and Congress to go.

Wild Thing’s comment……….
I really believe Obama Presidency will be a nightmare we need to fight happening. It would hit blogs and conservative forums as some of it’s first targets imo and also conservative talk shows. Welcome to Socialism and communisim Obama style.

Surprise Pumpkin Picker Piper Palin and Sarah Palin At The Way Fruit Farm

Palin mingles with crowd in unexpected visit to Way Fruit Farm
Centre Daily Times
The Way Fruit Farm Fall Festival had a surprise pumpkin picker Saturday: Sarah Palin.
STORMSTOWN
The Way Fruit Farm Fall Festival had a surprise pumpkin picker Saturday: Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
Palin made the unannounced visit with her youngest daughter, Piper, on her way from a rally in Johnstown to the University Park Airport, where her plane was taking off for Philadelphia.
The visit was kept secret until seconds before John McCain’s “Straight Talk Express” bus rolled up and caught festivalgoers completely off guard.

“I saw the bus come up, took a picture of it,” said State College resident Ty Arbutiski, who had come with his wife and kids to the festival. “The kids were still out petting the bunnies. I said, ‘I’m going to go see if they’re stopping,’ ran up here and sure enough they did stop.”

“I yelled to her, ‘She rocks,’ she waved to me and said ‘Thank you,’ and came over and shook my hand. So I’m a happy guy. I may never wash it again.”

Even Way Fruit Farm’s owner, Brooks Way, and the press had little advance notice.
Sarah and Piper Palin spent a few minutes picking pumpkins with Bellefonte Elementary School student Max Theuer, who Palin grabbed from the crowd while greeting people.

“I said, ‘OK, I’ll help,’ ” Max, 9, said. “I just pointed to a pumpkin.”

Max picked out a plump, round pumpkin that Piper apparently wasn’t satisfied with. After Piper whispered to her mother, Palin said: “An even bigger one? Piper!”

They ended up with two pumpkins, one for Piper and one for Max, before Palin greeted some in the crowd and then left.

“She asked, ‘Would you like a pumpkin?’ ” Max said, who added that he “was kind of excited” about the experience.

“We were floored that she was so down to earth,” said Mike Theuer, Max’s father. “She paid literally out of her pocket.”

Palin spent about 15 minutes at the festival before leaving for the airport. She was scheduled to drop the puck Saturday night at the Philadelphia Flyers game.

“I introduced her to my mom and dad,” Brooks Way said. “They are fourth generation farmers. I’m fifth. My daughter Megan is sixth and my grandchildren Emma and Katie are seventh. She was impressed with that.”

Brooks Way said he doesn’t like to be political because that alienates him from 50 percent of people, and didn’t say if he was a McCain-Palin supporter.

“I am a Republican, yes,” he said. “I have not decided. But it’s changing today. Have you noticed, there’s no signs for either candidate. It will stay that way.”

The fall festival takes place every year on the second and third Saturdays of October. And on this beautiful sunny fall day, it drew hundreds of people.

“Go get her, governor!” screamed a man in the crowd. “Hey,” Palin said, then waved. “Thank you.”

One mother of five tracked down an agent to tell him that she has a son with Down syndrome, as does Palin.
Palin spent a few seconds with them and others who snapped pictures and shook her hand.
She didn’t field any questions from the press and didn’t make any public comment. This was just a quick, drop-in visit, staff said.
Local Republicans had been pushing for Palin to make an appearance in Centre County on Saturday.
Friday afternoon, Fox Hill Road leading up to the University Park Airport was lined with “McCain-Palin” yard signs, and one local Republican committee insider said it was unclear how they got there, stirring the rumors of a surprise Palin visit.

“We saw her and were like, ‘Oh my gosh, we love her!’ ” said Brenda Webb, who had arrived at the festival just before Palin.

“We’ve been watching her in the debates and everything,” Webb said.

Her daughter, Moriah, and Moriah’s friend, Ashley Reed, got to see in person the woman they’ve been so excited to watch on television, Webb said. “It’s so exciting for them. They’ve been really interested, so it was great for them to actually meet her.”

Wild Thing’s comment………..
Sarah is such a great mom and so many of the expressions of Piper you can see Sarah in her. They are so much alike it is just adorable.

Barack Hussein Obama Saying Acorn and Friends To Shapre His Pres. Agenda!

Obama at ACORN meeting: “We are going to be calling all of you in to shape the agenda of my presidency.”

And this one too…….
Obama: “An ACORN Doesn’t Fall Far From the Tree”

McCain/Palin new ad ” ACORN”

McCain/Palin Campaign Memo on ACORN
TO: Interested Parties
RE: Barack Obama & ACORN
McCain Palin website
Today, the McCain campaign outlined the intimate and longstanding relationship between Barack Obama and the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now (ACORN). Given ACORN’s recent efforts to engage in voter fraud and to disrupt our political system, Obama’s affiliation with this group raises serious questions about his judgment and ability to lead this nation.
As of today, ACORN is under investigation for fraudulent activities in at least 11 key battleground states and accused of wrongdoing in many others. According to election officials across the country, about 50% of ACORN’s voter registrations are fictitious. This week alone, ACORN offices in Nevada were raided by state officials – after the starting lineup of the Dallas Cowboys appeared registered to vote in Las Vegas – and in Connecticut, a seven-year-old child registered to vote as a 27-year-old.
Below is a brief summary of Obama’s connection to the organization. A diagram of connections outlining Obama’s many ties to ACORN can be found here: http://www.gop.com/ObamaAcornTree .
The relationship between Barack Obama and ACORN dates back to the early 1990s, well before the start of his political career. In 1992, Obama directed Project Vote – an arm of ACORN that also encouraged voter registration. Around the same time, Obama began teaching classes for “Future Leaders Identified by ACORN,” and according to an op-ed at the time, Obama continued his community organizing work largely through these classes.
Obama soon moved on from his role as a community organizer and became a trial attorney for ACORN. In 1995, Obama represented ACORN in a lawsuit against the state of Illinois for its supposed failure to implement a federal law designed to make voter registration easier, and thus increasing the likelihood of voter fraud. Obama also joined two well-known boards with strong ties to ACORN – the Woods Fund and the Joyce Foundation. Under Obama’s watch, the Chicago ACORN branch received thousands of dollars in grants from both organizations.
During this year’s Democrat primaries, Obama’s campaign paid $832,000 to Citizens Services, an ACORN-affiliated organization, for get-out-the-vote efforts. Sensing the need to distance itself from the controversial organization, however, Obama’s Federal Election Commission report mischaracterized this work as “staging and lighting.”
Given his longstanding ties to the organization, it is not surprising that Obama accepted the endorsement of ACORN in 2008. In a press release touting the endorsement on his official campaign website, Obama says: “I’ve been fighting alongside ACORN on issues that you care about my entire career.”
Obama’s subsequent failure to disclose the true nature of his relationship with ACORN, however, is very surprising and deeply troubling. His campaign website, which on one page features the aforementioned quote, claims on another page that Obama has no connection to ACORN. This direct contradiction illustrates Obama’s willingness to distort the true facts and seriously calls his judgment into question.
We are hopeful that three actions come from today’s discussion. First, Barack Obama has to be forthright about his relationship with ACORN. Secondly, given their willingness to compromise the voting process in key battleground states across the country, a thorough investigation of ACORN must be conducted before Election Day. Finally, federal funding of ACORN must cease immediately until the full examination has been completed. American taxpayers should not be funding an organization mired in potentially illegal activities.

.

Wild Thing’s comment…………
Pure communist garbage Obama is doing. ACORN is a really SCARY bunch of loons! Obama is trying to distance himself from ACORN but this puts the bullseye on Obama.

Why is it that DEAD people always vote for Dems? ~ Let’s Ask Obama!!

Obama = ACORN

Ballots cast in Houston using dead voters’ names
Texas Watchdog
Thousands on the rolls after death, creating potential for fraud
Woodwick Street was quiet — with a few residents working in their yards and adding to post-storm brush piles at the curb — when Texas Watchdog visited on a recent Saturday to try to find Harris County voter Linda K. Hill.
“I’m sorry, but she passed on two years ago,” said a mustached man wearing a Dallas Cowboys baseball cap and driving a motorized chair down the street. He was Linda Hill’s husband, Henderson Hill Jr.
Linda Kay Hill, a homemaker and Louisiana native, died Aug. 2, 2006, of a heart attack, her husband recalled, and is buried at Houston Memorial Gardens in Pearland. But Harris County voter records indicate she –- or someone using her identity –- cast a ballot in the November election that year. Linda Hill of Woodwick Street voted in person on Election Day, records show.
She is among the more than 4,000 people whose names are listed both on Harris County’s voter rolls and also in a federal database of death records, a Texas Watchdog analysis has found.
And dozens of those people, like Linda Hill, have apparently cast ballots from beyond the grave, records since 2004 show. One expert says the number of deceased names used to cast ballots may be higher than what Texas Watchdog’s analysis found.
Instances of dead voters’ names being used to cast ballots were most frequent in three elections, the November 2004 general election, the November 2006 general election and the March 2008 Democratic primary, the analysis found.
Less than a month away from an election to decide the highest office in the land, some advocates worry that such errors in the voter records open the door for fraud, compromise the integrity of results and lessen voter confidence in the system.
The findings come as the group ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, has faced scrutiny in multiple states for allegedly improper voter registrations — including players for the Dallas Cowboys, not in the Lone Star State, but in Nevada. The group’s Nevada offices were raided by state officials earlier this week.
That’s as officials in at least six states may have improperly removed tens of thousands of voters from the rolls or prevented them from registering, the New York Times reported Wednesday.
“This is subverting the ballot,” said John Fund, a Wall Street Journal columnist and author of Stealing Elections: How Voter Fraud Threatens Our Democracy. “Just like you counterfeit dollars, we take it seriously, if you counterfeit votes we should take it equally seriously, and we should punish people seriously for trying to subvert democracy.”
And 4,000 voters isn’t chump change, even though the figure is a tiny fraction of Harris County’s 1.9 million registered voters.

And here is another one there are thousands of these stories…………………….
7-YR.-OLD GETS AN ACORN VOTE
NY Post …for complete story.
O’jahnae Smith is ready and registered to vote this November.
There’s only one problem: She’s 7 years old.
The Connecticut girl is 11 years too young – and nobody in her family knows how she ended up on a voter registration form submitted by ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now.
“She’s registered to vote?” said a surprised Jerome Smith, O’jahnae’s teenage brother. “She’s too young to vote.”
But that didn’t stop someone from forging the child’s signature on a voter registration card and giving her a fake birth date that upped her age to 27. The family told The Post a drug-addicted relative may have given the bogus card to ACORN.

Wild Thing’s comment………
It must be end times, the dead are arising from their graves and voting….Zombies like Obama’s health care plan.
I am so sick of all this voter fraud stuff. People are guilty and should be punished.
Democrats are sure like terrorists, they destroy everything they are a part of.
Its called FRAUD. It ILLEGAL and this criminal group , ACORN, is doing it and has been doing it without much problem throughtout the United States on behalf of Obama for months now.
Look at this ………….

ABC Censors Pro-Life Ad Exposing Barack Obama’s Pro-Abortion Record

ABC Censors Pro-Life Ad Exposing Barack Obama’s Pro-Abortion Record
Lifenews.com
by Steven Ertelt
LifeNews.com Editor
October 10, 2008
The ABC television network is coming under fire from a leading pro-life group for censoring a political radio ad that criticizes Barack Obama’s pro-abortion voting record. National Right to Life hoped to run the ad during the nationally syndicated Sean Hannity radio program.
The ad asks Obama when he will apologize for calling the group “liars” for pointing out how he misrepresented his votes in the Illinois legislature against bills that would require medical care for babies who survive failed abortions.
Two nonpartisan groups, FactCheck.org and PolitiFact.com have verified NRLC’s claims as true — leading the pro-life group to produce the ad.
On Friday, NRLC received notice from ABC Radio Network that it would not air the ad during Hannity’s radio program.
In an email to National Right to Life, ABC Radio Network executives claimed the ad, “while supporting aspects of a Pro-Life position, weighs more heavily toward electioneering.”
However, the ad is paid for by the NRLC political action committee, which is allowed to do “electioneering” under federal law.

“ABC’s rejection smacks of being a politically motivated gag order,” NRLC communications director Derrick Jones told LifeNews.com. “It seems that the pro-Obama leanings of the mainstream media have overflowed into their sales departments as well. To reject a political action committee’s ad because they think it is too political, borders on the absurd.”

Jones pointed out that, four years ago, the group ran similar radio ads on the ABC network without any censorship from its executives.

“Four years ago, NRL PAC ran electioneering ads supporting George W. Bush. ABC’s lame excuse this year fails to hide their true motivation of helping Barack Obama conceal his extreme pro-abortion position from the American public,” Jones added.

Douglas Johnson, the legislative director for the group, points to a recent analysis showing the mainstream media have barely touched Barack Obama’s abortion position. He calls the ABC rejection of the ad another part of the media campaign for him.

“The ABC gag rule is part of a broader pattern of behavior in which the mainstream news media filter out or distort the extremes of Obama’s pro-abortion record,” he told LifeNews.com.

He accused the media of not wanting to discuss “his actions to block legislation to protect infants born alive following abortions in Illinois, his commitment to enact the so-called ‘Freedom of Choice Act,’ which would make partial-birth abortion legal again and nullify all parental notification laws, and his support for requiring taxpayer funding of abortion.”

At issue is the bill that Obama opposed that would provide medical care for newborn infants who survive abortions.
Obama says he voted against the bill because it didn’t mirror a national version that had language making it neutral on Roe v. Wade — even though Obama voted for language in committee to make the state legislation conform.
The National Right to Life Committee released documents exposing Obama’s misrepresentation and the pro-abortion presidential candidate later accused the group of “lying” in a terse interview.

“We find that, as the NRLC said in a recent statement, Obama voted in committee against the 2003 state bill that was nearly identical to the federal act he says he would have supported,” FactCheck indicated after reviewing the documents.

ABC – The All-Barack Channel
ABC is making it clear that they have no intention of adhering to the First Amendment of the Constitution. I would feel no remorse an accusing them of thuggery and promotion of communist principles.
And there is also the part Barack Obama worked so hard to protect, the induced labor which forces an alive preemie to be born too soon to survive without heroic medical attention. That wasn’t a bad thing, to Barack Obama.
And Obama sycophants don’t care!

Obama Trying to Be Dictator Of McCain/Palin Rallies As Obama Complains That Iowa Rally Had “partisan prayer”

Obama says John McCain rally in Iowa marked by partisan prayer
LA Times
Rev. Arnold Conrad, in delivering an invocation at a rally today for John McCain in Davenport, Iowa, apparently didn’t get the word from the candidate about elevating the tone at such gatherings.
Conrad, who appeared before the crowd before McCain had arrived, offered a prayer that seemed to urge divine intervention to prevent Barack Obama from winning the presidential election — and cast the outcome as a referendum on differing religions.
The Times’ Maeve Reston was at the event, and she passed along the key passage from Conrad’s words:

“I would also pray Lord that your reputation is involved in all that happens between now and November, because there are millions of people around this world praying to their God — whether it’s Hindu, Buddha, Allah — that his [McCain’s] opponent wins for a variety of reasons.

And Lord I pray that you would guard your own reputation, because they’re going to think that their god is bigger than you, if that happens. So I pray that you would step forward and honor your own name in all that happens between now and Election Day.

Oh Lord, we just commit this time to you, move among us, make your presence very well felt as we are gathered here today in Jesus’s name I pray. “

The crowd greeted the prayer with applause.

Wild Thing’s comment……….
The latest complaint by Obama’s camp against the McCain campaign is that we are waging “partisan” prayer. How horrible of our side to do such a think…….as………Partisan prayer!!!!!!!!
I would not have made the same prayer as this Rev. Conrad with the Allah bit in there etc. hahaha But by golly if it offends Obama to find out about a prayer at the rally then so be it , it works for me. LOL
Conrad, who appeared before the crowd before McCain had arrived, offered a prayer that seemed to urge divine intervention to prevent Barack Obama from winning the presidential election…
I have been praying the same thing.
Why I thoguht Obama was supposed to be a Christian according to him, well there was that one time on This Week the Sunday morning show where he messed up OR was it the truth and he said he was a Muslim.
LOL
What in the heck is next, is Obama going to say we can’t cheer at a rally, or better yet he probably wiill have no rallies allowed at all for his opponent McCain. Obama sure is trying to take control of the McCain/Palin campaign.
He better know if he , Obama wins, there is a traditional President Prayer breakfast and not the kind of place for a Rev. Wright either.
The article does not tell about this from the rally as well……..
When McCain came to hug her ( Sarah Palin ) … he immdiately shook my hand and following his moment with her, I shook his hand as he grabbed my hand, now for the second time, and I said, “God wants you to know that I’m praying for you, Sir!” He thanked me and kept smiling. I repeated that phrase to him five times. He grabbed my hands and looked right into my eyes and said, “I won’t make it without prayer. Sir, Thank You for praying for me, and don’t let one day go by that you don’t pray for me. I need all the prayers that I can get. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!”

General Patton’s Prayer!
Many know the story of General Patton’s prayer for better weather in order to more efficiently kill the Germans in the winter of 1944. Few know of his Christmas Greeting that was issued along with the prayer.
Contrary to popular belief, the prayer was not ordered to be written during the Battle of the Bulge. It was on the 14th of December that General Patton had the famous exchange with Chaplain O’Neill to write a prayer for good weather and to give a copy to each member of the Third Army. The Chaplain mentioned that it’s not a customary practice to pray for clear weather in order to kill fellow men.
Patton’s response was direct, “Chaplain, are you teaching me theology or are you the Chaplain of the Third Army? I want a prayer.”
After working out the logistics, each member of the Third Army (approximately 250,000 at the time) was issued a small card on the 22nd of December, 1944. By this time, the Battle of the Bulge was underway.
On one side of the card was the famous prayer:
Almighty and most merciful Father, we humbly beseech Thee, of Thy great goodness, to restrain these immoderate rains with which we have had to contend. Grant us fair weather for Battle. Graciously hearken to us as soldiers who call upon Thee that, armed with Thy power, we may advance from victory to victory, and crush the oppression and wickedness of our enemies and establish Thy justice among men and nations.
When Patton originally ordered the cards made, some of the General’s men convinced him to include a Christmas greeting for the troops. On the reverse side, the card had a personal message from the General:
To each officer and soldier in the Third United States Army, I wish a Merry Christmas. I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty, and skill in battle. May God’s blessing rest upon each of you on this Christmas Day.
G. S. Patton, Jr.
Lieutenant General

Gov. Palin Calls Out Obama On Abortion

Gov. Palin calls out Obama on Abortion

Sarah Palin thrilled a raucous crowd of supporters Saturday in Johnstown.
Her full speech:
“In this same spirit, as defenders of the culture of life, John McCain and I believe in the goodness and potential of every innocent life. I believe the truest measure of any society is how it treats those who are least able to defend and speak for themselves. And who is more vulnerable, or more innocent, than a child?
When I learned that my son Trig would have special needs, I had to prepare my heart for the challenges to come. At first I was scared, and Todd and I had to ask for strength and understanding. But I can tell you a few things I’ve learned already.
Yes, every innocent life matters. Everyone belongs in the circle of protection. Every child has something to contribute to the world, if we give them that chance. There are the world’s standards of perfection … and then there are God’s, and these are the final measure. Every child is beautiful before God, and dear to Him for their own sake.
As for our beautiful baby boy, for Todd and me, he is only more precious because he is vulnerable. In some ways, I think we stand to learn more from him than he does from us. When we hold Trig and care for him, we don’t feel scared anymore. We feel blessed.
It’s hard to think of many issues that could possibly be more important than who is protected in law and who isn’t – who is granted life and who is denied it. So when our opponent, Senator Obama, speaks about questions of life, I listen very carefully.
I listened when he defended his unconditional support for unlimited abortions. He said that a woman shouldn’t have to be – quote – “punished with a baby.” He said that right here in Johnstown –“punished with a baby” – and it’s about time we called him on it. The more I hear from Senator Obama, the more I understand why he is so vague and evasive on the subject. Americans need to see his record for what it is. It’s not negative or mean-spirited to talk to about his record. Whatever party you belong to, there are facts you need to know.
Senator Obama has voted against bills to end partial-birth abortion. In the Illinois Senate, a bipartisan majority passed legislation against that practice. Senator Obama opposed that bill. He voted against it in committee, and voted “present” on the Senate floor. In that legislature, “present” is how you vote when you’re against something, but don’t want to be held to account.
Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, a Democrat, described partial-birth abortion as “too close to infanticide.” Barack Obama thinks it’s a constitutional right, but he is wrong.
Most troubling, as a state senator, Barack Obama wouldn’t even stand up for the rights of infants born alive during an abortion. These infants – often babies with special needs – are simply left to die.
In 2002, Congress unanimously passed a federal law to require medical care for those babies who survive an abortion. They’re living, breathing babies, but Senator Obama describes them as “pre-viable.” This merciful law was called the Born Alive Infants Protection Act. Illinois had a version of the same law. Obama voted against it.
Asked about this vote, Senator Obama assured a reporter that he’d have voted “yes” on that bill if it had contained language similar to the federal version of the Born Alive Act. There’s just one little problem with that story: the language of both the state and federal bills was identical.
In short, Senator Obama is a politician who has long since left behind even the middle ground on the issue of life. He has sided with those who won’t even protect a child born alive. And this exposes the emptiness of his promises to move beyond the “old politics.”
In both parties, Americans have many concerns to be weighed in the votes they cast on November fourth. In times like these, with wars and a financial crisis, it’s easy to forget even as deep and abiding a concern as the right to life. And it seems our opponent hopes that you will forget. Like so much else in his agenda, he hopes you won’t notice how radical his ideas and record are until it’s too late.
But let there be no misunderstanding about the stakes.
A vote for Barack Obama is a vote for activist courts that will continue to smother the open and democratic debate we need on this issue, at both the state and federal level. A vote for Barack Obama would give the ultimate power over the issue of life to a politician who has never once done anything to protect the unborn. As Senator Obama told Pastor Rick Warren, it’s above his pay grade.
For a candidate who talks so often about “hope,” he offers no hope at all in meeting this great challenge to the conscience of America. There is a growing consensus in our country that we can overcome narrow partisanship on this issue, and bring all the resources of a generous country to the aid of both women in need and the child waiting to be born. We need more of the compassion and idealism that our opponent’s own party, at its best, once stood for. We need the clarity and conviction of leaders like the late Governor Bob Casey.
He represented a humanity that speaks to all of us – no matter what our party, our background, our faith, or our gender. And no matter your position on this sensitive subject, I hope that spirit will guide you on Election Day. I ask you to vote for McCain-Palin on the November fourth, and help us to bring this country together in the rational discussion of compassion and life.”

.

Many ticket holders for the campaign rally were shut out when, just before Palin began to speak, local officials decided that the arena could not safely hold any more people.
It is not clear how many were turned away. One official estimated that as many as 2,000 Palin supporters, some of whom had waited for hours, never got inside.
“I’m sure there were a lot of upset people,” said Pat Lape, Johnstown Fire Department deputy chief. “But we have to do what’s safe for everybody.”
The Palin rally drew a huge response, with residents gobbling up thousands of free tickets in Cambria and surrounding counties. More than 4,700 tickets were distributed in Johnstown alone.
The War Memorial has seating for 4,000, with additional standing room on the floor.
Lape estimated that at least 5,000 witnessed the Palin speech.

Wild Thing’s comment……….
The GOP had better realize they need larger venues for all Palin rallies. People really want to see and hear her. Consistently creating a situation where people are turned away is not good. People drive a long way, walk a long way from their cars and then stand for hours. I sure hope the GOP wises up asap.
