Russell Pearce on Why the 14th Amendment Bars “Anchor Babies”
YouTube quote with video:
AZ Senate Speaker Russell Pearce, co-author of SB1070, discusses why his upcoming legislation banning “birthright citizenship” is supported by the 14th Amendment, its drafters’ intent, and two supreme Court cases prior to Kim Wong Ark. Pearce expresses optimism that the Supreme Court will do the right thing, and restore the original intent that has been corrupted by courts and Administrations for decades to permit a massive stealth amnesty.

Wild Thing’s comment……..
Why oh Why can’t people just read and follow the US Constitution? It’s an amazingly simple document.
This isn’t about “picking on babies” it is about upholding the Constitution.
he has said, “We’ve allowed the hijacking of the 14th Amendment.” He says allowing what are termed “anchor babies” because they make deportation difficult is an incentive to illegal immigration. “They use it as a wedge,” he said. “This is an orchestrated effort by them to come here and have children to gain access to the great welfare state we’ve created.”
Pearce’s argument is that the wording in the amendment that guarantees citizenship to people born in the U.S. who are “subject to the jurisdiction” of this country does not apply to the children of illegal immigrants because such families don’t owe sole allegiance to the U.S.
Many foreign children are born here and live here legally many years, but are not automatically citizens, for example, children of diplomats, entertainers William Shatner(born in Canada) , Michael J. Fox ( born in Canada) , Richard Burton ( Wales) , Bob Hope ( England), athletes, etc.
