BP “excited” about potential of Kevin Costner’s oil cleanup device
NEW YORK, June 16

U.S. actor Kevin Costner has finally scored a hit with BP on the oil cleanup devicehe spent 15 years developing, a statement released by the firm indicates.
Costner, 55, spent weeks calling attention to the high-tech machine developed by his company saying it could help in cleaning up the gulf oil spill, ABC News reported.
After testing the device, BP released a statement saying that it works and company officials are “excited” about its potential.
“We were confident the technology would work but we needed to test it at the extremes,” Doug Suttles, BP’s chief operating officer, said.
Suttles said BP has placed a significant order with Costner’s company, Ocean Therapy Solutions, and will be working with the firm to rapidly deploy 32 of the machines.
The device is a centrifuge that separates spilled oil from water.
Costner spent more than $20 million developing the oil separator that testing indicates leaves water 99 percent free of oil.
Wild Thing’s comment……..
Hope he stays away from Obama or he will only get NO for a reply. At least BP is taking a look at Kevin’s invemtion. It was an article about it in our local paper.
More power to Costner if his device works. That is free enterprise in action. An American trait. Something obama is against.
A clean up vehicle that works is great. But isn’t this putting the horse before the cart. Shouldn’t the main priority be plugging the gusher, first.
Tom, I agree, it is an American trait. I read where Costners parents were conservatives/Republicans and he was one until 1996 when he went Independent. But I don’t rememeber him ever being for Obama ever.
Mark, yes I agree, I wonder too if they could do both at once if they had enough people to do it that way.
