17 More States Planning Ariz. Illegal Crackdown

17 more states planning Ariz. illegal crackdown

In what is developing into a standoff between states and the federal government that could be bigger than gun control or even health care, 17 states have launched versions of Arizona’s immigration law, even as federal officials say they may not bother to process illegal aliens caught by the states.
William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, which has been trying to get officials to address the open southern border for years, warned the consequences could be dire.

“Over the last couple days, Obama and the chief of ICE have refused to honor their oaths of office,” he said. “Their constitutional requirement is to enforce existing laws.

“They’ve told the American public to go eat cake,” he said.

His organization is assembling the list of state efforts to emulate the Arizona law, which makes it illegal under state as well as federal law to be in the state without documentation.
“Seventeen states are now filing versions of Arizona’s SB 1070, which is designed to help local police enforce America’s existing immigration laws,” ALIPAC said in a report today.

The report said numerous national and local polls indicate 60 to 81 percent of Americans support local police enforcing immigration laws.

“Our national network of activists have been working overtime trying to help the state of Arizona and the brave Arizonans who have passed this bill,” he said. “Arizona no longer stands alone and we have now documented state lawmakers filing, or announcing they will file, versions of the Arizona bill in seventeen states! We will not stop until all states are protected from invasion as required by the U.S. Constitution.”

Gheen said the states where some form of immigration crackdown is under development include Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas and Utah

.
President Obama several times has said he doesn’t like the Arizona law. He’s called it misguided and ordered a review by the Justice Department.
John Morton, who heads the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, said his agency might not process illegal aliens caught under state jurisdiction, the Chicago Tribune reported.
He insisted that only the federal government should respond to the problem.
“I don’t think the Arizona law, or laws like it, are the solution,” Morton said.

One blogger expressed concern that “a senior Homeland Security official has openly declared that he won’t be doing his job.”

“Morton has sworn an oath to uphold the laws of the United States. He is not allowed to pick and choose which ones he likes and which he doesn’t.”

Gheen said the Arizona law and the plans it has spawned in other states is a victory for Americans. But he said those are just battles, and winning the war will require success in elections this fall.
A “comprehensive” solution to the problem will arrive when there are enough “hostile” members of Congress to tell the administration to uphold the existing immigration and border laws or the impeachments will start, he said.
“[We need to send] to Washington a hostile Congress that is going to encircle the executive branch and tell them to [follow the law] or we’ll impeach all the way down to the speaker of the House,” he said.
Gheen said he is alarmed over the pending release, expected sometime just before the election, of a movie called “Machete,” which reportedly is the story of a Mexican uprising in the United States.
Gheen said the message in the movie reportedly is that Americans will either submit to the “rape” of their land or else.
He said he believes the project is intended to create turmoil just as the mid-term elections draw near.
“There is nothing as important right now as getting [people] fully involved with all the campaigns,” he said.
ALIPAC already has helped to pass some form of immigration enforcement legislation in more than 30 states. And Gheen has developed a national reputation for defeating socially progressive plans to hand out licenses, in-state tuition and other taxpayer benefits to illegal aliens.

“It is incumbent upon our states to protect American lives, property, jobs, wages, security, and health, when the executive branch fails to honor its constitutional responsibility to do so by enforcing our existing border and immigration laws,” he said.

The Arizona law, which strictly prohibits racial profiling, empowers local police to enforce immigration laws.
To monitor the growing number of states considering similar legislation, ALIPAC utilizes a public forum in which members can update the organization with news articles and other information from states where the push for an Arizona-like law is making headway.
In Arizona’s neighboring state Utah, for example, Rep. Stephen Sandstrom, R-Orem, reportedly is drafting a bill that would similarly require immigrants to carry proof of status and require law enforcement officers to check for it.

“Utah is seen as state that welcomes illegal immigrants. We almost encourage it with driving privilege cards and in-state tuition for illegals,” Sandstrom told the Salt Lake Tribune. “With Arizona making the first step in this direction, Utah needs to pass a similar law or we will see a huge influx of illegals. The real issue is just establishing a rule of law in our state.”

Across the country in Maryland, Baltimore’s WBAL-TV reported earlier that State Delegate Patrick McDonough, R-Baltimore County, is drafting a bill identical to Arizona’s. He’s also planning to poll his fellow legislators before the bill is filed.

This is a good write up about this as well…………..
Free Passes From The PC In DC
By Dr. Alan Bates, MD.
During last year’s national elections, two members of the New Black Panthers—a black supremacist group—intimidated Philadelphia voters at a polling site. One was recorded on video wielding a billyclub. This week however, Eric Holder announced that the Justice Department had decided not to prosecute these criminals because ‘there was not enough evidence to prosecute them’. Free pass to armed criminals at polling places as long as they are not white males.
In Washington, DC hundreds of ranting chanting SEIU protesters invaded private property, surrounding the home of a Bank of America lawyer whose young son was the only one home at the time. The young boy hid in a closet and called police. The DC police response? None—they were ‘afraid of inciting some protesters to violence.’ Free pass to group protesters who trespass on private property because the police are afraid to enforce the law against the Administration’s partners in crime.
John Morton, assistant secretary of Homeland Security for U.S. Immigration
and Customs Enforcement, announced that he would not necessarily cooperate with Arizona law enforcement with respect to processing detained illegal immigrants. Free pass by the Obama administration to criminal violators of America’s illegal immigration laws. This, by the way, is a violation of law by Obama and ICE who are sworn by oath to enforce existing laws.
Mexican President Calderon, who cannot contain the widespread violence in his own country and whose own laws deal harshly with illegal immigrants into Mexico, drank Obama Kool-Aid and insulted Americans by criticizing Arizona’s new law dealing with illegal immigrants which he claims, like Obama, will result in discrimination. Further he suggested our government reinstate the automatic weapons band which expired in 2004 which he claims coincided with a sudden rise in drug cartel violence in Mexico.
Calderon says weapons confiscated in Mexico are mostly American-made, thus blaming America as the main source of firearms used by drug cartels to murder innocent citizens as well as Mexican government and police officials. Multiple free passes to Mr. Calderon, who it appears was coached by Mr. Obama as to what he should say to Congress and the American people—think amnesty and gun control (criminals win with both don’t they?).
Mr. Calderon’s government will jail any illegal immigrant for a minimum of two years—he gives no free passes. He misrepresents the source of firearms in Mexico and the fact that firearms are not the cause of violence—criminals are. The bigger picture is that Mr. Calderon has no business exporting his hypocrisy to America and is not welcome here.
On Sunrise Rock in the Mohave National Reserve in California, a new memorial cross which appeared in place of the stolen one honoring WWI vets was removed by the National Park Service which indicated that memorials cannot be erected in national parks. The original cross was stolen after ACLU lost their case before the Supreme Court in which they claimed it was a religious symbol on public land.
The Court ruled the cross could stay while the property was in transfer to a private owner. However, since it was stolen and since the property transfer has not been completed, the memorial for war dead cannot be replaced at this time. What about Arlington Cemetery where 300,000 dead are interred with numerous headstones consisting of crosses? What is the difference? Free pass to ACLU and those PC cowards who desecrated a symbol in honor of our military veterans. What is their next religious target? The headstone crosses in Arlington Cemetery?
Free passes are handed out almost daily by the PC police who have one goal—destruction of everything America stands for. The Constitution is being systematically trampled through deceit. That is a crime under the Constitution and should be prosecuted as such. Short of that unlikely occurrence, WE THE PEOPLE must give Obama and his radical anti-American ideologues a free pass in November—out of DC.

Wild Thing’s comment…….
GOOD! Interesting how the number of states defying Obama on immigration reform is steadily approaching the number defying him on health care reform.
Those who refuse to uphold the law are breaking the law,Obama and the chief of ICE have refused to honor their oaths of office.
I wish Florida was on that list, but Crist would never allow it and sadly Rubio has been saying he is not in favor of the AZ. bill……very disspponiting. Rubio is so good on everything else except this. augh!!!

….Thank you Mark for sending this to me.

You will note that California, Oregon, Washington Colorado and New Mexico are not on the list. They never will be either.
The reason Democrat controlled legislatures.
California is going bankrupt, but the Governator and the legislature, refuse to cut out or even cut back on the funding of medical care, education and other welfare services nows given to the Illegals, as soon as they arrive.
They also refuse to crack down on buisnesses, what few that are left, who knowingly employ them
Political Correctness trumps all, here in the Golden State.

Mark says:

Maybe when more states pass a similar law these Mexicans will get the message and stay home or decide to leave.
A Mexican uprising,…Ok, Cowboys and Mexicans already did that once or twice but what the hay it a new century and those little brown ‘fellers’ seem to have a version of history that doesn’t square with ours and their memory is short. So bring it on.

Still can’t wait for Tuesday, November 2, 2010!
Hasta la vista to the reps that are not for WE THE PEOPLE!!

Avitar says:

Does anyone know the current call for a constitutional convention?
We may have to call one to authorize the states to remove feds who are not doing their jobs.

Wild Thing says:

Sean, I agree, those States won’t join in.
Mark, I bet if they did decide to leave, obama would beg them to stay and offer them more special treats.
Darth, DITTO that!
Avitar, I have no idea, good question though.

Rwolf says:

Next time an illegal immigrant murders a lawful America on Arizona soil, Arizonans should have a huge “Funeral March” with thousands of Arizonans protesting Obama’s refusal to fully enforce federal illegal immigration laws. Arizonans might carry a coffin in the “March” to represent Arizona’s latest victim of illegal immigrant crime. A large Arizona “Funeral/Protest March” against illegal immigration would be televised globally. Videos of the “Funeral March” might also be televised by candidates nationally when addressing, State concerns that relate to illegal immigration.
