A Marine was attending a college course between missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. The professor, an avowed atheist, shocked the Class one day when he walked in, looked toward the ceiling, and said loudly,
“God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I’ll give you exactly 15 minutes.”
The lecture room fell silent and the professor began his lecture. Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed,
“Here I am God – still waiting.”
It got down to the last minute when the Marine stood up, walked toward the professor and threw his best punch knocking him off the platform and out cold. The Marine went back to his seat and sat down. The other students were shocked and stunned and sat there looking on in silence.
The professor came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked,“What the hell is the matter with you? Why did you do that?”
The Marine calmly replied,
“God is busy today protecting America’s soldiers who are protecting your right to behave like an idiot and say stupid stuff. So He sent me.”
Thank you Jack (Conservative Insurgents) I LOVE this!
Mornin’ WT, glad you like it. Hope you all weather that storm safely.
I’ve heard told of one story, supposedly true, where two guys got into it over the bible. The one dude yelled at the other, “prove to me that one thing in the bible is true”. He kept saying that their was no biblical truth that could be proven to him, right now. The other fellow, the one who believed the bible, suddenly punched the non-believer in the nose. While trying to stop the flow of blood from his nose, the guy yelled at the man, asking why he did that. The believer than opened his bible and showed the man Proverbs 30:33 — Surely the churning of milk bringeth forth butter, and the wringing of the nose bringeth forth blood: so the forcing of wrath bringeth forth strife.
That wasn’t the type of proof the man wanted but it was a biblical truth.
True or not, This is great.
HI Jack, all is well here in Sarasota. We have had constant rain since midnight last night. So I have all the candles burning it makes it romantic. haha
Bob hahaha I love that one too. Thank you.
HI DE644 I know what you mean, it is good true or not. heh heh
COOL!
I was living in Tampa when Camille ran by offshore in the Gulf. My wife and I drove over to Treasure Island across the bridge at the peak; our VW was nearly blown off the bridge.
On the way back, came across Gandy and down Bayshore and the car floated as we approached Davis Island. Young and stupid. Things were different then. A couple weeks later we went up to Biloxi and Pass Christian and learned something about being out in Hurricanes.
Damn, clicked on the wrong thread. That 1969 storm really messed up my brain.
I wish we had one of those marines for every idiot on a soapbox. But they are buzy too.
Rhod that would be scary, a helpless feeling with the car floating. Yikes
Sierrahome it sure is cool, I love it too.
Jane I know what you mean it sure would be.
