The new Mustang GT continues Fords powertrain offensive with an all-new 5.0-liter V-8, which uses advanced technology to deliver 412 horsepower and projected unsurpassed highway mileage of 25 mpg.
Wild Thing’s comment…….
Obama will prolly throw a conniption fit every time they sell one. I hope he has lots of conniption fits.
The best place for that car is in my garage.
I’ll take two! If only I could be 25 again.
Love it Chrissie, I got to tune up a friends Shelby Mustang, one day and took it for a test spin afterward, at 135 I backed it down I’d frightened myself, under the hood was a 428 cubic-inch engine. It was a difficult car to service but a kick to drive. I agree Tom, one for me and the other one for me.
I LIKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All that go and 25 MPG to boot!
If I had the bucks, I would have one.
Just my devious mind wandering but…
They’re not telling us something here. It sounds great but 412 Hp and still 25mph. Regardless of the technology there is only so much energy in a gallon of gasoline. At 400 hp I am assuming this Mustang really flys. It takes energy to do that. If they beef up all the suspension, drive train , transmission, Rear end and engine that means more weight, using more energy just to move it. You can’t put a 412hp engine in a Pinto and expect that kind of performance. The torque at 400 hp is humongous everything has to work like a swiss watch otherwise you leave parts all over the road. Drive shafts twists like a pretzel and rear ends have been known to be left at the starting line.
So where’s the trade off. Keep your foot out of the carburetor and you get 25mph or some type of hybrid. But that makes no sense.
I don’t doubt it but I am skeptical about this new technology. They are claiming they’ve conquered the best of both worlds.
Thanks everyone, and thanks Mark for the input too.
