“Code Red” Rally at the Capitol ~ Speaking Out Against Obama’s Socialized Medicine

“Code Red” Rally at the Capitol
The rally in Upper Senate Park across from the Capitol kicked of the day’s activities as featured speakers including FreedomWorks Chairman Dick Armey, conservative talk show host Laura Ingram, and Senators Tom Coburn (R-OK) and Jim DeMint (R-SC) addressed the crowd of literally thousands of concerned Americans who had once again made the trip to Capitol Hill to voice their concerns regarding the current Senate health care bill.
After the rally, FreedomWorks helped to organize lobbying teams by state to descend upon Senate offices, where activists are committing to politely, but resolutely, “sit in” until they are permitted to speak to their Senators face-to-face and relay their grave concerns over health care legislation that continues to inch closer to passage.

Code Red Rally “Kill the Health Care Bill

Michelle Bachmann said the bill actually contains a MARRIAGE PENALTY, among other despicable clauses!

Politico
Clad in red and armed with Grinch dolls, grim reaper scarecrows, posters and their loud voices, several thousand

tea party protesters rallied near the Capitol Tuesday to send a single message: “Kill the Bill.”

The crowd’s message and energy was only intensified by the encouragement of some of the nation’s best known conservatives, including Sens. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), Richard Burr (R-N.C.), Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.), former House Majority Leader Dick Armey (R-Texas) and radio personality Laura Ingraham.

“I’ve never seen so many attractive domestic terrorists in all my life!” Armey yelled at the adoring crowd. “It’s so nice to be here again together, isn’t it?…You mean you actually came to town on your own terms? To say what you wanted to say? And to be heard? Sounds pretty much like terrorists to me.”

The crowd was most excited, however, by an unscheduled appearance by Bachmann, who organized the most recent major tea party protest, a “House Call” on Washington Nov. 6.

“You came before, you came again, I guess they must be deaf. They can’t hear you!” Bachmann screamed over the cheers. “We’re not leaving until you understand that no means no. What part of no don’t you people understand?”

The congresswoman, who has emerged as a conservative icon, led the crowd in chants of “Kill the Bill,” before suggesting President Barack Obama, Senate Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on their lack of knowledge of the U.S. Constitution.

“Maybe they need a course in remedial reading to find out what’s in our Constitution,” Bachmann said, suggesting the tea party movement could teach them.

As the rally broke, the protesters were encouraged to visit their senators’ offices, even though Senate Democrats were caucusing with the president at the White House. And, in short order, there were lines to get into several Senate office buildings.

Wild Thing’s comment………..
It was estimated around 2,000, possible 2,500 counting those milling around the edges. Buses from northern Maryland and North Carolina accounted for about 900 alone. Apparently a bus came up from Texas.
But there is this that I got in my email from a friend that lives in Maryland.

“I was over on the corner of the Russell bldg and talked with many groups that came by there as I greeted them. Yes, a number from Texas, but there were 23 buses from NJ, I’m not sure how many buses from PA but a number. I spoke with groups here from OH, WVA, GA, KY, VA ,PA and NC. I stayed over at the Russell during the Rally. During the Rally they were still arriving. Many of the Code Red were skipping the Rally to get into the Senate offices. Remember the crowds at WR on 9/11 of 800 and 11/7 at the Steve King press rally of 2-2.5 K. This crowd I have seen estimated greater than 6,000. My estimate is 10-12 K.”

….Thank you Mark.

Mark says:

Laura Ingraham is a terric speaker(and NO Teleprompter), she should be at every rally. She really got everybody fired up. She focused on the problem and went after the arrogant democrats. With the way Washington is heading it should be easy to maintain this anger til November.
Laura was on O’reilly last night. O’reilly had been invited to the White House Christmas party, the Night Before, and was all aglow with wondrous reports of how nice and pleasant they were to him. ( Could it be Bill, You were being USED…Naww…not obama) First O’reilly is a phony, he talks a good game but I think, he is really a closet liberal. Oreilly is always ready to give obama a pass on whatever he does and doesn’t look at what he does.
Then Second, during their discussion about Health Care, he accused Laura of ‘drinking the Koolade’ of the Right wing, in other words Laura doesn’t have a mind of her own but just follows RNC marching orders. I have no idea what side orielly’s on. (BUT HE SURE AS HELL AINT LOOKIN OUT FOR ANYONE BUT O’REILLY) During the campaign O’reilly would say he was tired of McCain using the phrase “My Friends”, Yet this condescending SOB calls “us” the Folks. Talk about a condescending bastard.

TomR says:

If somehow we can stop this obama medical plan from becoming law we will have won a very important victory. Most of us cannot get to the rallies, but we can vote. I am getting impatient for next November.
I can’t take two minutes of O’Reilly. He is as much a narcissist as obama.

TexasFred says:

A POTUS that over 50% of America HATES, a Senate that 70% of America HATES and they are trying to force Americans to accept a healthcare plan that no one in their RIGHT minds could ever accept!
The Obamanation at it’s very best!

Ron Russell says:

I saw this video earlier today–great video at a great rally. Wish I was able to make it to some of these happenings for they are truely that. Laura and Michelle B. are both top-of-the-line conservatives and great spokeswomen for the cause.

Wild Thing says:

I agree so much about O’Reilly. The last
two years he has really shown the true side
of what he is.
And also I agree about Laura Ingraham. I love
the way she speaks out and right on target.
Jack, thank you for the link.
Ron, that is great, I agree, Michele Bachmann is
awesome too.She has really spoken up big time.
