Huckabee on Palin: ‘She has a very different political direction than I do’
The Hill
Former Gov. Mike Huckabee (R-Ark.) on Wednesday sought to put distance between former Gov. Sarah Palin (R-Alaska) and himself.
Huckabee, in an interview with Christianity Today, stressed that the two potential 2012 presidential candidates have different “political direction[s]” and questioned both of their statuses as presidential contenders.
“We’re both Republican, we’re both pro-life—there are a lot of similarities that way—but she has a very different political direction than I do,” he said. ” I’m not sure of her future politically, and I’m really not sure of mine either.”
Wild Thing’s comment……..
Yes, a VERY different political direction. Sarah Palini is a Conservative, and you’re an idiot. Huckabee is headed into obscurity. Earth to Huck…. you dont have a political future now go away.
Huckabee sent out millions of robocalls in the southern states accusing Fred Thompson of being pro-abortion. That was what killed Fred, since his best bet, after the opening primaries stacked in liberal crossover states, was to do well in the South.
And, in making those calls, Huckabee flat out lied about Fred. But it was too late to undo the damage.
My. God. Reacting to a letter from a public official about a very serious matter with sarcasm?
The man is not fit to be President. Most of us conservatives figured that out last year.
This letter is from 2004, and is generally directed at Gov. Huckabee for his clemency actions, and to the effects of these actions specifically to the county where Mr. Hirschfeld is/was the prosecutor. The letter from Hirschfeld seems sincere, and the reaction to it is obviously out of bounds by the Governor and his office.
Huckabee “Laughed Out Loud” at Prosecutors Objections To Clemency
NY Times
In 2000, Mike Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas, commuted the sentence of Maurice Clemmons. Clemmons had been convicted in Arkansas for a series of burglaries and robberies that began in 1989, and would not have been eligible for parole until 2021. But Mr. Huckabee, who as governor granted more than 1,000 pardon or clemency requests, made him eligible for immediate parole.

There is a dark side to Huckleberry. He is a “moderate” and just like a liberal he belives that he is what he is because his IQ is 15-20 points higher than that of a conservative. He is the classic “reconstructed” Southerner. But he is steeped in the tradition of Arkanas dirty politics that gave us the Clintons. But that’s o.k.. We great unwashed need to be “clensed” by the great Huckleberry who was sent to save us from ourselves. I smell a RINO with just a whiff of Clinton(s) and yes, a hint of the Obamamessiah.
Spot on , Willy.
There is a huge difference between Huckleberry and Sarah Palin, she actually believes what she says, she is 100 % American conservative, she walks the walk and talks the talk. She also believes in Justice and I seriously doubt she would be swayed by political pressure to commute the sentence of a man who was convicted of 5 felonies and serving a sentence of 105 years.
Four cops would still be alive and that waste of life would still be in prison. Huckleberry’s buddy O’reilly is still trying to ‘tar and feather’ two Washington Judges and blame them for the murders, but the bottom line is that jerk would still be behind bars, in Arkansas, if Huckleberry had done his job and not SIGNED the sentence Commutation Order.
Sarah Palin in 2012…
WOW, a real professional letter from the governors deputy legal council. People are dead because Huckabee rubber stamped the boards recommendation.
I have been turned off by Mike Huckabee ever since he came on the national scene. He appeared to have a layer of slime about him. He may be a Baptist preacher, but a lot of them are like Jim and Tammy Baker. They aren’t really very god-fearing. More like money and fame loving.
Huckabee’s splitting of votes guaranteeing John McCain’s nomination really irked me. Now, this revelation about granting clemency to criminals right and left really gets my goad. Hopefully the killing of the four LEOs by a Huckabee clemency approved career crminal will prevent Huckabee from getting into the 2012 presidential race.
I don’t think anyone here has taken on a task they didn’t fully support that they didn’t give an objective effort. That’s what you do when it is for the good of the country and it goes against your own personal interests. The difference between Huckabee and Palin is the fact that Huckabee is in the game to impose his beliefs upon the population via his narrow purview, whereas Palin is taking in the broader spectrum and working to unleash the bonds of predecessors like Huckabee. We have seen Huckabee before, he has manifested himself as Pat Robertson, as Jesse Jackson, as Al Sharpton, doodlebugging behind the reversed collar of the cleric all the while pretending to be something he is not. That is a Conservative!!!
Enough of the quasi clerics, they are no better than muzzie clerics in their control methods, it’s the extremes that have destroyed the GOP, people want to live their lives free to worship, to work, to save for theirs and their children’s futures and do it all in a safe and secure environment. The problem is all the above compassionate leaders are willing to let you and I die for their ideals yet not one of them will step up to the plate to reciprocate, they’ll whip that frigging collar around and preach the gospel but damn you for defending yourself and your family. Don’ be pissing on my leg Huckster and telling me it’s raining. Screw that self-righteous bastard.
Thank you all so much.
Good one Willy!
Mark, I agree, it is a huge difference.
Tom, yes I felt the same way during the
campaign last year.
Jack,well said!!!
