Obama: “I may be skinny but I’m tough”

MIAMI
Barack Obama had a message for his political friends and foes on Monday — “just because I’m skinny doesn’t mean I’m not tough.”
Obama was in Miami raising $1.5 million for Democratic congressional candidates for the 2010 elections, in which Democrats are seeking to hold onto their strong majorities in the House of Representatives and the Senate.
After weeks in which he has been angrily criticized by some on the right, to the point of creating a poster image of him with a Hitler mustache, Obama told a fund-raising event that some of his supporters have been expressing concern to him.
“I’ve tried to explain … just because I’m skinny doesn’t mean I’m not tough. I don’t rattle. I’m not going to shrink back, because now is the time for us to continue to push and follow through on those things that we know have to be done but have not been done in decades,” he said.
And he had tough words for those Republican critics who he says are not helping solve some of the problems that festered when they were in control of the White House and Congress.
“Lately I feel like somebody made a big mess and I’ve got my mop and I’m mopping the floor and the folks who made the mess are there (saying) ‘you’re not mopping fast enough. You’re not mopping the right way. It’s a socialist mop.'”
The president also used speeches at two Miami political events to contest the notion circulated by some political commentators and Republican critics that he has little show in the way of accomplishments during his nine months in office.
He reeled off a string of legislative achievements, starting with the $787 billion economic stimulus he credited with helping stop the bleeding in the U.S. economy. Republicans, on the other hand, contend the spending has done little to restrain the 9.8 percent U.S. jobless rate.
Among other items Obama listed: Lifting the Bush ban on using federal funds for stem cell research, signing legislation to ensure women gain equal pay as men for the same work, banning housing fraud, toughening credit card regulations and bringing the country close to a massive healthcare overhaul.
Abroad, Obama said he had put the United States on a path to getting U.S. troops out of Iraq and is working on a new strategy for Afghanistan.
“Here’s my main message to you. We’re just getting started,” he said.
Wild Thing’s comment……..
“I may be skinny but I’m tough”
Translation: Skinny, long-legged mack-daddy in mom jeans with a limp wrist, macho challenged tough.
Big talk from the guy who whines over jokes about his ears, his middle name, and put up a website about being picked on.
Hey punk Obama, tough guys don’t have to remind people how tough they are. Pathetic!
Ok Obama leave the Secret Service at home then.
Just say the word ‘FOX’ and he’ll start screaming like a little girl. And if Barack was half the man Michelle is he would have a foreign policy, and know what he wants to do with Afghanistan.
Saw a side shot of Michelle getting off ‘Obama One’ at Andrews AFB… She’s putting on the weight in a kangaroo pouch area… God I miss classy First Lady Laura Welch Bush! And Barbara Bush too!! Read this over a few times for the GOOD ole times!
Yeah Real Tough….NOT.
Look at him cringe in that picture. Probably thinking,”oh my,that must hurt terribly”, or something to that effect.
You’re right, those that are tough don’t need to talk about it. Observe any Marine, Navy Seal, or Special Forces member. They project toughness, but they don’t flaunt it.
Reminds me of the old saying, “Those that do, don’t talk, those that talk don’t do”.
Tough guys don’t need teleprompters either.
George W Bush was slammed on a daily basis by the media and Democrats. He never cracked. He cowboyed up and took the ridicule without the obama type whining. Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan took more than their share of verbal attacks and also manned up. obama is a pussy. He has been elevated to the level of a god and believes he is one. The MSM has been very kind and supportive of him and he thinks that he should always receive praise from everyone. He is about to find out that his shit does stink.
Tough guys don’t have to announce how tough they are either. I’ll stick with my big burly blue collar boy thank you very much. There’s just something about a man who is confident in himself not to brag too much. And strong arms are always better than spaghetti arms.
Obama is such a wimpy-wimpy-wimpy.
Looks like he’s hiding behind the skank!!!
What little sanity I have left is saved from these fools by recalling stories my father told in his last days as we watched World Series games together. They were stories from Utah Beach to the Huertgen Forest. His younger brother didn’t come back to tell any stories. He went to the bottom of the Java Sea in February 1942, 21 years old, on the USS Houston. I only barely remember him but I do remember him. The Houston had more and bigger guns than the destroyer escort Samuel B. Roberts of Taffy 3, with only two five inch guns and three Mark-15 torpedoes, which nonetheless attacked the heavy cruiser Chokai, sixty-five years ago this week. Wikipedia has the story and it has raised my morale as only my father’s incredible stories of the battles on the French-German line could. In December I will remember my Dad getting blown out of a foxhole near Aachen and being sent home to a hospital in Dallas. He carried some of the shrapnel ’till he died 51 years later.
Sorry for taking up so much space. Yeah, I can still shoot. Bring ’em on.

Wild Thing you just put it perfect. Long-legged mack daddy and whimp-in-chief.
Obama still has to blame others. One of these days he may grow up and become a man and take on the challenges of a man.
Speaking of Bush, my step-son got to hear him speak in Fort Worth yesterday. He said Bush was a good speaker and a very humble man. He took a lot of time talking to folks, signing autographs, and making himself available. He also said Colon Powell was there and was a very good speaker too but Powell wouldn’t sign autographs or talk with people; very standoffish, arrogant.
Darth, I miss her too, she has a sweetness
about her and a calming effect. Michelle
I feel such anger from her and a real
