The Ultimate Squirrel Proof Bird Feeder

.

Wild Thing’s comment………
LOL My Dad would have loved a bird feeder like this. He always tried to feed
both the birds and the squirrel’s year round. But the cute little squirrel’s would eat their good and then go try to party with the birds food too. haha
This squirrel is so cute and the sound effects are perfect. giggle

Odds are, somewhere some squirrel will figure it out.

Mark says:

The first one we saw was right down the road from Chancellorsville in Virginia. This thing looks like it should work well even with the most acrobatic squirrel. But the pirce is/was $130 dollars for one feeder. Sort of pricey if you ask me for one Birdfeeder.
My neighbor has tried everything from greasing the pole to Rat guard above and below the feeder and nothing works. We finally tried fishing line so far that seems to work ok. The line is too small for the squireels to shinny down the line.
Living in the Boonies is challanging all right.

Jack says:

I’ve got a roofed bird feeder, atop a metal sheathed post, the vacant dog run is fenced, they get atop the dog house then jump to an adjacent pole then the next 4 or 5 feet to the roof of the feeder. Sometimes it’s a mighty leap from the top fence wire rocking back and forth for balance, on one of their perches I placed a 2″ PVC pipe that rolls when they jump on it, never a dull moment out there. Five beautiful Greys and two of the denser inbred local deathwish tree rats, that go out of their way to gnaw on my trashcan lids.

Wild Thing says:

Tom, giggle you are so right. They are
very smart.

Wild Thing says:

Mark, yeow expensive.
Fishing line is a good idea, I would not
have thought of that.

Wild Thing says:

Jack, they don’t give up easily. We have
very friendly squirrels in our yard,
they almost come up to us.
