NEW YORK
CNN is marking President Barack Obama’s 100th day in office with prime-time coverage that will recall last year’s primary and general election nights, right down to John King’s magic wall.
The network says it will compile a national report card of Obama’s performance, using opinion polls and a series of viewer surveys.
The big night is April 29, a week from this Wednesday, pre-empting regular programming.
Most of the anchors and commentators who were CNN regulars on political nights last year will appear.
“This is the perfect day to have commentary about how the president is doing and the perfect day to ask the public how they think the president is doing,” said Sam Feist, CNN’s political director. He’s been planning the 100th and 200th day specials since shortly after the election.
The 100-day marker is a journalistic contrivance often used to evaluate new administrations. CNN is giving extra importance to this one because of the two wars and economic meltdown.
ABC News is planning to mark the day with reporting on “Good Morning America,” “World News” and “Nightline,” a spokeswoman said. Other television networks haven’t made their plans clear.
CNN will review actions taken by the Obama administration and give viewers a chance to grade him, the Cabinet and Congress, Feist said.
“It’s going to have the energy and excitement of an election night,” Feist said.
King, who used a giant touchscreen during the election to keep track of polling data, will use it again to show where money is going from the economic stimulus plan, he said. Bill Schneider will review polling data. Wolf Blitzer, Anderson Cooper and Soledad O’Brien will join King as the network’s on-air leaders.
CNN won a Peabody Award for its primary and debate night coverage last year and, given consistently high ratings for these political nights, would love an encore. Prime-time has also been a weakness for the network, as CNN finished third in prime-time viewers behind Fox News Channel and MSNBC for the first time ever during the first quarter of the year.

Exclusive: Bill Ayers Talks About Election Night in Grant Park
[Obama win brings commie Ayers to tears!]
From NBC Chicago, Jan 21, 2009:
Bill Ayers was “overflowing with happiness, relief, love” when he and his wife went to Grant Park with tens of thousands of Chicagoans to celebrate the election of President Barack Obama.
Ayers and his wife, Bernardine Dohrn, spoke exclusively with NBC Chicago’s Dick Johnson about why they joined the Election Night celebration in the park, where 40 years before they helped stage the Days of Rage riots.
The couple said they got last-minute tickets from a friend to be in Grant Park that night.
” I couldn’t stop crying a couple of times. I found the exact spot where I was beaten 40 years ago,” Ayers said. “But I’ve never been in a crowd that large that wasn’t edged with either anger or drunkenness or gluttony, and it was really an extraordinary feeling.”

“Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, kill your parents, that’s where it’s really at”

“As a gesture of solidarity, the Vietnamese who [Bernardine] Dohrn met in Budapest presented her with a ring made from an American aircraft shot down over North Vietnam. Bill Ayers would receive a similar ring while meeting with Vietnamese communists in Toronto. He later recalled being so moved by the gesture that he ‘left the room to cry.’ He said, ‘
“The Communist Party USA views the 2008 elections as a tremendous opportunity to defeat the policies of the right-wing Republicans and to move our country in a new progressive direction.
The record turnout in the Democratic Presidential primary races shows that millions of voters, including millions of new voters, are using this election to bring about real change. We wholeheartedly agree with them.”

A Landslide Mandate For Change
Congratulations on an extraordinary history making election!
We can think back with pride to decades of hard work toward our strategic goal of a big enough, broad enough and united enough labor and all-people’s movement that could overcome the ultra-right blockage to all progress. That all people’s movement has come to life, it is dynamic and it has the potential to keep growing.
The election of Barack Obama and a strengthened Congress creates new conditions in our country. There is now the possibility to shift gears and move forward. This new day requires us to further develop our tactics in order to continue to deepen and broaden labor and people’s unity.
There are thousands of experiences that we all have had in these momentous days, some large, some small, all of which express the enormity of change in thinking and readiness for involvement that is underway and that steels us for the battles ahead.
The tears of joy we all shared as crowds gathered to watch the election results here and throughout the world dramatize the new moment we are in.

This is why I don’t watch CNN anymore.
Oh Lord! Again, they’re treating him like some kind of God! Phooey on that! They call me racist for not voting for him, but they are being racist against me! I can’t speak my mind without someone jumping all over me for my views. I will not watch this slobbering love affair on tv.
After the Susan Roesgen thing at the tea party, it is a good bet that the decision makers at cnn are walking around looking at the world through a window in their stomachs. Otherwise known as Terminal Cranial Rectumitis.
I don’t need to wait for the the Communist News Network to grade O’Vomit, he gets an F-. He has flunked, failed, bottomed out. He needs to be replaced NOW.
I won’t be watching. I’ve experienced propaganda before.
What can they possibly be celebrating. 100 days of what appeasement, apologies, and the coming apocalypse ?
Guess they must do something to combat all those right-wing protests.
With CNN looking more and more like CBS or NBC, in the tank for Obama and his Communist regime, they may just as well merge with Al Jazeera, then they can portray the left as they really are, no less crazed than those spearchuggers dancing in the streets and shooting in the air like they did in Yemen or like Hamas does, I see little difference in their behavior as the sycophants swoon over their Marxist muzzie leader. Impeach the phony traitor.
I’m going to take a minute and go upstairs to the bathroom and puke. Then I’m going to have a beer, but won’t be watching CNN.

Thanks everyone, I love your comments.
