To Meghan McCain To Much For You? Then Don’t be a Republican

Talking about her family and their sacrifice Megan McCain says ……
“No one knows what war is like other than my family….PERIOD!”

My Beef With Ann Coulter
The Daily Beast
by Meghan McCain
I’m often criticized for not being a “real” Republican, and I have been called a RINO—Republican In Name Only—in the past. Many say I am not “conservative enough,” which is something that I am proud of. It is no secret that I disagree with many of the old-school Republican ways of thinking. One of the biggest issues from which I seem to drift from the party base is in my support of gay marriage. I am often criticized for previously voting for John Kerry and my support of stem-cell research. For the record, I am also extremely pro-military and a big supporter of the surge and the Iraq war.
More so than my ideological differences with Ann Coulter, I don’t like her demeanor. I have never been a person who was attracted to hate or negativity. I don’t believe in scare tactics and would never condone or encourage anyone calling President Obama a Muslim. But controversy sells and Coulter is nothing if not controversial. Everything about her is extreme: her voice, her interview tactics, and especially the public statements she makes about liberals. Maybe her popularity stems from the fact that watching her is sometimes like watching a train wreck.
I am sure most extreme conservatives and extreme liberals would find me a confusing, walking contradiction. But I assure you, there are many people out there just like me who represent a new, younger generation of Republicans. It took me almost two years of campaigning across this country and hanging out, on a daily basis, with some of the most famous and most intelligent Republicans to fall in love with the Republican Party. If it took that much time and exposure for me to join the party, how can GOP leaders possibly expect to reach young supporters by staying the course they have been on these past eight years? Where has our extreme thinking gotten us? President Bush will go down as one the least popular presidents in history. I constantly hear stories about Republicans who previously worked for President Bush and my father feeling ostracized, unable to get jobs in D.C. right now.
On Monday night Ann Coulter and Bill Maher kicked off a weeklong debate tour. Maybe they will prove me wrong, but this seems more like a traveling circus than a serious debate about the ideological differences between these individuals. I hope viewers understand Ann Coulter is not the woman we Republicans need representing us right now. The GOP is at a crossroads. I love the Republican Party, but if it turns out I am somehow not conservative enough to please its leaders, it makes me wonder—am I then not worthy of even being a member?

Wild Thing’s comment………..

Meghan your message is very clear. You are angry that all conservatives are not as “progressive” as you and your dad. In your mind nobody can be progressive unless they are a borderline liberal like you and your father….yep Rino’s. Earth to Meghan! Your dad lost because conservatives couldn’t stand his being a rino, we are fed up. The ONLY reason he got a single vote from we conservatives was because of Sarah Palin. Hello-o-o-o!
The reason that you don’t like Ann Coulter is so obvious!! It is because generally she is right on the mark about your Father and the Republican Party. Both have strayed from their Conservative values. Your Father’s refusal to stand up for core republican issues during the election cost the party dearly. Palin took a stand and your Dad made excuses for Obama and even to the point of saying Obama was an ” honorable man”. He cost our party more then you seem to realize or want to face, not only in losing this election but far into the future. Like on immigration. What a wimp he was on that issue. He is a great Military Hero but his leadership role is now behind him.
Thank goodness for Ann – and for those Americans who care more about the issues and their freedom. To you being “hip” is a big deal. Obama will “hip” us right down the road to national ruin. It won’t be so cool when we’re standing in the bread lines and wondering where our freedom went.
Millions of Americans over the past couple of hundred years gave their lives to avoid the type of “hip” government Obama is attempting to pull off. From my side of the keyboard, it doesn’t seem so cool to blow them off and support socialism.
Meghan, you’re completely misguided in your ramblings.
First off if a hipness factor is what is needed to attract young voters than what does that say about how shallow those young people are. Hipness is what attracted young voters to the empty suited socialist we now have destroying our country. And just to let you know there are a tremendous amount of young people that are conservative that would be appalled at what you have written and disagree with you completely.
Also if moving to the middle is the answer than why did your Dad lose? He had no crowds like he did once Palin was on board and you know it. He definitely isn’t a conservative and was all about bipartisanship. Unfortunately for him he couldn’t he’s as exciting as a stump. Our problem is that our so called representatives have moved away from our core conservative beliefs that we have won with before and that will, in the end, succeed again.
People like you, Meghan, who call yourselves “progressive republicans” make no sense what so ever. Maybe you should read Jonah Goldberg’s Liberal Fascism and find out what you have aligned yourself with when you call yourself a Progressive. People like you guide your life with things like feelings and momentary celebrity, but timeless principles like Individual Liberty and Freedom are what WE stand for. If you feel the need to be “cool” and jump on board with the popular thing at the moment (Progressivism = Oligarchical Totalitarianism) then maybe you should just become a Democrat and support the “green” lie and the Authoritarianism that they stand for.
Meghan, you and I would probaby have a lot of laughs, have fun shopping together, girl talk sitting at a coffee cafe, but the thing is underneath it all would be that you and I are so opposite in our thinking, in our attitudes even, and even when I was your age I never had your mind set. I could have cared less about being hip or cool or with the “in crowd”. I knew who I was and already had strong conservative beliefs. I know people can change, I have seen it, people that were very far to the left and did a complete turn around once they saw how it is all a lie and against all our Founrding Fathers wanted for our country. Maybe this will happen to you, but if I go by your Dad’s record I have my doubts. Prove me wrong Meghan. And until then, grow up or switch parties, you might as well since you have already bragged how you voted for Hanoi John Kerry, run do not walk to the Democrat party with my blessings, because you haven’t a clue. And your voice is heard by those that read your article thus you have some amount of influence on others, that kind of influence is pure rino and honestly we have had it with rino’s turning our party into Democrat lite. I sure as heck have!
OH and just one more thing Meghan. Your statement from the video…… well it was pretty stupid. I realize a person can be nervous in an interview and that saying something stupid can happen. Or you can even be misquoted which happens more then many realize. But Meghan, you were not nervous, you have done enough interviews to be used to them, and you were not misquoted these words came right from you live. ” “No one knows what war is like other than my family….PERIOD!” ….. You insulted all the other military families.
Every person at this blog either served our country, or has Veterans in their family or active duty today. You are totally off to say such a thing.

For Freedom’s Way
by Tom Hoefling
For freedom’s way the patriots bled,
The crosses mark our honored dead.
More clearly than mere words e’er may
That field lays out their final say:
No greater love, they gave it all,
In answer to man’s highest call.
But don’t forget that most returned.
To them we owe esteem they earned.
And last of all, remember this:
Our LORD betrayed by one mere kiss.
For from within true danger lies,
Though carefully as friend disguised.
So fight my friend, from where you stand,
For freedom rides on every man.
E pluribus unum

BobF says:

Those Liberal Democrat values she’s espousing would have left her father to rot in the POW camp. Mommy’s money and Daddy’s power has made her a true Blue-Blood Republican.

TomR says:

Too bad she feels the way she does. Who knows how she may feel in another ten to twenty years if she outgrows “being hip”.
I did like Cindy McCain. Her speeches sounded far more conservative than John’s.

cuchieddie-25th ID Vet says:

Thank you Chrissie, you are quite right. :}

Mark says:

Prissy little Bitch, aint she. She voted for Kerry ?????, I will bet her father John McCain did too. Does she have any opinions that are her own. Can she even think outside the box, except that which is scripted for her.
She is the problem in the party, a GD RINO, there idea of a candidate is being just a little to the right of Obama…That is the reason we lost, there wasn’t much difference between the two.
So what did she really think of Sarah Palin, or was her blog just so much BS, to help her daddy get elected.
If she is who she is saying she is. Then the whole blog with the pictures and poses and all the wonderful talk about Sarah Palin was a big scam.
She doesn’t like Ann Coulter, gee…I wonder why, maybe because Ann said, Hillary was more conservative than McCain and she’d rather vote for Hillary.
This little missy has a real identity problem.

Avitar says:

One big problem I see is that she has no idea what is conserved by a conservative. TrackBack is right that her values would have left her father to be executed as a POW.
More serious is the level of ignorance she revealed. You encounter this level of ignorance in the northeast. Even “well educated” adults do not know that the founding fathers were conserving the working principles of the last 5,000 years for good Government. The region has absolutely no foundation left of Classical Education.
A book titled The 5,000 Year Leap” does a nice job of putting identifying conservative principles in context. I would recommend the book for schools throughout the country.

Wild Thing says:

BobF., I agree, she better think again how she feels about the conservatives and the opposite the lefties.

Wild Thing says:

Tom, I agree, at first when I read what Meghan wrote I was going to leave it alone. But then I saw the video later and it was too upsetting so I went back and re-read Meghan’s article and then did my post.
I really feel badly about this because I posted about Meghan’s blog and posted a lot about how I liked her.
Cindy is wonderful, I have a lot of respect for her. I think she stays quiet about a lot of things just to keep the peace.

Wild Thing says:

cuchieddie-25th ID Vet, thank you, I hate writing stuff like this at fellow conservatives but she stated she was not and even bragged about it. The Kerry thing was over the top with me too.

Wild Thing says:

Mark, during the campaign she said she liked Palin. But as soon as they lost Meghan was silent about Palin. When asdked head on about it her response on Fox was she did not want to talk about Palin, I found that very odd.

Wild Thing says:

Avitar, yes,I hope she see’s how wrong she is. She is not a bad person just has the rino way of thinking and she could be so awesome and in her position could make a difference if she wanted too.

Typical rich RINO bitch that sucks BUD suds (mom is worth $105 million in Bud bucks) and attends Diamondbacks, Coyotes and Cardinals games for free, eh? Hey Rear Admiral McCain, you’re a two-time loser in THE BIG GAME, losing to W in 2000 and to BRO BHO in 2008! That’s 0-2 flyboy… Crash and burn, again, again and again?
