A few of my buddies from AIT are in Afghanistan right now and from what they tell me our instructors were right, it doesn’t matter what your MOS is you’re all Infantry. I wonder when I’ll be going it probably won’t be that long. I just don’t know. Believe it or not I actually want to go overseas. HOOAH!!!
Hey JohnE, I went when I was 20. If you go we will all be wishing ya good luck and Godspeed. It will be an adventure that will form the rest of your life.
JohnE, I was also around 20 and my MOS ended up being 11B40. Went from straight leg grunt to mechanized infantry. And as TomR said and I agree, it was one hell of an adventure and one that I’d not want to repeat but I learned a lot about life and people and am a better person for my service. HOOAH!
