The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in defense. (waiting for attack)
The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more important than either… The final weapon is the brain. All else is supplemental.
1. Don’t pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he’ll just kill you.
2. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.
3. I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy.
4. When seconds count, the cops are just minutes away.
5. A reporter did a human-interest piece on the Texas Rangers. The reporter recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was carrying and asked him ‘Why do you carry a 45?’ The Ranger responded, ‘Because they don’t make a 46.’
6. The old sheriff was attending an awards dinner when a lady commented on his wearing his sidearm. ‘Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you expecting trouble?’ ‘No Ma’am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have brought my shotgun.’
7. Beware the man who only has one gun. HE PROBABLY KNOWS HOW TO USE IT!!!
But wait, there’s more!
” I was once asked by a lady visiting if I had a gun in the house. I said I did. She said ‘Well I certainly hope it isn’t loaded!’ To which I said, of course it is loaded, can’t work without bullets!’ She then asked, ‘Are you that afraid of someone evil coming into your house?’ My reply was, ‘No not at all. I am not afraid of the house catching fire either, but I have fire extinguishers around, and they are all loaded too.’ To which I’ll add, having a gun in the house that isn’t loaded is like having a car in the garage without gas in the tank. “…
….Thank you Mark. I got this awhile back and the elction posts were in abundance, and I didn’t post it earlier so I saved it for today.

My favorite is the “Fair Fight” quote. I’m a huge fan of overkill. I also like to point out to people who don’t get this, a textbook definition of a “Fair Fight” was the Western Front of World War I and we all know the only thing that was fair was the amount of suck that went around.

lol…yeah, I’d like to see someone show up here and try to take away my husband’s guns. Of course, first they’d have to find them all.
I just bought a bumper sticker that says:
“I carry a pistol because my shotgun won’t fit in my purse.”
Wish I’d had one that in CA, but I probably would have been pulled over – a lot.
Wisdom in those words, thanks. I did start off the new year right yesterday, my daughter who was with me asked if I was hoarding, caught her by surprise I reckon.:) I made an investment in 223 carat heavy metal, a basic load for old rock and roll.
JohnE PFC U.S. Army , agreed!!! Scorched earth. Once the vehicle just ahead of me left the road after hitting what is today called an IED, command detonated, rest assured the only target in the vicinity was gnawed badly and aflame as we extracted the driver courtesy of Ma Deuce, nobody came trotting out either as the Air Cav arrived to finish what they started. There is no such thing as overkill. Why use a 500 lb. bomb when a 2000 lb. bomb will do it better? Hamas is learning this right now.
Well Jack, I started off the New Year by buying myself a nifty little Ruger 9MM to compliment our Mosseberg 12 gauge. Now if I could only procure a nice M2 and some foo gas, my inaguration purchases would be complete.
My nephew down the road just bought a .50 cal rifle. He’s been reloading as many as he can. He saw that in LA they started banning .50 cal ammo. Then again he didn’t vote either. So I find it difficult to sympathize with him, but I can understand his frustration.
A Ma-deuce is nice but they are a bitch to carry around. Same with that monster my nephew got damn thing weighs almost 30 pounds. Too bad though those rifles won’t fire the SLAP rounds, can’t chamber the Sabot.
So I just clean my M-1911-A1 and keep it handy. Just in case the house catches fire.
JohnE PFC U.S. Army, oh my gosh, me too!!!!
“I’m a huge fan of overkill”
Eden, hahahha good one.
Yankeemom, that is GREAT. I agree with you too, about California. haha
Jack, DITTO.

Congrats on that 9mm Cuchieeddie, you’ll like it. I have an ATP500 w/ folding stock and a handler slide, no choke and no plug, it bites from both ends with 3″ mags, downright nasty with handloads, it fits nicely under a poncho, float coat or light jacket, pistol grip or shoulder it’s always handy, spent much more time in the sack with that old gal than any other weapon. Don’t shoot it much, too painful, but I’ve never felt recoil with the adrenalin up. My other mistress is a 45 colt commander, the short version of the 1911. Of course I’d accept a 20mm Ak Ak in lieu of that Ma Deuce. Foo gas, now that’s the ticket for those unruly camel lopers.
