Jack says:

Excellent song Chrissie, there are some songs written in country and sang by Vietnam Veterans that you can listen to clips from here. That album can be purchased at Amazon .
That song, Vietnam Deck Of Cards, brings back memories of an incident at Chu Lai during TET ’69 when a LRRP patrol that had hiked back in from the bush South of there entered the main gate at the 23rd Infantry’s Battalion the anal MP’s charged them for being out of uniform. I reckon the SOB’s expected those men to be spit and polish, the message was clear to all , chicken shit!!!
Thank you Joyce and Larry. Welcome Home Larry!!!

TomR says:

I have heard this song many times and never tire of it. Makes more sense than most sermons I have heard.
Thank you Joyce and Larry.
Thanks Jack for that web site.

Jack, I was 4th Bn 23rd Infantry @ CuChi. Saw Chrissie there with Bob Hope but didn’t know her then. Glad I do now though.

Wild Thing says:

Jack, oh wow thank you so much. That is fantastic.

Wild Thing says:

Tom, I am so glad, I had never heard it before. I really liked it right away.

Wild Thing says:

cuchieddie, me too!!!

Jack says:

Alas Cuchieddie, I missed all the big USO shows. So glad you got the opportunity.
I served in a small support unit, the 737th TC, as a mechanic and driver, that 63B20 MOS never deviated from the basic 11B however, initially with 26th Gen. Sup. Grp as part of the the 259th QM Bn at Quang Tri through Christmas of 1968 supporting the 1st Air Cav, including the 101st and elements of the 3rd Marines. Up North we were strung out from West of LZ Stud near Khe Sanh down to Phu Bai, functioning as a three platoon company, with one platoon at Phu Bai hauling into the Ashau. We never saw a PX unless we travelled to Danang for supplies. Then after Christmas we came under the 57th Trans Bn and moved to Chu Lai as support for the 23rd Infantry, the 1st Cav, the firebases and LZ’s. We hauled class I through class IX from Danang to Pleiku, anywhere there was a call. Our third platoon stayed at Phu Bai serving the 101st in the Ashau. Once at Chu Lai we were hooked up solid and understrength so again no time off for the in country shows. I did hitch a ‘check ride’ in the door, one night to Danang with some Huey pilots for a Korean show, it was very dark and very drunk out as we flew back with the skids just above the water all the way in the moonlight, those guy’s could fly through the eye of a needle, even sober.
Like you I didn’t know Chrissie over there but I’m sure glad I do now. Thanks for all you do Chrissie.
Welcome Home Cuchieeddie.
