Crowd Sings Happy Birthday to Palin’s Mom in Rally in N.C.
ASHEVILLE, NC
FOX News
Local news says appx 10,000 in attendance
Sarah Palin walked into her rally today to the music of Gretchen Wilson. She asked the country singer who has performed at several of her stops to sing “one more song.”
Wilson obliged and belted out “Redneck Woman,” which has become her Palin rally signature song.
Clad in jeans, the GOP Vice-Presidential nominee started singing along and clapping to the music. She glanced back at her husband, Todd and waved to the supporters, clearly enjoying herself.
She then asked the crowd for a favor and they happily obliged.
“Again, so good to be here. Asheville, I was hoping that you could do one more favor for me as we just thanked Gretchen for that beautiful song. You guys we’re all one big American family here. Today is my mom’s birthday. And I want to surprise her by singing her Happy Birthday from all of you in North Carolina. And Gretchen is going to join us.”
She grabbed her cell phone and dialed her mother, Sally Heath and held up the phone as Wilson and about 7,500 supporters sang “Happy Birthday” to her mom in Alaska.
After the song, like most daughters it was hard to get off the phone with her mom. “No really mom, I gotta go, I do,” Palin said.
“Those of you who run our factories and grow our food and teach our children and you fight our wars this is where the goodness and the courage, the best of America is.” Palin said, “It’s in these areas where you love Amer–you have never been not proud to be an American you are proud to be an American.”
“We believe that the best of America is in these small towns that we get to visit, and in these wonderful little pockets of what I call the real America, being here with all of you hard working very patriotic, um, very, um, pro-America areas of this great nation.” Palin said, “This is where we find the kindness and the goodness and the courage of everyday Americans. Those who are running our factories and teaching our kids and growing our food and are fighting our wars for us. Those who are protecting us in uniform. Those who are protecting the virtues of freedom.”

Wild Thing’s comment……….
Sarah Palin did two rallies in Florida on Sunday and both went really great. After Florida she went on to to North Carolina on Sunday night.
Sarah is a natural, I think that is another reason many in the media are jealous of her. I think she is great and look forward to her being our VP offically! Tah dah!
She is doing two here in Pennsylvania tomorrow. One in Shippensburg and one at State Collge, home of the undefeated Nittany (NOT ‘Nitaly) Lions, of Penn State. I wish I had her energy all my work would be done.
So this morning I drove to Lewisburg to get Tickets to the State College rally. The woman in charge of the McCain Headquarters had her children there they both had Down Syndrone. She said thanks to Sarah Palin, she, now, feels like she can finally fit in. God Bless them both.
Then I discover Hank Willaims Jr. is going to open the Rally. (“If heaven aint a lot like Dixie, I don’t want to go, just send me to hell in New York city it’d be about the same to me.”) Do you think he’ll have the Confederate flags with him…Naw wrong rally.
So we are about 50 minutes away from this rally. At the headquarters I got buttons, lawn signs and bumper stickers. Veterans for McCain. Doors open at 6 PM.
can you post this on you tube? My library doesn’t allow downloading from your site.
I was there too, after a 3 hour wait, and it was worth every minute.
Since I can’t control my vernacular today I’m abstaining from making snide comments, I have nothing nice to say about Obama.
Judy, This is convoluted, there may be a way for you to download the article for later viewing. If you have an E-mail address or other E-mail address. Right click and ‘select all’ to highlight the page, then right click, select ‘view selection source’, this puts the text into HTML, right click again and select all, then copy the page. Go from there to your E-mail client and compose an E-mail.
In the E-mail editor select insert from the toolbar, select HTML, a separate window opens, paste what you saved from the page you just copied there and insert it into the body of the document. It should be an exact copy of the page you viewed. complete with links.
It is a stunt I used when all I had was dial-up and the only internet provider I had was from the library. I could then read it later on breaks at work.
Comrade Wild Thing, how dare Team Theodore DISSIDENTS oppose the Obamanation… Off to the gulags you’ll go ?…From Russia With LOVE??
Mark, how exciting, this is GREAT!!!!
“Do you think he’ll have the Confederate flags with him…Naw wrong rally.”

Judy, nice to meet yo. I am not sure what you mean. There are two YouTube video’s in my post.
The third video, is that the one? That is only a link and the video has a copyright so I don’t think I am allowed to put it at YouTube. Not a good idea.
That is so neat that you got to go, how fantastic!!!!
Jack, LOL I know who you feel.
“Since I can’t control my vernacular today I’m abstaining from making snide comments, I have nothing nice to say about Obama.”
I am getting more excited for our side every day BUT at the same time I am getting more angry every day at the left, the media, the people voting for this Muslim jerk and at Obama.
Darth, hahahahahahaha that’s me. A warrior to the end.
I support Sarah Palin for VP in 08 but I really support her for POTUS in 2012. Go Sarah, you rock!
