Gov. Sarah Palin, speaks at a campaign stop at the Bangor Airport, Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, in Bangor, Maine
They had to change hangers the small one could not hold everyone. Crowd estimated at almost 14,000 to 15,000. See below also crowd size at N.C.

Sarah Palin has been campaigning in Maine, where she scolded Barack Obama for not disavowing a community activist group that registers voters.
The group known as ACORN – the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now – has drawn condemnation from the GOP ticket as its workers sign up voters in swing states. Nearly a dozen states and the FBI are looking into allegations of voter registration fraud.
Palin told about 6,000 people at Bangor International Airport that she feels right at home in Maine with all the steel-toed boots and NRA hats. She promised that she and John McCain would look out for the interests of the working class.
Note the doofus woman at the end of the video saying “I’m really glad I got to see her in person. I’ve only seen her on TV, and she didn’t seem to connect. I’m one of those Republican women who was on the fence over her…” ….she is lame brain but we still want her vote. haha
At a rally in Bangor, Maine, she praised the debate performance of her running mate, John McCain. Then the GOP vice-presidential candidate added to the growing conversation about Joe Wurzelbacher. He is the plumber from Ohio whose name was mentioned more than two dozen times by the presidential candidates in their final debate Wednesday night.
McCain, Palin said, is “a leader who’s going to Washington to work for Joe the Plumber.” She later added: “You know, we want to cut taxes because we think like Joe or Jane the Plumber thinks.”
Sarah brings up the OTHER Joe……Joe Biden, the Democratic vice-presidential candidate. “Our opponents want to raise taxes because they think like that other Joe, that six-term senator from Delaware whom I’m running against,” she said.

Palin says God blessed America with oil and gas
ELON, N.C.
(AP)
Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin said Thursday that God blessed the nation with oil and gas resources and other forms of energy that should be tapped to reduce U.S. dependence on foreign suppliers.
The Alaska governor told supporters at Elon University that she and GOP presidential nominee John McCain will develop new energy sources.
“God has so richly blessed this land, not just with the oil and the gas, but with wind and the hydro, the geothermal and the biomass,” Palin said. “We’ll tap into those.”
Palin said some of the countries the U.S. relies on for energy use their resources “as a weapon.” And she said the billions spent each year on oil imports should be circulated within the country “for the sake of the nation’s security.”
“We need to drill here and drill now,” Palin said as the crowd chanted “drill baby, drill.” A protester at the back of the crowd shouted “No blood for oil.”

Palin’s message delights crowd of 15,000 at Elon
The Times News.com
ELON – Resplendent in GOP red heels, Sarah Palin toed the platform above home plate at Latham Park at Elon University and hammered home a low-taxes, small-government, pro-family, pro-America message to the delight of a large crowd.
Palin said Obama and Biden “think that government is the solution.
“I disagree with that. I think that government too often is the problem,” she continued. “And we need government put back on your side so that our businesses and our families can keep more of what they produce and earn, and then you prioritize, you reinvest … that is how jobs are created and our economy gets moving again.”
In this election you have a choice between inspiring words and inspiring and trustworthy deeds that come from John McCain,” she said. “Now North Carolina, I’m here to ask you – are you ready to help us carry this state to victory? Are you ready to make John McCain the next president of the United States?”
The crowd frequently interrupted her speech with full-throated approval, hoisting signs, waving pompoms and chanting “USA, USA …. Sarah, Sarah, Sarah” and “Drill, baby, drill.”

‘Sarah-liscious’: Seen at the Palin rally Thursday
the times news.com
ELON, N.C.
Like her or not, few would call Sarah Palin boring.
That made for unusually colorful campaign buttons, T-shirts and signs at her political rally at Elon University on Thursday.
Many focused on the former beauty queen’s physical appearance. Others played on the self-proclaimed hockey mom’s convention acceptance speech joke that “lipstick” is the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull.
Here’s a sampling:
— “I’m proud to be voting for the Hot Chick!” This bold statement on a campaign button was accompanied by a photo of Palin from her time as Miss Wasilla, the Alaska town where she was later mayor.
— Along similar lines, one campaign button proclaimed Palin “The Hottest VP from the Coolest State.”
— “Sarah-liscious,” accompanied by the image of a lipstick print.
— “Vote for the Man with the Lipstick-Wearing Pitbull.”
— “Read My Lipstick.”
— “Sarah Barracuda,” a reference to Palin’s nickname earned by her aggressive high school basketball play.
— “You Go, Girl!” seen on campaign buttons and signs.
— NObama. No explanation needed.
— “Drill, baby, drill!” a reference to the McCain-Palin campaign’s emphasis on finding new domestic oil.
— “Mothers of 5 rock,” seen on a sign one woman held up. As you’d guess, that’s the number of children Pain has.
— “Extra chromosome equals extra love,” written on a sign Palin mentioned seeing in the crowd while giving her speech. She and her husband’s youngest son was born this year with Down Syndrome.
— Five Elon students painted their chests to spell Palin’s last name. (Yes, they were male). Five students from Alamance Christian School were a little less bold, spelling her name with letters painted on T-shirts.
— Political items on sale at the rally included decks of playing cards featuring mostly Republican political figures. But Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama is the joker in each deck.

Wild Thing’s comment………..
Sarah’s crowds are always so great, huge and they all love her just like we all do. I am so proud of her, thank you God for our VP candidate.
I just love it. Finally, somebody is speaking up for the old “Silent Majority” which has been mercilessly abused culturally and fiscally by leftist politicians for 40 years. Her message is really resonating with Americans who treasure the land that is almost lost. A simple message, too – smaller government and no terrorist pals in the WH.
Sarah is something special, something you don’t see everyday. She’s a good wife, mother, has a great job and does it all in high heels and make up! But now that she’s here and about to crash that glass ceiling, everyone’s mad at her. Someone at work told me that Sarah is just above retarded and that the real reason everyone is so angry is that it should have been Hitlary breaking that ceiling, not Sarah. I’m sorry, but those are the most stupid reasons I have ever heard. Hitlary’s hoping to be put on the supreme court so she can legislate bad laws and take our rights away one by one.
What is it with that Republican women who said she was on the fence with Sarah? There are quite a few like her, including my wife. For some reason, my wife doesn’t believe a woman can be a good president and leader. I always point out to her Margret Thatcher and Golda Meir as two great leaders of their countries.
It seems the women are hardest on each other. I think many women don’t like Sarah is because she came up through the “ranks” on her own, without the Feminist movement backing her. Just like many Blacks don’t like Clarance Thomas and Condi as they achieved success without the Jesse Jacksons and Al Sharptons approval.
Sarah is inspiring. Her down to earth speeches relate to the way so much of Middle America thinks. We don’t want more government, we want less. And what government we do have, we want to be clean. No crooks involved. Sarah represents our idea of government.
Lynn and BobF, I am surprised at your experiences. Maybe because Sarah looks so good all the time makes some women jealous?? Hillary does not have that attractve quality, so maybe some women feel less threatened by her?? There are a bunch of PUMAs who have no problem with Sarah. Sarah is the ideal woman to shatter that glass ceiling. Years ago I though Jeanne Kirkpatrick would be the ideal president and she was no beauty queen. Beyond appearance, it is the heart and soul of a woman in politics that should earn votes, just like with men.
Lynn, wow what a horrible thing to say.
“Sarah is just above retarded”
Lynn I am proud of you, I think I would want to tell them off and then I would be fired. lol I mean it. You are so wonderful Lynn and it has to be hard to hear that kind of thing.
BobF, your right thanks.
I used to think we had to have a man for President because of the fact our country has to deal with so many Muslim countries, and the way Muslims, Arabs etc. think of women. But Sarah changed all of that for me, back in May when I posted about a Gov. in Alaska and my post was only about drilling for oil and how awesome the Alaska Gov. was. LOL I have no idea she would become our VP candidate. HUGE smile.
Tom, AMEN andn DITTO I agree so much….this says sooooo much.
“Sarah represents our idea of government.”
I support Sarah for President in 2012
Does this woman ever take a bad picture?
I just heard a clip of her saying Obama has turned (Ohio) the Buckeye State into the ACORN state.
LMAO–I SO LOVE HER!
Now that should make clear to everybody what a Buckeye is. But only in some cities, most of Ohioans are rural and work or have a farm.
Most ohio dogs have two buckeyes.
Sarah Palin is a great communicator and thorn in Obama’s side. Perish the thought, but if we get stuck with a President Obama, he gets to give a Saturday radio address every week. The opposition party gets a response which has been rotated to various congressmen and senators. Obama and the Dems would go NUTS if the Republicans had Sarah Palin respond exclusively each and every week. It would be his worst nightmare.
Mark I remember having buckeyes when I was a kid. They were hot items in grade school!
Cuchieddie, I will vote for her again then too. giggle
Eden, I think she is great,I really love everything about her. I am so proud of her. And our side like Sarah and Cindy and many more Republicans compared to Dems are better looking. I have that fun graphic with Susan Estrich ( spelling ) and Helen Thomas and others on it and it compares them to Republicans we have and it is so funny.
Mark, it sure does. Thanks.
Les, she sure is and they hate this especially about her I think.
