These are some of McCain’s responses I really liked.
McCain-……” I’m not going to set the White House visitors schedule before I’m president of the United States. I don’t even have a seal yet.”
ROTFLMAO!! OH my gosh that should be on a t-shirt or a sticker!!!!!!!!! Holy cow, he’s smacking him down.
“There are some advantages to experience and knowlege.”
“I don’t need on the job training.” LOL
“I looked into Putin’s eyes and I saw three letters; a K, a G, and a B”.
Obama’s one liners:
“I’ve traveled and met with veterans.” – OBAMA ( hey Obama there is one standing right next to you!)
More notes:
OH my gosh! What a total jerk Obama is. First Obama butts in then McCain tries to say his piece and Obama tells Jim, lets move on! While McCain is talking!! Obama just said “Let’s Move on…” Who the hell is the moderator? Apparently freaking Obama. LMAO, Obama is debating and moderating, too.
LOL ….Now McCain isn’t letting Obama interrupt him. Too funny.
Arrogance, elitism..Obama, he’s got the total package.
Obama just used McCain own words “walk the walk, talk the talk” what a loser!
Not ONCE did 0bama mention Israel. Obama has not mentioned supporting Israel, defending Israel, sharing a common interest and history. NOT ONCE. McCain gave him openings to mention at least 3 times, but Obama’s OMISSION of Israel in his speech and silence on any support for Israel by the US demonstrates once again how oh he will side with his PLO buddies.
I’m loving the way McCain is rattling off the names of places, people, and important strategical points in the Russia-Georgia-Ukraine situation. He’s on top of it, and all Obambi can say is “we have to rebuild the Georgian economy.”
I just realized he’s only said “my friend” once, if I’ve counted correctly. McCain’s staff must be working on getting him to limit his use of the phrase.
McCain started out slowly but is heading into the home stretch appearing more seasoned and more experienced than Obama which of course he is.
— Wild Thing
From the debate last night, here are THREE critical foreign policy & security issues on which I believe Obama has made himself (and potentially our nation) extremely vulnerable. — Wild Thing
(1) MISSILE DEFENSE: Obama lied (or flip-flopped without admitting it) on his position re missile defense. Tonight he claimed he supports it, when he is on video giving a left-wing rant calling for termination of funding for “unproven” missile defense:
Obama will Gut the Military
(2) RUSSIA-GEORGIA CONFLICT: Mis-Represents his own position on Russia-Georgia as it “evolved”…. he did NOT take the position on Russia-Georgia on the FIRST day of the conflict that he eventually took by day 3.
3) PRESIDENTIAL SUMMIT WITH IRANIAN LEADERS, NO PRE-CONDITIONS: Obama mis-represents Henry Kissinger’s position on Iran in order to pretend that Kissing agrees with the Obamanation. If a Republican candidate in a Presidential debate had just grossly mis-represented the position of the most famous living diplomat on an issue of such vital importance, in order to claim non-existent support for his own position (which position itself is in the midst of major flip-flops), the media would flay that candidate alive and the election is over. It is a measure of the depth and breadth of media bias that this will not even be a blip on the screen, or if they do feel any need to address it they will do so as apologists for the Obamanation.
Kissinger is TICKED and discussed this immediately after the debate!
The Weekly Standard Exclusive: Kissinger Unhappy About Obama
TWS
Henry Kissinger believes Barack Obama misstated his views on diplomacy with US adversaries and is not happy about being mischaracterized. He says: “Senator McCain is right. I would not recommend the next President of the United States engage in talks with Iran at the Presidential level. My views on this issue are entirely compatible with the views of my friend Senator John McCain. We do not agree on everything, but we do agree that any negotiations with Iran must be geared to reality.”
(3a) PRESIDENTIAL SUMMIT MEETINGS: re: follow-up to (3) above, not only is Obama mis-representing Kissinger’s position, but he is LYING (or flip-flopping without ackknowledgement) about his own pledge to hold direct meetings with leaders of Iran, Syria, Venezuela, etc….. (now says he does expect “preparations” etc. – trying to backpeddle on what he actually did say in Democrat debate in July 2007).
Obambi Said YES that HE as President would meet with “leaders of Syria, Iran, Venezuela….” during his first year in office … no preconditions
CNN
Here’s the beginning of the blowout if only the MSM could be forced to report it – Obama is LYING about his previous position on meeting with leaders of Iran, etc.:
“Asked if the candidates would be willing to meet “with leaders of Syria, Iran, Venezuela” during their first year in office, Obama immediately said yes and added, “the notion that somehow not talking to countries is punishment to them — which has been the guiding diplomatic principle of this administration — is ridiculous.” These are 3 different vitally important foreign policy issues on which Obambi stumbled, crumbled, fumbled, and/or LIED about his past positions/stands.
This election would be OVER if we actually had a professional, unbiased, competent media.
More on original context for Obama’s position on Presidential direct negotiations with the world’s worst regimes:
Obama on Meeting With leaders of Iran, Syria, Venezuela, etc.
cnn
“The question was a simple one but it elicited one of the few differences between Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama so far in the race for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination:
“Would you be willing to meet separately during the first year of your administration, with leaders of Syria, Iran, Venezuela and others to bridge the gap between our countries?”
“Obama said he would be willing to have such meetings.”
“The notion that somehow not talking to countries is punishment to them — which has been the guiding diplomatic principle of this administration — is ridiculous,” explained Obama.”
Fight! fight! Couldn’t you just see McCain kicking Obama in the shins and Obama hitting McCain over the head? Lehrer is an idiot.
Obama still reminds me of the Burgermeister Meisterburger from Santa Claus is coming to town. I can’t help it. He seems to think the government can control every aspect of life and he can’t! The president has NO power to tell CEOs that they can’t leave our country to go somewhere else. Maybe in communist Russia, but not here! And why would I want socialized medicine? Why should I have to wait to have life saving surgery until I’m already at death’s door and die on the table? Why should my daughters have to ask the government if it’s okay to have a child? Or be told that they can’t have or do certain things because they are women?
Obama kept interrupting and that told me one, he’s lying and two, he wasn’t ready.
I saw only part of the debate [I’m sure I can find more of it on-line if I search]. I was so frustrated watching B. Hussein O. interrupt Senator McCain, time and time again – and just his body language – BHO’s – he did all but roll his eyes! We do not have great choices for this year’s election – not by a long stretch, but if we see BHO elected the US is doomed. Doomed, I tell you!!! Hopefully not irreparably. McCain would not have been my first choice for POTUS, but I see him as the lesser of the two evils. I just wish the man would wake up and smell the coffee as to who his “friends” are and aren’t – and he needs to realize that he has NO friends on the other side of the aisle! How many days do we have left, 38? This has been the longest election in history…
Barack Hussein Obama …hic what kind of a name is that for a president… Hehehe..
His arrogance, elitism, and every other leftist trait shown through tonight. These traits are disgusting enough when their is some substance to back them up with but when Obama lacks the starch to enforce it, he is a ‘man-child’ in a school debate with the principal.
His constant interrupting is not only annoying but very childish and shows his lack of experience and a desparate attempt to score a point. This kind of behavior doesn’t score point with the public.
Barack hussein obama impressed nobody.
Monday morning (even though today is Saturday) quarterbacking is great sport. Like it or not, the debates are used by the undecided and lack of real knowledge of the issues voters who look at the candidates as if they were in a Hollywood movie and facts don’t matter.
To many of those, Barack Obama “looked” and “ACTED” presidential and that’s all those voters needed to make up their mind. That was his game plan.
McCain missed many opportunities to nail Obama on the facts. Obama did his BDS thing blaming the whole financial mess on the last almost eight years of Bush, McCain (Bush lapdog), and Republican deregulation policies. McCain should have shot back with the history of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and yes Enron of the Clinton 90’s and the rogues gallery of Democrats who raped the system. McCain should have mentioned all the legislation efforts and dates of the Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and housing fixes that both he and Bush tried only to be rebuffed by the Democrats.
When asked about which of their programs if elected President would be effected by the bailout bill, McCain should have strongly shot back that that was the reason he suspended his campaign and went back to Washington to take a leadership role in forming the correct legislation to see that the economy will support what needs to be done. Just saying cutting earmarks and reforming all agencies without better examples isn’t enough.
McCain didn’t nail Obama on his public announcement that he would unilaterally attack Pakistan to try and get Osama bin Laden (Clinton tried and failed in Afghanistan) and other terrorists which would would very likely result in the terrorists overthrowing the Pakistani government and gaining control of it’s nuclear arsenal.
McCain also let Obama get away with his claim of better judgement and strongly opposing the Iraq war from the beginning. Shut up! He was a state senator then and irrelevant to the decision making in the U.S. Congress. McCain should have listed all the intelligence information from all the countries that said Iraq was a current threat of having and using WMDs that Bush received including all the efforts at the UN that he used to try and resolve the crisis and asked Obama if he is President and has what is deemed at the time “credible” threat information to the people of the United States and our allies in the world that he wouldn’t decisively act opting instead to talk to our enemies giving them time to act while he was waiting for an unrealistic 100% guarantee that the threat information was correct. Presidents don’t get those guarantees.
McCain has to realize that he is at war in this race and must kick Obama’s lying ass every time that he opens his mouth. A debate draw or just good showing for McCain is a loss of that war and defeat.
One more thing regards the Russia-Georgia conflict. Obama wanted to send the issue to the UN Security Council (UNSC) for resolution. Great judgement Mr. Wannabe President. Russia has veto power in the Security Council. How many national security and world conflict crises would a President Obama punt to the UN to avoid taking necessary and decisive action?
Most of the time was wasted on stuff that either is of secondary importance or about which a President can do little directly anyway. MOAB overshadows all of us. Yesterday I watched a nice looking gray haired white lady, well dressed, on a street interview as to who should be elected. She opined that since the Republicans caused all this financial mess, the Democrats should get a chance to correct it. Like it or not I’m afraid she is the average person on the street. McCain has to shock them awake if he wants to win. He had the Bush coalition on the ropes Thursday but did not press his advantage last night.
Speaking of Obama’s “let’s move on,” yesterday I walked out of the Aurora Central Library and a young woman holding a clipboard asked if I was registered to vote. “Of course” I said, “Do I look like someone not registered to vote?” As she responded, “You’d be surprised,” I noticed her badge which read “MoveOn.org.” The Communists are on the streets working. The Republicans are at the library and on the Internet. (Speaking only for myself of course, and trying to paraphrase the now famous saying: “America isn’t at war, the marines are at war. America is at the Mall.” Do all of us know where the McCain/Palin Headquarters office is in our town?
Les, above, nails it. McCain has to obliterate Obama every chance he gets. They keep talking about fears of McCain losing his temper and then after the debate they express appreciation that he didn’t. They being the so-called newspeople. I was hoping for more temper, myself. Not looking for a sweet old guy. Looking for a junk-yard pit bull for President. If I were President I’d meet with Ahmahwhatshisname and bite his ear off like Andy Garcia did to Joe Mantegna in Obama’s least favorite Godfather movie.
McCain can’t win without getting in the same ugly in your face mode that Obama uses. He also needs to keep hammering the fact that Obama will defer all national security issues to the auspices of the World Court in the Hague and to the United Nations for resolution, sovereignty means nothing to Obama.
Lynn…. “Lehrer is an idiot.”. He sure is, he did a terrible job. He tells them during the debate he had just decided ” just” that he wanted them to talk to each other and not to him. hahaha He can’t even decide these things before the debate so they will know? hahahaha
I agree too, Obama would do well in Russia, he has the same mentality, not what belongs here in our country.
BT in SA, for me too, No way was McCain my first choice, thank God he picked Sarah Palin, that helped so much. Now I am excited about our ticket.
Obama did horrible in the debate and McCain did ok, McCain could have done a lot better but on the high notes of what McCain did do right he hit home runs on those things.
Mark, LOL exactly…..about the name.
I agree about the rest you said too, he is just being pushed by the left in the media, there is no way he did better then McCain in the debate.
Les……”McCain missed many opportunities to nail Obama on the facts.”…..I agree he had many chances to lay into Obama.
My post was about the highlights that were good about McCain and what he said and the things about Obama.
I agree with you too that Independents and the undecided are the ones now in the sights of the candidates and for them they seem to have liked Obama with his arrogance and his suit fit better. They are even too stupid to know why the suit fit better on Obama, he does not have the inability to put his arms down to his sides as a part of his disability.
I believe when Nov. 4th comes those undecided will mostly vote for McCain, just a gut feeling.
Les, good one too your comment about Russia. Thank you.
The facts are HAMAS has endorsed Obama and the Chicoms endorsed Bill Clinton! Sarah will do aok vs. No GI Joe Scrapple Biden…
Horace thanks for sharing about those two things.
This is so true too……”The Communists are on the streets working. The Republicans are at the library and on the Internet.”
I noticed with my husband how he opens the conversation a lot of the time out of the blue so to speak. He has come right out and asked a person so what did you think of the debates last night, things like that. He loves to talk about politics and even if it turns into a semi debate with a stranger. haha
For me it is I am a warrior at heart and an activist much like the moveon.org except I am on the opposite side and I pick my battles and battle fields carefully. And I don’t argue, that is not my style. The left loves to get in a persons face and I prefer to have it more like sharing and then see how it goes from there.
Horace, I agree with what you said about the debate too. McCain made some awesome zingers but he needed to do more, much more. He had the chance, the opening and he did not use it every single time. Obama needs to be slapped hard up along side his face verbally in debate.
Maybe it would have been too strong for the independents to handle to see but it would have got them to wake up for sure.
There is so much attacking of McCain and Palin in the media I wanted to make my post more about the good zingers McCain did and there truly were some. And then also about the slime Obama is of course. haha
Horace, I loved your reply to the moreon.org person. Good one.
Jack I agree I wish he had done that and I hope he hears feed back so he knows where he could have been stronger.
It will never be a win from 90% of the media no matter what. But today there have been a lot however on Fox that are saying he did better then Obama and I think he did too. McCain like you said does need to come on stronger on those things.
Darth, AMEN and DITTO and I would love it if the few good ones in the media would point that out.
I agree with eveyone else that McCain has to get a lot tougher if he expects to win this race. He has to quit “reaching across the aisle” with Obama!!!!!!!
Also, would someone PLEASE tell that stupid peace of dung, BHO, that he is running against McCain and NOT BUSH!!!!!!!!!! Everytime he opened his mouth during the debate, he was bringing up Bush and the past 8 years!!!!!!!!
HELLO OBAMA, BUSH IS NOT RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!!!!! When the Horse is Dead, GET OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sheesh, what a lame brain and to think it is possible for him to be president of this awesome country!!!!!!
