Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is scheduled to visit Dallas on Oct. 3 for a fundraiser and possibly a public rally.
Since becoming the Republican nominee for vice president, Ms. Palin has electrified the GOP base and helped John McCain surge in the polls. Local Republicans on Thursday were ecstatic that she’s coming to town.
“It’s a huge opportunity for Palin to be introduced to the people of Dallas who have seen her on television,” said Jonathan Neerman, chairman of the Dallas County Republican Party.
Ms. Palin will participate in a lunchtime fundraiser at the Fairmont Hotel. Tickets will cost $1,000 a plate. The top level being asked for host committee is about $57,000.
The money is being raised for the Republican National Committee.
Mr. McCain has opted for public financing for the general election campaign and does not have to raise campaign funds.
Mr. Neerman said he would try to get Ms. Palin to attend a separate event to introduce her to county Republicans who are not donors.

“We want her to do something with our grass-roots activists,” he said.

The Oct. 3 event, which will be one day after the vice presidential debate, would be Ms. Palin’s first trip to Texas since attending a Republican Governors Association meeting in Grapevine last April.

Wild Thing’s comment………
Fingers are crossed here they do the grass-roots rally too, that would be sooo awesome! If they do, ( and my guess is they will ) they would have such a huge rally in that area.
I lived in Dallas for 5 years and that is where I met Bob Hope. So Dallas will always hold a very special place in my heart and all the other things I loved about Texas.

Lynn says:

And the people of Dallas are a strong and compassionate people. While I have never been to Dallas, my father did, on business and he really truly loved that town. I hope all goes well with the rally.

Steve, Whatever says:

Outstanding! TomR, I’ll come get you for a ride to downtown{?} if you want. You missed a good time at the Special Forces event on Thursday. I couldn’t stay for the whole thing….I had to go to the airport to pick up a wounded Vet for transport. He too was 101st Air.
Even though I had on a Marine uniform, he didn’t beat me up. Nice kid…he’s been “in the mix”, if you know what I mean.

Mark says:

How to field dress a donkey ? Wow, that should be alot less complicated than a moose. The donkey is all asshole so one big cut, deep wide and continous should do it.

Jack says:

Thank God it’s Dallas and not Austin. Sarah should do well in Dallas. If it weren’t for what family I have left I’d have moved there many years ago, mostly fantastic people. Hope all you good people in Texas are doing well after this nasty storm.

TomR says:

Sarah Palin will get a big warm welcome in Dallas. Hope she does the public rally. That would be awesome. The local media will give her a lot of publicity. The local Democrats will keep a low profile.

Tincan Sailor says:

The press and Obambi keep hammering away on Palins qualifications, you
know light weight Mayor and Governor. So as for Obambi his one big one
Was community activist, correct me but isn’t that helping people do what they should have done for them selves all along, you know the words.
Courage, Optimism, Self-Reliance, Honor,
Duty, Heart!!!!!

Wild Thing says:

Lynn, me too, I think she will have a good response for the paid one and if they do a rally that is free it will be huge.

Wild Thing says:

Steve, hahaha that is funny about saying that about the uniform. heh heh
That would be so neat if they do have a rally and you get to go. How exciting that would be.

Wild Thing says:

Mark, Hahahahahaahahaha good one.

Wild Thing says:

Jack, that was how I felt about the people I met there too.

Wild Thing says:

Tom, I sure hope so too. The fund raissr is fine, I know that is something they have to do. But I sure hope they do the added rally too.

Wild Thing says:

Tincan Sailor, exactly!!!
Rush Limbaugh said the other day, he asked where are all the people Obama supposedly helped when he was a community organizer. Why don’t we hear from them even in an ad for his campaign. hahahaa

darthcrUSAderworldtour07 says:

Remember sports fans that the Hillary Clintonistas WILL vote for McCain-Palin in six more weeks, so that Hillary will be able to run for president again in 2012. Not a doubt in my mind.

Wild Thing says:

Darth, yes they are really upset and I don’t blame them.
