Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.), son of the one-time presidential contender, said Obama’s victory overwhelmed him.
Politico
“I cried all night. I’m going to be crying for the next four years,” he said. “What Barack Obama has accomplished is the single most extraordinary event that has occurred in the 232 years of the nation’s political history. … The event itself is so extraordinary that another chapter could be added to the Bible to chronicle its significance.”
Chris Matthews Effusive Over Barack ‘New Testament’ Obama
Newsbusters
“I’ve been following politics since I was about 5,” said Mr. Matthews. “I’ve never seen anything like this. This is bigger than Kennedy. [Obama] comes along, and he seems to have the answers. This is the New Testament. This is surprising.”
” I really think there’s a Salieri-Mozart thing going on here,” said Mr. Matthews. “Salieri was the court composer who did everything right. He was impressive. Along comes Mozart. And everybody couldn’t get the music out of their heads. Hillary is really good at doing what she is supposed to do. She’s impressive. He’s inspirational. That’s the difference. One’s the court composer. And one is the genius. There’s something he does. I don’t know what. Oprah said it. It’s not that he’s black. It’s that he’s brilliant.”
Wild Thing’s comment……..
The entire Obama phenomena creeps me out. Hussein seems to be setting himself up for the office of Antichrist.
Hillary was supposed to be the next president and not OBAMANATION / OBAMESSIAH. The 31 Red States of America from 2004 won’t let US down… McCain may even pick up one or two more former blue states! Big Mac will do well versus Hussein Obama in the debates. Barack will LOSE!
Girls used to wet their pants over The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, too.
Once he does something even they don’t like, that will be the end of his “righteous reign.”
Again, you can’t vote for someone only because you think they’re cute or they’re in your age group.
This idiot hasn’t said one thing that’s made sense to me and God forbid, he tells us what CHANGES he wants to make.
Didn’t God tell us to beware of false prophets?
This is no Messiah.
I hope the Silent Majority is awake in November and gets to the polls. I do not want an “idol” that attracts the loony and weird. The presidential election is not a dance contest. This year it is a survival challenge. If Obama is elected, I don’t believe the America we have known for 200+ years will survive.
Don’t underestimate the power of an increasingly ignorant, gullible, wishful thinking, political pants wetting, and, yes, stupid electorate. Barack Obama ran a smarter primary delegate count race against the powerful Clinton machine and won. He will do the same with the general election Electoral College delegate vote against a weak, incompetent, and feckless GOP/RNC.
The Dems have registered millions of new women, young, and pissed off at Republican voters. They have built an effective fund raising machine tapping both large and millions of small donors. The Dems have out raised and out spent Republicans by large margins and there is no reason that this will change. There is negative enthusiasm for the Dem-lite GOP/RNC and it’s RINO presumptive candidate, John McCain.
So, don’t count on a Bush-like red state revival. The Dems have the momentum of change even if it all turns out to be hot air after November 4th. Don’t count on the GOP, RNC, and John McCain to wake up and smell the “red” roses.
Darth, I agree, McCain will do much better then Obama in the debates.
Obama can barely talk without a a pre written speech.
Lynn, I agree, if there would be a name for what Obama could be compared to it would be a “false prophet”.
Tom, yes, I think the debates will make a difference.
I agree Obama will make so many changes and have a dem majority to back him up.
Les,yes, I saw where McCain’s team is working hard to sign up those that were for Hillary.
