Im glad you liked it. Sure brings back memories of ‘the good old days’ doesn’t it? Growing up my father used to tell me, as many fathers did, “If you want to stay out of arguements, never talk about politics or religion”. Today, that’s ALL we seem to talk about. It’s no wonder the country is so polarized. Although we’ve been able to be more sensitive to other’s lifestyles and concerns, we’ve carried the whole ‘political correctness thing to the extreme. In effect, we’ve become victim to our own sensitivities. In a way, our effort to confront our bigotry and predjudice has somehow served to re-inforce it. we lose the ability to laugh. Ann Coulter’s remarks the other day are a perfect example. We’re losing the ability to let words roll off our backs. My mother also had a saying that most of you have heard. “Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me”. It would seem that proverb is destined for the archives of innocence.
Thanks WT. Thanks Billy, sage advice most of us have heard.
Speaking of PC, what’s wrong with calling a lawyer-doctor/doctor-lawyer a bundle of sticks? Ann Coulter is a lot kinder than I am toward their kind.
