As a candidate Barack Obama consistently called Iraq the wrong war, a failed mission. Obama opposed the surge. He refused to admit that the Bush Surge was a massive success of historical proportions.
Now that the mission is over Barack Obama announced today that he will withdraw troops from Iraq. He spoke for six minutes. The troops will be home for the holidays. Obama told America the war in Iraq was over.
But, he refused to say it was a victory for America.
.
Wild Thing’s comment…..
How about after we get our troops out of Iraq we send Obama there for good and don’t let him back into our country.
So, what does he plan to do with our finest once they return home? Will he begin to dismantle our military and put these troops who are willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice on the growing list of unemployed? Just curious.
“How about after we get our troops out of Iraq we send Obama there for good and don’t let him back into our country.”
Sounds like a plan.
He’s going to leave a vacuum in a most volatile region that will ultimately fall to Obama’s cherished Arab Spring. Our troops will have fought and died for naught.
Once again our wonderful CIC puts himself ahead of his Country.
I think that the Iraqis have every right to refuse to allow the maintaining of bases in their country. We are abandoning them at a very critical time and leaving them in a very perilous situation, what with their neighbors in Iran, openly supplying support to those who wish the Democracy experiment to fail.
This and other moves, like support of the OWS folks, are geared to garner votes from those who may have abandon hope that, this freak isn’t, “Progressive or Leftist” enough. We can fully expect a number of actions of this sort to take place ovr the next few months.
We are looking at a desperate man here. One who loves power, and cannot handle the fact that he has a strong possibility of losing that power.
We can also expect a number of “Executive Orders”, issued in order to bypass Congress.
Things are going to get really ugly in a big hurry here, and the future of this Republic will hang in the balance.
Campaigning for reelection. obama doesn’t care one whit about serving America. He only serves himself. If this turd is not defeated in Nov. 2012, then I think America is irretrievably damaged. If he is defeated then we need to be very leery of the harm he may/will cause as an angry lame duck president.
Well lets see here, he’s shutting down the internets, radio and TV on 11/9 to “test” the system for some reason. Also Facebook may be shut down for a “test” on 11/5. So I guess he’s gonna need combat trained troops to back up his take over of the country at a date and time of his choosing. I guess I’ll be going to the ammo dump tomorrow.
Eddie is wrong and Sean is right. It won’t be this year that he makes his move. He moves the troops back and uses executive orders to transfer the weapons to an internal security force that he has spoken of before that won’t be as persnickety about obeying the Constitution as the US military. Similar to the Clinton admiration transferring the tanks to the FBI used at Waco. If we beat him bad it won’t matter but a Chicago Democrat will steal any election not nailed down and whatever he can pry up is not nailed down.
If he has a snowball’s hope in hell of winning using armed force as they see it in Chicago he won’t be the first Illinois politician to use fire arms to change the Constitution.
That all sounds good good but since the end of
WWII our track record has been No Runs, No Hits
and to many errors.Shades of Vietnam Cut and run.. Question how long before the wheels come off after we leave.. Obama is so desperate to win in 2012 he is playing his trump card now. We lost close to 60,000 in Vietnam and the country is thriving and manufacturing tons of goods for America. Iraq will turn into a boiling pot of $h*t after we’re gone and another waste of America lives and the same goes for Afghanistan. Now there are rumblings about war with Pakistan, Horse shit!!!!
Last time it took from 31 Jan 73 to 30 Apr 75, how long will it take now?
