Threats From Obama He Warns What He Calls ‘Unelected’ Supreme Court Against Overturning Health Law

Obama warns ‘unelected’ Supreme Court against striking down health law

Obama, employing his strongest language to date on the Supreme Court review of the federal health care overhaul, cautioned the court Monday against overturning the law — while repeatedly saying he’s “confident” it will be upheld.
The president spoke at length about the case at a joint press conference with the leaders of Mexico and Canada. The president, adopting what he described as the language of conservatives who fret about judicial activism, questioned how an “unelected group of people” could overturn a law approved by Congress.
“Ultimately I am confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented extraordinary event by overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected congress,” Obama told reporters today w…hile speaking with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Mexican President Felipe Calderon. “I’m confident that this will be upheld because it should be upheld.” Obama concluded.
“I’m confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented, extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress,” Obama said.
The Supreme Court spent three days hearing arguments last week in four separate challenges to the health care law, which stands as the president’s signature domestic policy accomplishment. A central challenge was over the individual mandate — the requirement that Americans buy health insurance. Critics say the mandate is unconstitutional, and that the federal government cannot force people into the insurance marketplace.
Obama on Monday said that without such a mandate, the law would not have a mechanism to ensure those with preexisting conditions get health care.
“I’m confident that this will be upheld because it should be upheld,” Obama said, describing the law as “constitutional.”

Wild Thing’s comment……
There he goes again making threats. This is the second time he has bashed and put down the Supreme Court.
How many laws has the US Supreme Court declared unconstitutional?
Per wiki.answers between 1789 and 2002 the supreme court declared 158 laws by Congress unconstitutional. Hardly unprecedented.

Guess that Marbury vs. Madison was too extreme or something. Judicial review of the law, to ensure it complies with the Constitution, is the Supreme Court’s whole purpose.

Unbelievable! This POS poser in the White House is attacking the Supreme Court for doing exactly what the Constitution of the United States says they’re suppose to do. This stinking lair is also saying the legislation passed by a strong majority when in fact, it barely slithered by.
We’ll have no honor as a nation as long as this guy is in office.

Just another chapter of the “Class Warfare” dogma, that the President and his Progressive friends are currently pushing.
If it isn’t those filthy rich people out to get theirs,at our expense, then it is those Judges in the Courts making rulings that keep us down.
It seems that with every passing day, we witness the emergence of the true character of this charlitan, who calls himself our President.
As long as the Press continues to avoid asking the tough questions or challenging the man, statements such as this, and the earlier, open microphone incident, he is free to say and do whatever he wants.
The average Joe who watches the Brian Williams’, 60 minutes and the Matt Lauers,as their source of information, get only what the Liberals want them to get.
The end result. A non-thinking, uninformed electorate, willing go along with this destructon of this Country.
When it is over and done with they will be looking around and wondering why it happened.
We are in some serious trouble here. The time is now or it will be NEVER!
